At Spelman College, Studio Gang imagines STEM learning in a whole new light
Spelman College is continuing its great history of contributions to the intellectual life of Atlanta for the 144th year with the help of a new building project from Studio Gang.  The $96 million Mary Schmidt Campbell Center for Innovation and the Arts (CI&A) supports the all-women’s liberal arts college’s academic programs in filmmaking, dance, theater, and musical performances with new technology suites and other STEM-minded educational spaces.  This is an 82,500-square-foot building located across from campus, fronting Westview Drive adjacent to the fine arts departments' current home in the Milligan Building.  Photo: © Tom HarrisState-of-the-art labs, classrooms, and other education spaces in its program are arranged around a skylight-framed central atrium called the Forum that serves as the arbiter of a host of different activities. Each overlaps in such a way so as to challenge students to interact and collaborate outside their respective disciplines.  Photo: © Tom HarrisPatter...
