Over the years, the building had undergone many uses and transformations, each adding layers of complexity to its structure. Reviving it required a careful balance between preservation and innovation. Many unforeseen challenges emerged as we peeled back its history, uncovering structural inconsistencies and outdated systems that needed upgrading. Instead of traditional fixed architecture, we treated the interior more like a large-scale installation within a gallery. This allowed for adaptable use of the space and encouraged participation and co-creation. Most of the structural elements are crafted from over 11 tons of locally recycled plastic, all handmade by artisans in Jakarta and across Indonesia. Jubei can also transform into a powerful and invincible demon for a short time if he collects five purple souls.In this remaster, players can now control when Jubei enters this powerful mode whereas in the original, it automatically activated once the fifth soul was collected. So definitely take advantage of it to unleash hell at opportune times.Also, souls disappear after a while if they aren’t absorbed, so make sure to not leave them hanging or you’ll regret it.Screenshot: CapcomIn Onimusha 2, there are plenty of weapons to collect, each with their own unique effects. The Buraitou is a lightning sword that’s both fast and powerful, making it a fantastic all-rounder. The Hyojin-Yari is an ice lance and it has the longest reach out of all the weapons. Use it if you want to keep a safe distance.The general idea is to switch between weapons so that you can maintain an advantage over your enemies. The wind sword, Senpumaru, might be the weakest in the game, but is incredibly useful for hitting flying enemies while the slow but powerful earth hammer, Dokoutsui can smash through enemies defences like they’re made out of paper.Screenshot: CapcomWhen you’re killing enemies and (hopefully) impaling them, they’ll drop valuable gold, which is needed to buy things such as healing items, weapons for companion characters, and collectibles like artwork. This will help you prepare for the challenges ahead.Additionally, scour rooms for treasure chests. They can provide valuable items like green herbs for Jubei to heal himself. Due to the fixed camera angle, treasure chests can be hard to see sometiomes, but take the time to look at your surroundings and you won’t be disappointed.Screenshot: CapcomModern technology means that the remaster of Onimusha 2 doesn’t need memory cards like the original did on the PlayStation 2. But there are still multiple save slots.The game has autosave, so you don’t have to worry about potentially losing hours of progress if something happens like your power going out or the game crashes (which didn’t happen to me, to be clear). But saving often and using the slots gives you the ability to go back in case you want to replay a certain segment or if you missed something.Follow these tips, and you’ll be breezing through Onimusha 2 in no time. Learn More It was a big week for AI announcements following events from Microsoft, Google, and Anthropic. But OpenAI is finishing things out with news of its own. And no, we’re not just talking about its $6.5 billion acquisition of Jony Ive’s design team to lead a new hardware effort, “io” at OpenAI. Today, the company upgraded its Operator autonomous web browsing and cursor controlling agent within ChatGPT from using the prior GPT-4o multimodal large language model to the newer and more powerful o3 reasoning model. The update, released globally today, May 23, 2025, is available as a “research preview” to paying subscribers of OpenAI’s $200 USD-monthly ChatGPT Pro plan. Basically, that is OpenAI’s way of saying it’s not a fully “sanded down” or perfected product yet — it may still have kinks and issues. But with rival Google offering its own top tier AI subscription bundle for a price of nearly $250 USD regularly (currently running a discount down to $125 for the first three months) to access its latest Gemini multimodal, Imagen image generation, and Veo video generation models, suddenly OpenAI’s ChatGPT Pro plan seems more affordable by comparison. What is OpenAI’s Operator and what is it for? Operator first debuted in January 2025 as OpenAI’s initial step into semi-autonomous agents, specifically Computer Using Agents (CUAs). The idea is to go beyond the chatbot interface of ChatGPT and allow OpenAI’s powerful AI models to start taking more actions on behalf of the user. Thus, Operator was designed to autonomously point, click, scroll, and type to complete web-based tasks such as booking dinner reservations, compiling shopping lists, or ordering event tickets. This agentic capability allows it to complete user tasks directly through a browser interface, from booking reservations to gathering online data. For safety, privacy and security purposes, Operator didn’t use any existing web browser on a user’s PC or Mac. Instead, it ran in a cloud-hosted virtual browser accessible via a standalone site—operator.chatgpt.com—where users could input