While you can invest in high-quality sheets, the best cooling mattresses are a great foundation for a good night’s sleep. These beds are often equipped with proper air flow and temperature-regulating technologies that might just end the tossing-and-turning in the middle of the night, especially if you’re sleeping hot.To help along the way, AD editors and contributors set out to test the best in their homes. Cooling features our team kept an eye out for include everything from gel-infused foam to pocketed coils that help with motion isolation. We also looked at different mattress typesand considered a variety of firmness levels. Below are some of our favorites, many of which come with a lengthy trial period, solid warranties, and even white glove delivery. Take a peek at the best cooling mattress options to suit your needs. Our Top Picks for the Best Cooling Mattresses:Best Overall Cooling Mattress: Cocoon by Sealy The Chill Mattress, A Smart Option: Sleep Number i8 Mattress, Best Hybrid Mattress: Saatva Latex Hybrid Mattress, The Budget Pick: Allswell Supreme Mattress, Best Memory Foam Mattress: GhostBed Luxe Foam Mattress, Browse by CategoryFor consistency, all of the prices in this list reflect queen sizes. The Cooling Mattress, OverallCocoon by Sealy Chill MattressUpsides & DownsidesUpsidesAffordableIncludes free Sealy Sleep BundleMemory foam layers adjust to sleep positionDownsidesLeans more firm than medium, according to our testerSpecsMattress type: Memory foamMaterials: Cooling cover, memory foam, cushioning foamFirmness: Medium-FirmWarranty: 100-night sleep trial, 10-year warranty“While my previous mattress was on the firmer side, it was not a memory foam or very cool mattress,” says contributor Cade Hiser in his review. “With the Cocoon Chill memory foam mattress, I do not wake up in the middle of the night like I used to, tossing and turning. I also stay sleeping at a comfortable temperature throughout the night.” The mattress clearly prioritizes body temperature control—hence the name. • D&AD Awards 2025: who won what?

For many, it's the biggest and most nerve-wracking night in the creative calendar. D&AD held its 63rd awards ceremony last nightat London's Southbank Centre and handed out a record-breaking 668 Pencils across all categories.
Most significantly, three coveted Black Pencils—the highest D&AD accolade—were awarded to groundbreaking work that exemplified the year's themes of commercial impact and narrative excellence.
With no quota system for Pencil awards, D&AD maintains its reputation for uncompromising standards. In some years, no Black Pencils are given out at all, making the awarding of three a significant achievement for these winners:
Designing Paris 2024 by W Conran Design won in Graphic Design for its innovative approach to sports marketing. The judges highlighted how the design created a unifying yet distinctive feel that successfully merged heritage elements with modern sporting aesthetics.
A$AP Rocky - Tailor Swif by Iconoclast LA won in Music Videos, exemplifying the year's emphasis on narrative storytelling. The winning work featured long-form storytelling where music was integral to the narrative structure rather than an afterthought, demonstrating how narrative arcs can transcend different mediums and artistic disciplines.
Spreadbeats by FCB New York won in Digital Marketing for what the agency described as "Innovation through nostalgic technologies." This work aligned with a trend of brands cleverly inserting themselves into events, sports, and games through inventive approaches.
    Commercial and creative
This year's judging process marked a major evolution in D&AD's approach. Jurors emphasised the critical importance of commercial viability, seeking work that demonstrates tangible business impact and drives meaningful behavioural change rather than celebrating creativity for its own sake.
In other words, if there was ever a danger that agencies would make work primarily to win awards rather than serve the client, that's now history. In 2025, you have to do both.
"This year's awards celebrated the power of design not just as a form of art but as a catalyst for commercial success and behavioural change," noted Dara Lynch, CEO of D&AD. "The idea is that innovative ideas must possess both aesthetic appeal and tangible impact."

