MoMA invites viewers to 'The Many Lives of the Nakagin Capsule Tower' starting this July
Starting this July, the MoMA will present a very special look at the 50-year history of the Nakagin Capsule Tower. Kisho Kurokawa’s groundbreaking feat of Metabolism will be given a proper consideration with a recovered capsule (#A1305 – once the building’s highest) and 45 other archival materials that showcase and contextualize the visionary contribution to late-modernism that the world lost in 2022 at the conclusion of a drawn-out process. The exhibition will remain on view until July 12th, 2026. The Many Lives of Nakagin Capsule Tower was organized by Evangelos Kotsioris, Assistant Curator, and Paula Vilaplana de Miguel, Curatorial Associate, Department of Architecture and Design.