requests and observe the agent perform tasks in real time. It combined vision, reasoning, and interaction capabilities based on GPT-4o, marking a new direction for OpenAI in agentic AI. The product was launched as a research preview for ChatGPT Pro subscribers and featured built-in safety measures like user confirmations, Watch Mode, and restrictions on high-risk web platforms. It was also being tested in enterprise contexts, including travel planning and civic services, demonstrating its potential across both consumer and business environments. o3 offers improved accuracy, structure, and success rates With this update, OpenAI aims to enhance performance across several key dimensions. The new o3-based Operator demonstrates improved persistence and accuracy during browser interactions. In practical terms, this means it is more likely to complete user tasks successfully and with less need for correction or repetition. Moreover, users can expect responses that are clearer, more structured, and more comprehensive. In comparative evaluations, the new model shows a distinct preference advantage over its predecessor. Human preference studies reveal that users favor the o3 model for its style, comprehensiveness, and clarity. It also performs strongly in instruction following and efficiency, though results for factual correctness are more balanced between versions. Performance on third-party evaluation benchmarks reflects these enhancements. On the OSWorld benchmark that measures completion of browser-based tasks, the o3 model scores 42.9 compared to 38.1 for the previous version. However, OpenAI notes that due to limitations in the automated grading system, the actual performance gain could be closer to 20 percentage points! On WebArena, the new model achieved a score of 62.9, up from 48.1. The most dramatic improvement appears on the GAIA benchmark, where the o3 model scores 62.2, vastly surpassing the prior model’s 12.3. Side-by-side task comparisons further illustrate these gains. In one example involving a restaurant booking request, the new model provided a clearer and more detailed list of available reservations, including locations, Michelin ratings, and seating notes, presented in a well-formatted table. The previous version, while functional, delivered less information in a less organized manner, according to an image included with the new o3 Operator release notes: The o3 model also inherits the safety measures introduced with earlier versions, with further fine-tuning for its role as an agentic system. OpenAI has integrated enhanced training against harmful task execution, prompt injection vulnerabilities, and mistakes involving user intent. And no, we’re not just talking about its $6.5 billion acquisition of Jony Ive’s design team to lead a new hardware effort, “io” at OpenAI. Today, the company upgraded its Operator autonomous web browsing and cursor controlling agent within ChatGPT from using the prior GPT-4o multimodal large language model to the newer and more powerful o3 reasoning model. The update, released globally today, May 23, 2025, is available as a “research preview” to paying subscribers of OpenAI’s $200 USD-monthly ChatGPT Pro plan. Basically, that is OpenAI’s way of saying it’s not a fully “sanded down” or perfected product yet — it may still have kinks and issues. But with rival Google offering its own top tier AI subscription bundle for a price of nearly $250 USD regularly (currently running a discount down to $125 for the first three months) to access its latest Gemini multimodal, Imagen image generation, and Veo video generation models, suddenly OpenAI’s ChatGPT Pro plan seems more affordable by comparison. What is OpenAI’s Operator and what is it for? Operator first debuted in January 2025 as OpenAI’s initial step into semi-autonomous agents, specifically Computer Using Agents (CUAs). The idea is to go beyond the chatbot interface of ChatGPT and allow OpenAI’s powerful AI models to start taking more actions on behalf of the user. Thus, Operator was designed to autonomously point, click, scroll, and type to complete web-based tasks such as booking dinner reservations, compiling shopping lists, or ordering event tickets. This agentic capability allows it to complete user tasks directly through a browser interface, from booking reservations to gathering online data. For safety, privacy and security purposes, Operator didn’t use any existing web browser on a user’s PC or Mac. Instead, it ran in a cloud-hosted virtual browser accessible via a standalone site—operator.chatgpt.com—where users could input requests and observe the agent perform tasks in real time. It combined vision, reasoning, and interaction capabilities based on GPT-4o, marking a new direction for OpenAI in agentic AI. The product was launched as a research preview for ChatGPT Pro subscribers and featured built-in safety measures like user confirmations, Watch Mode, and restrictions on high-risk web platforms. It was also being tested in enterprise contexts, including travel planning and civic