The Black Pencil winners perfectly embodied this philosophy. For instance, W Conran Design's 'Designing Paris 2024' was recognised for illustrating how design thinking can transform an entire city's attitude and behaviour. Judges from the Graphic Design category praised it as "a breakthrough for sports marketing and traditional sports marketing aesthetics," noting its playful yet scalable approach that successfully blended heritage with contemporary sport.
    The return of craftsmanship
Alongside commercial effectiveness, jurors were looking for exceptional craft. From Radio and Audio to Film, their message was clear: in an increasingly automated creative landscape, looking good simply isn't enough.
"The resurgence of craftsmanship stands as a reminder that in an era of automation, true excellence lies in the thoughtful execution of ideas," Dara explained. "It's not enough just to look good; true creative excellence must also leave a lasting impression."
This was particularly evident in D&AD's new Creator Content category, where judges called for clearer definitions of craft excellence and higher standards in content creation. The winning entries all demonstrated work that creates meaningful impact and genuinely engages audiences.
    Global Participation
The 2025 D&AD Awards achieved unprecedented global reach, with entries submitted from 86 countries worldwide—the highest number in the awards' history. This international participation resulted in over 30,000 pieces of work from 11,689 total entries.
"It's exciting to see so many brands and companies refreshing their identities," said D&AD trustee Lisa Smith, global executive creative director at Jones Knowles Ritchie. "Judging has been challenging. Too many entries follow the same established design codes and trends, making everything start to look and feel alike, regardless of category. The work that stood out was the kind that breaks away from the expected: inspiring, well-crafted, and truly fit for purpose."

The awards ceremony also recognised outstanding agency performance across various specialisations. FCB New York claimed the prestigious title of Advertising Agency of the Year, while Serviceplan Design was named Design Agency of the Year for the first time. DIVISION continued their remarkable winning streak, earning Production Company of the Year for the fifth consecutive year.
In the network categories, Serviceplan took home Independent Network of the Year, while FCB was also named Network of the Year. Apple received recognition as Client of the Year, acknowledging its commitment to creative excellence across its marketing initiatives.
    Presidential recognition
The 2025 D&AD President's Award went to Koichiro Tanaka, founder of interdisciplinary creative boutique Projector. Chosen by D&AD President Kwame Taylor-Hayford, Tanaka was recognised for his pioneering work at the intersection of storytelling, interactivity, and craft, which helped define a formative era in digital creativity.
"I'm very honoured," Tanaka said. "To receive this award from D&AD, which has lived longer than I have, and to feel part of its long story is now something I live with. Being recognised with care and an open heart is a special thing to me."
Kwame, who is co-founder of Kin, explained his choice: "Koichiro Tanaka's pioneering work at the intersection of storytelling, interactivity, and craft helped define a formative era in digital creativity. His career journey, bold ideas, and meticulous attention to detail have been a constant source of personal inspiration."

Beyond the three Black Pencils, the ceremony awarded three White Pencils, 48 Yellow Pencils, 176 Graphite Pencils and 434 Wood Pencils. Additionally, four Future Impact Pencils were awarded, recognising work that demonstrates potential for significant positive change.
The diverse range of winning work spanned 44 categories, from traditional advertising and design to emerging areas like Gaming & Virtual Worlds and the newly introduced Creator Content category. Craft categories collectively garnered 198 Pencils, underscoring the year's emphasis on exceptional execution.
The complete list of Pencil-winning work and shortlisted entries are showcased on the D&AD website, while the official D&AD Rankings will be released alongside the digital D&AD Annual. These rankings provide definitive tables of the most successful companies, networks, countries and clients based on the awards results.

