More concepts explore what the iOS 19 interface might look like
We’ve seen a lot of reports about the potential new interface for iOS 19, which is expected to look a lot more like visionOS. To give us a better idea of what iOS 19 might look like, many designers have been creating concepts of how they envision the new interface – and we’ve put together two interesting concepts to show you. iOS 19 concepts The first concept was created by Pedro Lopes, and he imagines the iOS 19 interface with only slight changes rather than a complete overhaul. Lopes has kept most of the interface intact, but with some aspects reminiscent of the Apple Vision Pro operating system. For instance, elements such as notifications, the Dock, and the Control Center have more depth and shadows. At the same time, some buttons such as the share option float on the screen instead of being attached to a navigation bar. We can also see a slightly rounded keyboard in the corners and the same macOS icons. Another interesting concept, this one shared by Minimal Nerd, imagines the Apple Music app for macOS with a translucent background. Currently on macOS, only the sidebar of the apps is translucent, with the main view having a filled background. The concept uses the same idea as visionOS, which has fully translucent apps due to the way the system integrates the interface with the real world. I can also imagine this same interface on the iPad. Although this concept may seem too much at first glance, I’d like to see something like this in the next version of macOS. What the iOS 19 rumors say According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, iOS 19 will be “the biggest revamp since iOS 7” with a “new design language and aesthetic tweaks.” The journalist claims that Apple will update things like icons, menus, apps, and buttons to look more like visionOS. In a recent video, YouTuber Jon Prosser showed what to expect from iOS 19 based on an alleged internal build that he had seen from a source. According to him, the icons will have a new, rounder shape, redesigned menus, and elements that shimmer as the user moves the device. In addition, system apps will have a new floating Tab View. To back up the rumors, the WWDC 2025 artwork unveiled a few days ago is heavily inspired by visionOS, with glass-like elements, depth and shadows. Apple will announce iOS 19 on June 9 at the WWDC 2025 opening keynote. Gadgets I recommend: Add 9to5Mac to your Google News feed.  FTC: We use income earning auto affiliate links.
