Diller Scofidio + Renfro's V&A East Storehouse to open in late May
The opening date for the new V&A East Storehouse design from Diller Scofidio + Renfro (DS + R) has been set for May 31st, 2025. The estimated $81.5 million project provides the 250,000 object storage component half of what’s been described as the UK’s largest museum-led development scheme in decades, and is being realized at the former 2012 Olympics media center site. The Storehouse design covers four levels and approximately 170,000 square feet with room for five permanent displays, including an example Frankfurt Kitchen from Margarete Schütte-Lihotzky and the office Frank Lloyd Wright designed for his client Edgar J. Kauffman in 1937. Photo by David ParryPhoto by Shahram Saadat Photo by Shahram Saadat