Design and Build QualityThe Apple Magic Mouse is one of the sleekest input devices you can buy. Its glossy, featureless shell evokes a futuristic feeling, a bit like magic, if you will. The aesthetic has more or less defined the mouse for the better part of a decade. While there have been minor changes over the years, like moving away from disposable batteries or—most recently—the switch to a USB-C port from the old Lightning connector, the mouse has looked largely the same since the Magic Mouse 2 was introduced in 2015. You even still charge its battery the same awkward way, by flipping it upside-down to access the USB-C port. It’s a fairly small mouse, too. In my hands, it’s a little too small, and the slight bump at the center barely offers my hand any support. The distinctive body is well-suited for both right- and left-handed users, but the hyper-glossy exterior is prone to smudging. If you're buying the Magic Mouse by itself, you can choose from two colors, though additional options are available with the purchase of an iMac, including green, orange, pink, purple, and yellow. While the Logitech MX Master 3S's curvaceous shape is strictly for right-handers, the larger size offers more real estate for larger hands. While it's not expressly intended to be an ergonomic mouse, the MX Master 3S does offer supreme comfort. A slight wing on the mouse's left flank holds your thumb perfectly, while the soft ridges and smooth, rubber-like exterior feel good in your hands. The Logitech MX Master 3S comes in three color schemes: black, pale gray, and graphite. Both mice look good paired with any Mac. But while the Apple Magic Mouse is a gorgeous mouse, as far as comfort is concerned, there are few that can compete with the Logitech MX Master 3S.Winner: Logitech MX Master 3SFeatures and CustomizationThe Logitech MX Master 3S and Apple Magic Mouse each offer unique features that power users will enjoy. The Magic Mouse supports Apple's Multi-Touch gestures. In addition to traditional right and left clicks, you can perform certain other gestures by dragging your fingers across the mouse. For example, you can drag your finger down the center of the mouse to scroll, or swipe two fingers across the mouse to switch between apps. One thing to note: Apple says the latest Magic Mouse requires a Mac with macOS 15.1 or later, or an iPad with iPadOS 18.1 or later. You can use the mouse with Bluetooth-enabled Macs running earlier OS versions, but functionality will be limited. The Logitech MX Master 3S, on the other hand, comes with additional buttons and a horizontal scroll wheel. The physical MagSpeed Electromagnetic scroll wheel is fast, precise, and nearly silent. A small button sits just under the scroll wheel and cycles between sensor resolution presets up to 8,000 dots per inch. The Magic Mouse does not have an adjustable sensor resolution, and Apple does not list its maximum DPI. Recommended by Our EditorsAs far as software is concerned, the MX Master 3S supports Logi Options+, Logitech’s free, proprietary software that offers tons of additional functionality. Logitech Flow allows you to seamlessly work between two Windows or macOS computers, and even transfer text, images, and files between them. Logitech Smart Actions is a macro builder designed to automate repetitive tasks, and the Logi AI Prompt Builder allows users to build prompts and queries for ChatGPT. You can use the mouse with Bluetooth-enabled Macs running earlier OS versions, but functionality will be limited.(Credit: Molly Flores)The Logitech MX Master 3S, on the other hand, comes with additional buttons and a horizontal scroll wheel. The physical MagSpeed Electromagnetic scroll wheel is fast, precise, and nearly silent. A small button sits just under the scroll wheel and cycles between sensor resolution presets up to 8,000 dots per inch (DPI). The Apple Magic Mouse can’t do any of that, and is obviously only compatible with Apple devices, though it does have a few basic customizable options accessed via the macOS System Preferences app. Winner: Logitech MX Master 3SBattery Life and Wireless ConnectivityBattery life is another important factor in choosing a wireless mouse. The Logitech MX Master 3S offers 70 days of power on a full charge and gets three hours of use from a one-minute quick charge. The MX Master 3S also saves up to three Bluetooth connections, which can be swapped with a press of a button located underneath the mouse. Or, you can use the Logi Bolt USB dongle, which promises a drop-off-free connection up to 33 feet away. (Credit: Zackery Cuevas)The Apple Magic Mouse, on the other hand, offers “about a month or more” of power. It doesn't have a USB dongle, with Bluetooth as its sole connection option. You also can't charge it while you're using it (you know, because it needs to be upside-down to charge), while the MX Master 3S has a USB-C port for charging right at the front of the mouse.Winner: Logitech MX Master 3SPriceChances are, you want to get the most out of whatever money you've got leftover to spend on peripherals after buying a Mac, and if you're buying an iMac, you'll be tempted to not shell out any additional money at all, since your purchase already includes a mouse. In fact, neither the Apple nor the Logitech mouse is budget-friendly. The Logitech MX Master 3S originally retailed for $99 when we first reviewed it back in 2022. However, it has crept up in price since then, now retailing for $119. For that sum, you’ll get a USB-C charging cord (USB-A-to-C) and the Logitech Bolt USB receiver in addition to the mouse itself. (Credit: Molly Flores)The Apple Magic Mouse, on the other hand, retails for $79.99 and includes a USB-C (USB-C-to-C) charging cable—if you get the white mouse. For some reason, Apple charges an additional $20 for the black option. Apple products are typically expensive endeavors, but in this case, the Magic Mouse is actually the most economical option.Winner: Apple Magic Mouse (USB-C)

