The official groundbreaking ceremony for Diller Scofidio + Renfro’s new 55,000-square-foot building expansion of The Broad in Downtown L.A. was held earlier this afternoon with Elizabeth Diller and other stakeholders on hand to witness the start of the next chapter in the institution’s history. At a cost of $100 million, DS+R will add another 70% worth of gallery space to the original 2015 design to accommodate a growing collection.
