
Apple announces new immersive concert experience for Apple Vision Pro

A new Apple Immersive concert experience is coming to Apple Vision Pro users. On Friday, Apple will release Metallica, featuring 180-degree Immersive Video footage shot in Mexico City as part of Metallicas M72 World Tour. The concert film will feature full performances of three Metallica songs: Whiplash, One, and Enter Sandman. Apple says Vision Pro users should expect unprecedented access to James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett, and Robert Trujillo from vantage points as close up as the famed Snake Pit, to wide-angle views of the bands energetic performance in the round.To record the Metallica concert, Apple says it built a custom stage layout featuring 14 Apple Immersive Video cameras with a mix of stabilized cameras, cable-suspended cameras, and remote-controlled camera dolly systems that moved around the stage. Metallica will be available for free for Apple Vision Pro users on Friday, March 14 in the TV app. Apple also touts other new Immersive Video content coming to Apple Vision Pro, including new episodes of the Adventure and Boundless shows, plus the previously-announced VIP: Yankee Stadium tour and Bono: Stories of Surrender.