In architecture, a building’s function often plays a pivotal role in shaping its design and aesthetic expression. This approach addresses the functional needs of its users and contributes to a unique architectural identity, reflecting the innovative spirit of the institutions it serves.
That said, technological advances in architecture not only enhance efficiency but can also become unique design features that elevate aesthetics as much as functionality. For instance, innovative materials and construction methods, automation, or energy-saving control systems can meet practical demands and be visually appealing design features. This approach includes incorporating passive design principles, planning for long-term adaptability, and enhancing occupant comfort.
Research institutes, laboratories, data centers, universities, manufacturing plants, medical centers, and tech incubators are notable architectural expressions of an era’s technological progress. The following examples of technological facilities effectively illustrate these principles, showcasing the dynamic relationship between design, function and innovation.

Caltech’s Resnick Sustainability Center is a dynamic structure that reflects the institution’s commitment to tackling some of the most pressing environmental challenges, such as clean energy transitions, water scarcity, and environmental degradation. The center fosters interdisciplinary collaboration to advance research in renewable energy technologies, carbon capture, sustainable manufacturing, and ecosystem resilience to create practical, science-based solutions for a more sustainable future.
However, the building’s design is not merely functional; its undulating façade, composed of high-performance glass and metal fins, contributes to its striking aesthetics as much as serving environmental purposes. The rhythmic curves of the exterior not only give the building a distinctive identity but also optimize solar performance by managing heat gain and glare throughout the day. Paired with expansive windows that let in generous natural lighting, this striking building skin creates inviting and comfortable interior spaces. Green roofs and vertical gardens serve aesthetic and environmental purposes, enhancing biodiversity and offering a peaceful retreat within the urban fabric. Inside, the center’s shared labs and cutting-edge equipment emphasize transparency and accessibility, encouraging interaction among the building users.

One North Quay is Europe’s largest commercial health and life sciences building and exemplifies how a research-driven urban campus can integrate into a dense urban setting. Situated in Canary Wharf, one of London’s most space-constrained and strategically connected districts, the building responds to its limited footprint by organizing high-performance laboratories, flexible workstations, and communal zones into a stacked ecosystem that promotes interdisciplinary collaboration and long-term growth.
The building organizes tenants into blocks that connect labs, lounges, and meeting spaces. This configuration not only fosters interaction but also allows different tenants to scale according to their needs within a shared environment.
While the efficient interior layout is impressive, it is its exterior design that stands out. The architecture draws from the site’s industrial heritage, balancing aesthetic appeal and environmental performance. Sections of the facade are clad in graphite aluminum fins and warm-toned terracotta panels, enhancing the building’s vertical expression. These materials are arranged in an elegant gradient, giving the structure a distinctive identity that stands out in the urban skyline. Beyond aesthetics, the facade integrates key sustainable features—including an airtight, high-performance envelope, energy-optimized systems, and extensive photovoltaic arrays—all supporting the building’s goal of achieving a net-zero carbon footprint.

