As we celebrate Black History Month, Humble is excited to announce our partnership with the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) as our February featured charity. Together, were on a mission to create opportunities for students from historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) who are eager to make their mark in the gaming and tech industries. We are partnering with UNCF to support a newly created scholarship program specifically designed to help HBCU students pursue their dreams in gaming and technology. Currently, only 4% of game developers identify as Black and just 8% of workers in the tech industry are black. Our collaboration with UNCF aims to empower diverse voices that will help shape the future of these fields.UNCF is the nations largest minority education organization, administering over 400 programs that support more than 60,000 students at over 1,100 colleges nationwide. They play a crucial role in strengthening HBCUs, which award 13% of bachelors degrees earned by Black students and are instrumental in STEM education. UNCF also advocates for education equity, ensuring that students have access to essential resources.Through our partnership with UNCF, we are excited to create pathways for success that help ensure students have access to transformative opportunities.Check out this video from Angela Wilbourn, Area Development Director at UNCF, to learn more about our partnership and the impact it will have on HBCU students.Join Us in Making a DifferenceYou can make an impact by supporting our partnership with UNCF in a few ways:Play Your Part: When you buy a Humble Choice membership in February, 5% of proceeds will support UNCFGet the Word Out: Help us raise awareness about this scholarship program when it goes live.
