Forward-looking: If you're a console owner who can't wait to play Grand Theft Auto 6 this fall, then here's some good news: Rockstar has once again confirmed that it's on track to release the game during the season. Unfortunately for us PC owners, a version for our platform still hasn't been announced, suggesting this will be another Rockstar game that takes months, and hopefully not years, to come to PC. It's been more than two years since the record-breaking GTA 6 trailer landed on YouTube. Since then, Rockstar has narrowed the release date down to fall 2025, but it still hasn't mentioned anything about a PC version something that didn't change during Take-Two's financial report yesterday.CEO Strauss Zelnick admitted that while GTA 6's fall launch date remained on track, delays can never be ruled out."We believe that arrogance is the enemy of continued success," Zelnick said in a post-report Q&A session. "We run scared. We're looking over our shoulder. Our competitors are not asleep. And so what do we do about that? We try to be the most creative, the most innovative, and the most efficient company in the entertainment industry. And Rockstar Games in particular seeks perfection in everything they do. And we believe that if we do that right, and we focus on delivering for consumers, that's our best opportunity to succeed."GTA 6 is set to become the most hyped game of all time. Zelnick has ramped up the excitement in the past, repeating the "seeking perfection" line last year. He also said it would offer an experience never seen before. And at the Game Awards in November, Rockstar's David Manley said it would boast "mind-blowing things."Relayed reading: Most Anticipated PC Games of 2025 // Related StoriesThe lack of news regarding a PC version is disappointing, especially in these modern times when PC ownership is so high and most machines can vastly outperform consoles. A former developer at Rockstar said the reason PC ports come later is because the company wants to prioritize what it sells (i.e., console games). Complications in building a PC version for multiple hardware configurations and the testing it involves are big factors in why PC versions of Rockstar's titles arrive much later, too.Rockstar's history with PC ports doesn't instill confidence in those hoping GTA 6 for PC will arrive soon after the fall. It took seven months for GTA 3 to arrive, eight months for San Andreas, eight months for GTA 4, and almost two years for GTA 5. Even Red Dead Redemption 2 took over a year, landing on PS4 and Xbox One in October 2018 before arriving on PC in November 2019.Away from GTA 6, Take-Two is still set to release Mafia: The Old Country this summer, while Borderlands 4 will arrive before the end of 2025. No word yet on when BioShock creator Ken Levine's Judas will be released. One thing gamers aren't looking forward to is the possibility of GTA 6 costing up to $100. An analyst recently said he "hopes" this will happen, as it could raise the average price of video games across the industry.
