Thermaltake's latest CPU cooler sports ridiculous (but cool) curved screen functionality
WTF?! PC gamers may have done everything they can with RGB lighting, so some manufacturers are transitioning to a new trend letting users put screens all over and inside their desktop towers. Thermaltake is bringing things to the next level by equipping its new CPU cooler with a curved display that shows diagnostic info or whatever images users upload. Thermaltake exhibited two new CPU coolers with unusual screens at CES, one of which curves around the unit. The displays could help users personalize their PCs or provide crucial information when glancing at towers with glass exteriors. The MAGCurve 360 Ultra ARGB Sync AIO liquid cooler includes an L-shaped 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with an ultrawide 2,400 x 1,080 resolution. It can display a clock, the weather, diagnostic information, photos, GIFS, and videos. Meanwhile, the MAGFloe 360/240 packs similar functionality into a smaller 3.95-inch 480 x 480 LCD screen.Users can control the screens with the TT RGB Plus desktop software or the TT PlayLink mobile app. The mobile app allows users to upload content from their personal galleries and stream live content directly to the water block display. The MAGFloe 360/420 includes three SWAFAN EX fans with MagForce 2.0 connectors and swappable blades for switching airflow between intake and exhaust modes. The Pogo pin contact pads facilitate cable management.Thermaltake isn't the only manufacturer to recently put a screen somewhere on or inside a PC chassis. Last year, MSI exhibited a desktop with a vertical 1080p display covering the front panel. It displays diagnostics, fan controls, voltage sliders, and shortcuts to frequently used apps. Furthermore, it can serve as a traditional monitor, offering users more screen real estate for browsers or Discord windows. Meanwhile, the Asus ROG Thor III power supplies feature detachable magnetic OLED screens that allow users to monitor power draw more easily. // Related StoriesAt CES, Corsair introduced the Xeneon Edge a 14.5-inch 2,560 x 720 LCD touchscreen that can sit on a desk or magnetically mount onto various surfaces. It includes USB-C and HDMI connections. The full extent of its software support is unclear, but the Xeneon Edge can simultaneously display system diagnostics, a music player, the time, and more. It can also act as a secondary screen.Pricing and release details for Thermaltake's coolers are forthcoming, but they will be available in multiple colors. The MAGFloe offers black and snow options, while the MAGCurve adds bumblebee yellow and gravel sand.
