‘Godzilla x Kong: Supernova’ Now in Production
Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. have just announced that Godzilla x Kong: Supernova, the sixth film in the Monsterverse, has begun production in Queensland, Australia. The film will feature several new human characters alongside the iconic Titans Godzilla and King Kong as they face off against a cataclysmic world-ending threat, and as of now, is schedule to hit theaters March 26, 2027. Honestly, do we need much more of a plot than that? Just let them destroy stuff.
The all-new “clash of the Titans” follows the global success of last year’s Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, which became the highest- grossing entry in the franchise and the biggest Godzilla film of all time.
Directed by Grant Sputore (I Am Mother), the film stars Dan Stevens (reprising his role as Trapper), Kaitlyn Dever (The Last of Us, Apple Cider Vinegar), Jack O’Connell (Sinners, 28 Years Later), Alycia Debnam-Carey (Apple Cider Vinegar, Fear the Walking Dead), Sam Neill (Apples Never Fall, Jurassic Park), Matthew Modine (Oppenheimer, Stranger Things), and Delroy Lindo (Sinners, The Good Fight). Dave Callaham (Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) and Michael Lloyd Green (I Am Mother) wrote the draft. The film is being produced by Mary Parent, Alex Garcia, Eric Mcleod, Brian Rogers, and Thomas Tull, with executive producers Jen Conroy, Jay Ashenfelter, Yoshimitsu Banno, and Kenji Okuhira.
No word on who’s handling the VFX. But we bet they’ll be busy.