services, demonstrating its potential across both consumer and business environments. o3 offers improved accuracy, structure, and success rates With this update, OpenAI aims to enhance performance across several key dimensions. The new o3-based Operator demonstrates improved persistence and accuracy during browser interactions. On the OSWorld benchmark that measures completion of browser-based tasks, the o3 model scores 42.9 compared to 38.1 for the previous version. On WebArena, the new model achieved a score of 62.9, up from 48.1. The most dramatic improvement appears on the GAIA benchmark, where the o3 model scores 62.2, vastly surpassing the prior model’s 12.3. Side-by-side task comparisons further illustrate these gains. In one example involving a restaurant booking request, the new model provided a clearer and more detailed list of available reservations, including locations, Michelin ratings, and seating notes, presented in a well-formatted table. Psych out College Board keeps apologizing for screwing up digital SAT and AP tests AP Psych is the latest casualty of digital snafus. The US group, which administers the SAT and AP tests to college-bound students, paid its CEO $2.38 million in total compensation in 2023 (the most recent year data is available). The senior VP in charge of AP programs made $694,662 in total compensation, while the senior VP for Technology Strategy made $765,267 in total compensation. Given such eye-popping numbers, one would have expected the College Board's transition to digital exams to go smoothly, but it continues to have issues. Just last week, the group's AP Psychology exam was disrupted nationally when the required "Bluebook" testing app couldn't be accessed by many students. Because the College Board shifted to digital-only exams for 28 of its 36 AP courses beginning this year, no paper-based backup options were available. The only "solution" was to wait quietly in a freezing gymnasium, surrounded by a hundred other stressed-out students, to see if College Board could get its digital act together. I speak, as you may have gathered, from family experience; one of my kids got to experience the incident first-hand. I was first clued into the problem by an e-mail from my school, which announced "a nationwide Bluebook outage (the testing application used for all digital AP exams)" for all AP Psych testers. Within an hour, many students were finally able to log in and begin the test, but other students had scheduling conflicts and were therefore "dismissed from the testing room" and given slots during the "late test day" or "during the exception testing window." On Reddit, the r/APStudents board melted down in predictable fashion. One post asked the question on everyone's mind: HOW DO U NOT PREPARE THE SERVERS FOR THE EXAM WHEN U KNOW WE'RE TAKING THE EXAM HELLO?????? BE SO FR i was locked in and studied like hell for this ap psych exam ts pmo like what the actual f---nugget??? Now, I'm old enough not to know what "BE SO FR," "TS," or "PMO" mean, but the term "f---nugget" comes through loud and clear, and I plan to add it to my vocabulary. Other students, whose schools canceled the exam before access was restored, raged against having to gear up for the test again in the future. "I CANT BELIEVE THEY DELAYED IT," wrote one. "I STUDIED FOR THR PAST WEEK EIGHT HOURS EVERYDAY AND RUINED MY SOCIAL LIFE FOR THIS. WHAT THE FREAK." Of course, there's always a silver lining to a cloudy day, and some less-prepared students—who had not apparently ruined their social lives for the past week—celebrated the delay. "i studied for like 12 hrs the day before no f---ing joke," wrote one, "and ngl [not gonna lie] idek [i don't even know] what psychoanal or biosycosocial model is or anything so its a win for me." College Board issued a statement on the day of the AP Psych exam, copping to "an issue that prevented [students] from logging into the College Board’s Bluebook testing application and beginning their exams at the assigned local start time." Stressing that "most students have had a successful testing experience, with more than 5 million exams being successfully submitted thus far," College Board nonetheless did "regret that their testing period was disrupted." It's not the first such disruption, though. Deeply and sincerely apologize This year's move to all-digital AP testing for most subjects is the latest move in a process that began several years back, and it still has numerous wrinkles. Not all of these are the fault of the College Board, either, but asking millions of students and educators to use a complex set of tools—including Chromebooks, school Wi-Fi networks, the Internet, and the College Board's own app infrastructure—imposes a new and more complex set of technical challenges than the older paper exams. For instance, this year's AP Stats exam was also disrupted at my school district, though this appears to have been an issue related to local Wi-Fi access. And when my eldest took the (also digital, also Bluebook) SAT exam at another school district last year, that