While the figure for the PlayStation 2 isnt stated, NPD data last reported it as 43 million in January 2009.Its still unclear whether the Switch will surpass Sonys console in worldwide sales. At the time of writing, the overall Switch sales total is 146.04 million, behind both the Nintendo DS at 154.02 million and the PlayStation 2 with its recently touted over 160 million milestone despite Sony previous stating its total was 155 million.Switch sales this Christmas will be crucial in deciding whether the console will have a chance of exceeding the PlayStation 2, but it does seem somewhat ambitious at this stage.
