Mayor Karen Bass has released a detailed plan for the rebuilding of key commercial and residential structures destroyed in last weeks devastating fires in Los Angeles County.The plan, which follows an earlierexecutive order signed by Governor Gavin Newsom that eliminated CEQA reviews and other building requirements for future developments in those areas, essentially establishes a "one-stop shop" to rapidly issue building permits and allow for "like-for-like"rebuilding by waiving the discretionary review processes.The citys Department of Building and Safety will also be directed to expedite approvals for 1,400 units of housing pro forma in order to accommodate the tens of thousands of Angelenos who are estimated to have lost their homes due to the catastrophe.
