Acer has introduced two new laptops under its Switch X series aimed at content creators and creative professionals: the Switch X 14 AU and the Switch X 14. Both models are equipped with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU and 3K OLED touch displays, with AI-powered enhancements and hardware designed to support intensive workloads. Acer Swift X 14 AI The Switch X14 AI is powered by AMD's new Ryzen AI 300 series processors, including up to Ryzen AI 9 365, offering 50 TOPs of NPU performance. As a Copilot+ PC, it supports a range of Microsoft AI features like Recall, Cocreator, and Windows Studio Effects. In contrast, the standard Switch X 14 is built around Intel's Core Ultra 9 285H processor and features Intel AI boost for up to 13 TOPS. Both models are validated with NVIDIA Studio Drivers and optimized for AI-assisted tasks like video editing, 3D rendering, and image generation. Each device includes a 14.5" Calman-verified OLED display with 2880x1800 resolution, DCI-P3 100% color gamut, and VESA DisplayHDR TrueBlack 500 certification. They support a full suite of ports including USB-C, HDMI, USB-A and a microSD card reader. For creators who draw or annotate, both models support stylus with MPP 2.5 tilt-enabled input. Thermal performance is handled through dual-fan system, copper heat pipes, and an air intel keyboard. Additional features include 1080p IR webcams with Windows Hello support, biometric login, and Acer User Sensing for auto-lock and wake functionality. Battery life is rated at up to 16hrs for the Intel variant and 11 hours for the AMD-based mode, based on video playback tests.
