Dezeen Showroom: Swedish studio Interesting Times Gang worked with design brand Ingridsdotter to produce two new versions of Jonas Bohlin's Liv table, with tops made from discarded fishing nets and takeaway packaging.Interesting Times Gang and Ingridsdotter launched the Liv Mahalo and Liv Tundra tables during Stockholm Furniture Fair 2025, where they served as the centrepiece of a joint exhibition exploring the designers' fusion of Scandinavian aesthetics and circular material approaches. The Liv Tundra table has a top made from recycled takeaway packagingJonas Bohlin's 1997 Liv table was informed by his rowing adventures, with the spindly, curving, powder-coated steel legs symbolising the flow of water through a locked floodgate. In the Liv Mahalo table, this base is paired with a tabletop made by Interesting Times Gang by pressing repurposed fishing nets from the west coast of Sweden to create a blue-patterned surface reminiscent of a surging ocean. Liv Tundra was made in a similar way but using recycled takeaway packaging.Liv Mahalo's top has blue-green appearance that recalls marine environments"The Tundra table top is reminiscent of sea glass on a shoreline, a reminder that beauty can come out the most unexpected places and materials, in this case discarded take away packaging and yoghurt containers," said Interesting Times Gang."Our combined reflection on the world of water, essential for all life on Earth, becomes our common language in this collaboration."Product details:Product: Liv tablesDesigner: Interesting Times Gang and Jonas BohlinBrand: Interesting Times Gang and IngridsdotterContact: hello@itg.studioDezeen ShowroomDezeen Showroom offers an affordable space for brands to launch new products and showcase their designers and projects to Dezeen's huge global audience.
