Kr Architecture breaks ground on new Ewe cultural space in Togo
Kr Architecture has announced the start of construction for the new Centre des Cultures et Spiritualits Ews (CCSE) in Togo. The project helps preserve the culture of the local Ewe people and uses endemic red laterite brick as its primary building material.Kr said: "I am very happy to contribute to this important project, and to be able to support this initiative of giving a space to express and preserve identity. It is a joy to see how ideas and techniques embedded within my work have now become 'salonfhig' and widely accepted by people building on the continent. The centre will demonstrate how architecture can be a catalyst for communities to celebrate their cultures."The firm expects the project to be completed in early 2026.Image: Kr ArchitectureImage: Kr ArchitectureImage: Kr Architecture
