Classroom of the Elite was originally a series of light novels by Shgo Kinugasa before it became a manga and anime series. On the surface, it looks like an ordinary high school series about the Tokyo Metropolitan Advanced Nurturing School. Instead, its a place where students are divided by class, and the lead character Kiyotaka Ayanokji finds himself in D-class, the school's lowest rank.
