L.A. preservation group retains post-fire vestiges for future memorial
Three months removed from the devastation of the Los Angeles Fires, The Art Newspaper has picked up on an effort by the local nonprofit organization House Museum to preserve the chimney remnants of homes in Pacific Palisades designed by significant architects such as Richard Neutra, Eric Lloyd Wright, and others.  A rendering for the proposed memorial in the Palisades. Image: House Museum courtesy of FacebookTheir aim is to assemble the saved pieces on top of a plinth as a memorial to the loss of art, memories, and the city’s history that came with their destruction. It has been one of several there and in Altadena that were launched by conservationists. They note that a physical space for the memorial has yet to be selected.