These case studies demonstrate that sustainable features are not simply utilitarian elements added to buildings but essential components that shape a building’s architectural identity and aesthetic expression.
Harvard’s Science and Engineering Complex’ s high-performance materials and a layered façade system reduce energy use while defining the building’s contemporary, high-tech appearance; Caltech’s Resnick Sustainability Center’s undulating building envelope, green roofs, and abundant daylighting elevate the environmental performance and the user experience; One North Quay’s gradient façade of terracotta and aluminum blends industrial heritage with modern environmental technology, proving that sustainable strategies can contribute to a distinctive urban presence.
These examples highlight a shift in the way architecture is approached, where environmental awareness can harmonize with design ambition. Through the integration of passive design strategies, innovative technologies, and creative use of materials, sustainable features are becoming expressive design elements in their own right. In doing so, they redefine what technological facilities can look like: functional, forward-thinking, and visually inspiring.

This bedding accessory was her first foray into latex pillows, and after sleeping on it extensively, she says it was not only breathable but it also held its shape for supportive sleep. “If you like a Tempur-Pedic type of pillow that is really solid and supportive or in the market for one to support other parts of your body, this would be a great option,” she says.A refreshing memory foam pickPhoto: Nashia BakerPhoto: Nashia BakerMy Sheets Rock Cooler Memory Foam PillowUpsidesStructured pillowDense designDoesn’t flatten over timeDownsidesMight feel too firm for traditional down pillow usersSpecsFill: Bamboo rayon, memory foam, and cooling gelCare: N/ASizes: Standard, kingCombination sleepers, listen up. Senior commerce editor Nashia Baker considers herself a side and stomach sleeper and attests that she feels refreshed and comfortable no matter her sleep position with this memory foam pillow. “It has a structured build and feels slightly firm to the touch, but it shapes to my head when I lay down for a soft, cradling feel as I sleep,” she says, adding that its support helps keep neck pain at bay. “Another perk that caught me by surprise was its cooling gel pad that actually feels refreshing. It’s been a go-to when the weather heats up so I can comfortably doze off.” If you aren’t sure which side is doing the cooling, you can identify it by its “ocean blue” color. Baker adds that the pillow is responsive and needs a lot of force to even make it sink in, and she hasn’t noticed any flattening over the last year she’s used it.Best for side sleepersRachel FletcherNaturepedic Organic Latex Side Sleeper PillowUpsidesIdeal for tall peopleDoesn’t bunchComes with extra fill to customize the firmnessDownsidesOn the larger sideSpecsFill: Shredded latex fillingCare: Machine-wash the outer casing on cold and dry on medium. It has a shoulder cut-out designed to prevent pillow-bunching or spine-contorting. Fletcher says that it leans softer and longer than other side pillows in her bedding arsenal, plus more. “perfect for a taller personas well as for someone who doesn’t like a super-firm pillow,” she says. “That said, it does come with extra fill in case you want to stuff it up a bit and increase the firmness.”A luxe latex pillowSaatva Latex PillowUpsidesOrganicHotel-inspired qualityGreat head and neck supportDownsidesExpensiveSpecsFill: Microdenier fiber fill, shredded natural latex coreCare: Machine wash the cover and outer fill layer only. Even though it’s steeper in price, she notes that these high-quality pillows are truly comfortable when put to the test. The organic latex material is naturally breathable to help regulate body temperature too.Best down alternativeCasper Sleep Original PillowUpsidesAffordableSoft yet medium-firmCooling percale weaveDownsidesNot customizable or available in different firmness levels like some other options in this listSpecsFill: Polyester microfiberCare: Unzip the outer pillow and remove the inner pillow. Somehow the pillow stays pretty cool and it really is at some indescribable sweet spot in terms of its firmness,” she says. “But the real key is that the pillow is thick enough to work perfectly as a stand-alone sleep piece.” Luckel adds that she usually sleeps with two pillows, so that’s really saying something. The budget optionBuffy Cloud PillowUpsidesComes in three firmness levelsMade of recycled materialsDownsidesSome customers say it can feel flatter than others on the marketSpecsFill: 100% GRS-certified, BPA-free, recycled PET fillCare: Spot clean or dry clean.Sizes: Standard, kingRachel Wallace, senior entertainment editor, recommends this Buffy pillow to “anyone who is a fellow side sleeper, or anyone who likes a soft feel but craves support.” Made of natural materials like eucalyptus, the brand describes it as being incredibly breathable and even softer than down. When it arrived, Wallace thought it would feel too thin and plush for her taste, but she can confirm that it lives up to the hype. “I feel like my head is sinking into it and yet somehow my head remains supported,” she says. “My