Apple just released new AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods 4 firmware

Today alongside iOS 18.4 and its various other software updates, Apple has shipped brand new firmware for AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods 4. Heres what you should know.New AirPods firmware coincides with iOS 18.4s releaseApple has new firmware available for AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods 4 users.Shipped shortly after iOS 18.4, macOS 15.4, and the companys other software updates, its possible this new firmware ties in to certain features of Apples latest software updates.The new AirPods firmware build is version 7E93.Until now, the current firmware version was 7B21. It was released all the way back in November.That last update didnt include any feature changes, only Bug fixes and other improvements per Apples release notes.Apples AirPods firmware site doesnt yet list details on whats included in the new 7E93 build, but its likely more of the same. Bug fixes and miscellaneous improvements tend to be the common changes in new firmware versions.Updating your AirPods Pro 2 or AirPods 4 firmwareApple says that firmware updates install automatically in the background. However, if you want to try making that installation happen sooner rather than later, the company provides the following tips:Make sure that your iPhone, iPad, or Mac is updated to the latest version of iOS, iPadOS, or macOS.Make sure that your AirPods are in Bluetooth range of your iPhone, iPad, or Mac thats connected to Wi-Fi.Connect your charging case to power.Put your AirPods in their charging case and close the lid.Keep the lid of the charging case closed, and wait at least 30 minutes for the firmware to update.Open the lid of the charging case to reconnect your AirPods to your iPhone, iPad, or Mac.Check the firmware version again.Best AirPods deals and accessoriesAdd 9to5Mac to your Google News feed.
