The town house where jazz legend Billie Holiday once lived has sold for $10.5 million, per the New York Post. The uptown apartment was sold in 2017 for $9.5 million before returning to the market in 2022 for $13.9 million. The buyer has not yet been identified.Holiday reportedly resided in the home for four years until her death at age 44 in 1959. Back then, the Renaissance Revival brownstone was divided into separate apartments, and Lady Day lived on the first floor. While in apartment #1B, the musician released one of her most acclaimed works, the 1958 album Lady in Satin.Built in the early 1900s, the 6,300-square-foot town house sits adjacent to Central Park and the Jacqueline Onassis Kennedy Reservoir. The 20-foot-wide abode comes fully renovated, though it has retained many of its charming historic details, like moldings and vaulted ceilings. The brownstone contains six floors and 14 rooms, including seven bedrooms, six full bathrooms, and two powder rooms wrapped in wallpaper by Lenny Kravitz.
