David Chipperfield designs Milan arena for 2026 Winter Olympics
The design from David Chipperfield Architects for the upcoming 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games—one of only two newly built structures for the event—has been announced in Milan.
This is significant as 85% of the venues for the games are reused from the 1956 Olympics. Guiding the firm’s work on the Arena Santa Giulia locally will be Populous (interiors) and Arup (bowl design).