district, too, had its own tech issues as students from other districts had trouble getting onto the school network. College Board also continues to have problems delivering digital testing at scale in a high-pressure environment. During the SAT exam sessions on March 8–9, 2025, more than 250,000 students sat for the test—and some found that their tests were automatically submitted before the testing time ended. College Board blamed the problem on "an incorrectly configured security setting on Bluebook." The problem affected nearly 10,000 students, and several thousand more "may have lost some testing time if they were asked by their room monitor to reboot their devices during the test to fix and prevent the auto-submit error." College Board did "deeply and sincerely apologize to the students who were not able to complete their tests, or had their test time interrupted, for the difficulty and frustration this has caused them and their families." It offered refunds, plus a free future SAT testing voucher. Switching to digital has many benefits, including higher security and easier grading, but organizations routinely appear to underestimate how difficult it is to run complex digital infrastructure at scale, especially under time pressures. The fact that College Board has had significant errors this year alone in both of its flagship testing regimes is not the sort of thing students want to hear. Nor do parents, for that matter, who can easily rack up $1,000-plus College Board fees per student (8–10 AP courses across their high school years at $99 per test, plus two SAT exams at $68 apiece). And the irritation only grows when the money goes to massive executive salaries while the core exams continue to have problems. Build 27863 is not the biggest one, and there are not that many updates. However, it contains some important changes, like post-quantum cryptography, which Microsoft announced at its annual Build conference earlier this week. Windows 11 now supports the post-quantum signature algorithm ML-DSA in the NCrypt and BCrypt cryptography API surfaces, as well as the Crypt32 certificate APIs. Other changes in Windows 11 build 27863 include three fixes. One resolves error 0xc0370106 upon Windows Sandbox launch that occurred in the previous Canary build. Another fix patches the bug with core Windows surfaces not being able to load in safe mode. Those include File Explorer, Start menu, and other elements. Finally, build 27863 fixes problems with the msftedit.dll library, which was causing apps like Sticky Notes and Dxdiag to crash on systems with certain locales, such as Hebrew or Arabic. Known issues include the following: Improtant Note for Copilot+ PCs: If you are joining the Canary Channel on a new Copilot+ PC from the Dev Channel, Release Preview Channel or retail, you will lose Windows Hello pin and biometrics to sign into your PC with error 0xd0000225 and error message “Something went wrong, and your PIN isn’t available”. You should be able to re-create your PIN by clicking “Set up my PIN”. You may see an Administrative Templates error message when opening Group Policy Editor. If you click OK you should be able to proceed as normal. One of the causes of this is fixed with this flight – there’s a second fix we’re working on which will be included in an upcoming flight. We’re investigating an issue where the taskbar is unexpectedly not showing acrylic material after upgrading to this build. We’re working on the fix for an issue where audio devices with high sampling (like 192Hz) and multiple channels aren’t producing sound after upgrading to this build. The streaming space saw a relatively quiet April, according to StreamElement’s latest State of the Stream report. Twitch saw fewer hours watched than in March, which the report attributes at least in part to a lack of “major” game releases — games like South of Midnight and Oblivion Remastered not being enough to move the needle on viewers at least. The most notable thing about the month is the precipitous spike in viewership for Call of Duty: Warzone, which saw 45 million hours watched in April, a 146% increase. According to StreamElement’s report, which was done in partnership with Rainmaker.gg, Twitch saw a total of 1.573 billion hours watched in April, less than even February despite have two more days. For daily hours watched, Rainmaker’s data shows viewers watched about 52 million hours total per day, lower than any other month in April. Or Perry, StreamElements CEO, attributed the viewership spike to the re-launch of the much-beloved Verdansk map. “The highlight of April was Call of Duty: Warzone experiencing a whopping 146% surge in viewership on Twitch, driven by the return of an updated version of the fan favorite Verdansk map. Nostalgia is a powerful tool because it makes things feel instantly familiar, with Warzone’s latest release standing out by reestablishing that emotional connection while upgrading rather than simply recycling old content.” The rest of the report covers the list of the top 10 streamers on Twitch.
