Poll: most in L.A. support stricter building codes, restrictions after recent fires

A newLA Times poll has discovered a plurality of Angelenos now support stronger building codes and more building restrictions after theLos Angeles Fires. According to the results, "[80%] of those polled backed tougher building codes to make homes more fire resistant even if doing so added to costs. For homebuilding limits, 65% of voters in the Palisades fire zone were supportive, as were 61% of those surveyed in the Eaton area."Additionally, the poll asked about building more high-density housing in the urban core, away from the fire-prone suburban/exurban areas of L.A. County. To this, 55% said they were in favor.
