Deborah Berke has been named the winner of the 2025 AIA Gold Medal by the American Institute of Architects (AIA). The Yale School of Architecture dean and founder of TenBerke follows Lake|Flato namesakesDavid Lake and Ted Flato to become the Gold Medal award's fourth living female architect recipient.The jury celebrated Berke for both her leadership in academia and work as a designer of a diverse and environmentally-minded body of projects as far-ranging as the Richardson Olmsted Complex in Buffalo and Brown University's new all-electric new Brook Street Residence Halls.
