Supermassive Games' interactive horror titles have largely been set in the present day, but its next big release, Directive 8020, takes place in an entirely new time period. Like many of its recent works, Directive 8020 is a part of The Dark Pictures Anthology series, which currently includes four mainline installments and one VR-exclusive spin-off. The game will serve as the first installment of the franchise's second season, and it's going to take place entirely in a colony spaceship called the Cassiopeia, which, after crash-landing on a distant planet in the far future, gets infected by a dangerous, shape-shifting alien organism.