neck has been feeling great.” And for the affordable price, it’s an all-around win for a good night’s sleep.More AD-approved cooling pillowsTuft & Needle Premium PillowUpsidesDoesn’t flatten or lose cushion over timePowerful infused graphite and gel cooling comboCertiPUR-US and Greenguard Gold CertifiedDownsidesSome customers find it too soft for strong neck supportSpecsFill: FoamCare: The pillow cover is washable, but the pillow itself is not. This bedding accessory is designed to feel soft and supportive, even more so than traditional memory foam. While some pillows can trap heat, this one is here to debunk the myth. This one gets its cooling effect from its breathable machine washable cover and patented Aero Foam Core. It’s also just as cozy. Calling it a “tiny bed,” commerce editor Audrey Lee says it helps relieve her shoulder and neck pain. “The Pillowcube is one of the longestrelationships I've had with a pillow,” she says. “I'm notoriously picky when it comes to cushionsand I've never had a disappointing night's rest with this one. The memory foam has softened just a touch over the years and it's made it all the more comfortable.”Lauren ArzbaecherCoop Home Goods Original Loft PillowUpsidesStrong motion isolationKeeps its shape over timePlush feelDownsidesNot made of natural materials like some others on our listSpecsFill: Cross-Cut Memory Foam & Microfiber BlendCare: Machine wash in cold water on the gentle cycle. Secure the zipper closed with a safety pin to ensure the inner pillow does not open or spill fill during wash.Sizes: QueenWith a makeup of memory foam and microfiber, you can consider this a hybrid pillow of sorts. Two AD staffers have this adjustable pillow from Coop Sleep Goods and love that it keeps its shape over time since you can add or remove the fill for just the right feel. Associate commerce director Lori Keong likes how customizable and “plushy they are to snooze on in all sleep positions,” while commerce producer Lauren Arzbaecher adds that they are “life-changing” for side and stomach sleepers like herself. “The memory foam and microfiber combo has helped with movement isolation so I don’t wake up with a stiff neck anymore, plus it just feels luxurious,” Arzbaecher adds.Nest Bedding Easy Breather PillowUpsidesCustomizable firmnessHelps alleviate neck painComes in three sizes including for side sleepersDownsidesSome customers feel like the fill is a bit stiffSpecsFill: 80% Non-Toxic CertiPUR-US® Certified Virgin Foam Blend of Memory Foam and High-Response Foam, 20% Smooth Polyester FiberCare: Remove the outer cover from the pillow. Wash the cover in cold water on a delicate cycle. Do not use fabric softener or bleach. Dry on low heat until the cover is dry. Do not dry on high heat; the cover may warp and shrink.Sizes: Standard/queen, side sleeper, kingSince AD PRO senior editor Mel Studach is pretty choosy when it comes to her bedding, the customization of this adjustable pillow immediately caught her attention. “I keep my shredded memory foam pillow pretty firm, and I’m so happy with the level of support and cooling comfort that it’s provided,” she says. “In comparison to other pillows I’ve had in the past, this one stands out not only for its customization, but also the fact that I have yet to have an uncomfortable night’s sleep or to wake up to soreness in my neck thanks to the firm support.”How we testedWe tested all the best cooling pillows just like everything else across the sleep category here at AD Shopping by, well, actually resting on them. Our editors slept on these pillows for at least a month to see how their sleep was transformed, paying special attention to the factors below.Cooling Technology: Special features like gel-infused pads make several of these pillows feel cool to the touch, while others feature add-ons like moisture-wicking covers. Otherwise, organic materials like latex are a great way to go since they are naturally breathable.Material: Most of the picks on this list are made of memory foam, latex, or a blend of down alternative fills like foam and microfiber. All of the above are known for being cozy to snuggle up with at night, however, we paid close attention to options with machine washable covers, too, for easy maintenance.Sleep Positions: Whether you’re a stomach sleeper or side sleeper, you’ll want to keep your sleep position in mind to make sure you don’t wake up with aches and pains. Like our Naturepedic pick, some pillows have a U-shape that contours around the body for side sleepers. We’ve included adjustable pillows in our list, too, so you can customize the fill and firmness level to meet your needs, no matter your sleep position.FAQsAre cooling pillows really worth it?If you ask us, we say a unanimous yes. The key to finding one that actually feels cooling is to look out for phase change materials, which essentially means there’s a combo between a breathable design—like natural fabrics such as latex—and a moisture-wicking cover to help keep you from overheating.Should you use a pillowcase on a cooling pillow? If your pillow has a machine-washable cover, you technically don’t have to use a pillowcase. However, if you want added coverage for your pillow, opting for a cooling pillowcase made of a crisp material like percale can make it feel even more comfortable.

