Arup, USGBC California launch comprehensive rebuilding guide for California wildfire victims
Arup, in collaboration with the California chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC-CA), has released a guide to rebuilding for homeowners impacted by the Los Angeles Fires.
The 65-page guidance includes recommendations for building back safely and sustainably while reducing costs and is aimed at equipping stakeholders to pursue more equitable, climate-resilient rebuilding solutions across the state—which has lost at least 39,000 properties to damage in the last five years.
The information included allows for a decision matrix to be established using recommendations for everything related to building systems/envelopes, landscaping, roofs, exterior walls, windows, ventilation, a new building’s placement, and more.
