Planned staff reductions at the General Services Administration (GSA) will also impact its necessary art collecting and display activities. The reported plan to downsize its building portfolio and expenditures by 50% will also jeopardize, some argue, the management of its collection of 26,000 artworks.The GSA's Art in Architecture Program is another inclusion to possibly be lost in the shuffle. It includes programming such as the 35-year-old Design Awards. Among the more prized art entries are one of Alexander Calders stabile sculptures and Michael Lantzs Man Controlling Trade aptly placed dedicated in front of the Federal Trade Commission building in the Capital.
