According to Bloombergs Mark Gurman, Apple will be adopting its new in-house modems in another product in 2027: that being the M6 iPad Pro.Apple first introduced its new in-house modems in the recently-released iPhone 16e. It was dubbed C1, and it was certainly a competitive entry into the market. It does lack mmWave though, and Apple is already working on future iterations to bring it up to flagship-levels.According to Gurman, a future-generation iPad Pro with M6 will be taking the leap to Apples in-house modems. Thisll replace the Qualcomm modems currently used on cellular versions of the iPad Pro:The company has also started early work on M6 versions with in-house modem chips, which are being targeted for 2027.Despite this M6 iPad Pro being in the rumor cycle already, it actually isnt the next iPad Pro. Apple is working on an M5 iPad Pro thatll be as soon as later this year, likely October, according to Gurman. My favorite Apple accessories on Amazon:Follow Michael:X/Twitter,Bluesky,InstagramAdd 9to5Mac to your Google News feed.
