Monster Hunter Wilds may be the third "modern" Monster Hunter game following the release of 2018's Monster Hunter World and 2021's Monster Hunter Rise, but it's almost hard to believe it's the overall 27th game in the franchise. Accordingly, Monster Hunter Wilds carries with it two decades' worth of series identity, including many of the franchise's more iconic large monsters making a return to the series via the Forbidden Lands. Joining these returning fan favorites are a host of brand-new monsters making their series debuts in Monster Hunter Wilds, giving the game one of the more robust and exciting monster rosters yet.
