For some reason the last few weeks I have been craving to play a new Splinter Cell, the gameplay is unlike any other stealth game and Sam Fisher and his tool set is to damn cool. But, really, I think you've got it in one with Ezio's Family because it feels like the defining track of a franchise that is still going very, very strongly and in almost every game, sometimes arranged a bit differently or interpreted differently but it feels like its become the theme song of the series, really. Click to shrink... Destiny is still popular, but growth is stagnant (I'm surmising, but the onboarding/new player experience is absolutely awful so I can't imagine they're attracting much new blood). They're also a large and bloated studio that must cost a lot to run. Marathon has a large team and has been in development for a long time, so there's a lot of cash sunk into it already and a lot riding on it doing well.

There's literally zero excuses in this case. But I wouldn't call the overall design language very unique/original, it's very "Designer's Republic" going back to the 90s. It's just kinda bizarre that they presumably built their style guide ripping the artist off, and then also directly ripped the artist off.
