You'll create original animation with a strong emphasis on style and appeal grounded in realistic world physics. You will need a strong understanding of animation fundamentals and acting, how they relate to game animation, and the ability to work in Unreal Engine with ease. You will also need a strong sense of gameplay feel and timing in relation to game design principles in Fortnite.In this role, you willYour main priority will be creating animations for the Cosmetics team. In addition to animating in Maya, you will also be animating and working in Unreal EngineTake animation from the initial concept through implementation in Unreal Engine 5Drive collaboration across disciplines, including Production, Design, Technical Animation, Technical Design, and implementation, to help drive the style and feel of Fortnite's animationCollaborate with leads in a dailies-style critique environment, find optimal solutions, and address basic issues as they ariseRefine animations and gameplay feel as needed to get the best quality animation within the timelineWhat we're looking forA strong animation reel showing expertise in keyframe animation, and any other form of animation creation, including mocapExcellent communicator and problem solverRelevant experience in Maya and Unreal gameplay systemsGood instincts for realistic and stylized motionsStrong performance/acting choicesFamiliarity with the Unreal Engine 5 animation workflowExperience with providing feedback for modeling, skinning, and rigging in relation to animationExperience shipping at least one AAA titleExperience working with Motion Capture is a plusEPIC JOB + EPIC BENEFITS = EPIC LIFEWe pay 100% for benefits for both employees (EEs) and dependents (deps).
