1) The main character must be Cool!(Why would anybody want to go around killing innocent people in order to pay a tennis coach $150 an hour to basically live at their house and sleep with their wife!?)2) The setting must be Interesting!(Otherwise it's boring! And there's nothing interesting about a typical modern day city!)3) The missions must be Open!(We play open world games for freedom, not to be constatly told STAY ON THE YELLOW LINE! like Rockstar do
