The official Yu-Gi-Oh! Account has announced the release of the first anime to adapt the lore of cards instead of focusing on an anime protagonist and their friends dueling to save the world. Yu-Gi-Oh! will release animated shorts starting in April 2025 adapting the stories of Sky Striker Ace and The Fallen of Albaz, after the premiere of an animated short video that debuted on the official Yu-Gi-Oh! YouTube account. Fans have speculated and begged to see that animated card game lore snippet expanded into a full series. The Yu-Gi-Oh anime has always focused on the original protagonist and their adventures in a Shonen-style series saving the world by dueling. But finally, the card game will expand on the trading card stories in animated form.