#best #cooling #pillows #tested #editors

  • From Obelisks to Origami: Virginia Sin Unveils New Lighting

When Brooklyn-based designer Virginia Sin launched her home goods brand, SIN, in 2007, it was with a simple mission: to bring warmth and intention into everyday living. Fast forward to today, that mission is scaling up in a big way. At ICFF 2025, SIN will debut its most expansive lighting launch yet – introducing the OBEL and STRIA collections, alongside new additions to its beloved GAMI series. Drawing inspiration from Egyptian obelisks, heritage textiles, and the delicate art of origami, the new releases transform centuries-old craft traditions into contemporary forms that are equal parts sculptural and soulful. It’s a major milestone for the brand, which has built a loyal following for its handmade, coil-building ceramic and mixed material designs.

Inspired by the ancient practice of hand-weaving, the STRIA collection evokes the intentionality, care, and process behind heritage textiles. This series of sculptural wall sconces reinterprets the soft striations of fabric into rhythmic ceramic forms that beautifully filter light. STRIA also celebrates the many connections inherent in both ceramics and textile work – between material and maker, form and function, earth and home. Handmade in SIN’s Brooklyn studio, the sconces are fully ADA-compliant and designed with high-end residential and hospitality areas in mind, providing designers with a way to shape spaces that feel layered, meaningful, and inviting.

With the OBEL collection, SIN turns to the monumental geometry of hand-hewn Egyptian obelisks, reimagining these ancient forms as sculptural table lamps. Each piece is grounded and architectural, crafted through a slow, deliberate hand-building process that honors the raw beauty of clay. This also marks the first time SIN introduces shaded designs, creating a gentle contrast between soft and hard materials. By bringing history into the contemporary present, OBEL offers lighting that feels both timeless and striking, anchoring spaces with a quiet sense of presence and reverence.

The GAMI collection returns this season with an expanded lineup of pendants, flush mounts, and sconces that continue to explore the balance between fluidity and structure. Inspired by the art of origami, each piece is crafted from a single sheet of clay, folded into sculptural forms that feel both delicate and solid. With its extended range, GAMI brings a fresh versatility to both residential and hospitality spaces, offering a poetic way to express light, form, and shadow.

With its extended range, GAMI brings a fresh versatility to both residential and hospitality spaces, offering a poetic way to express light, form, and shadow.
