Federal judge upholds NYC's ban on natural gas in buildings

A ruling in the Southern District of New York, which covers New York City, has upheld the citys 2021 ban on natural gas heating and appliances in new buildings. The decision will have consequences for other similar attempts to curtail fossil fuels in Seattle, Boston, and several dozen other states and municipalities that have enacted such bans from 2020 on.
