Airbnb has taken a major step forward in its journey to become an all-in-one travel booking app.
The app now lets you book service providers, such as chefs, trainers, or hairstylists, and experiences, such as cooking classes, museum tours, water sports, and more for your trips. "People choose hotels for their services.
People choose Airbnbs for the space… Now, we're giving you the best of both worlds—amazing homes with services that make them even more special," says Brian Chesky, co-founder and CEO of Airbnb, in a press release.The updates are live on the latest version of the app, with the homepage showing two new tabs: Experiences and Services. Services at your doorstepAt launch, Airbnb's services are spread across 10 categories in 260 cities, with more to be added later on.
You can now get chefs, photographers, massages, spa treatments, personal trainers, hairstylists, makeup artists, nail specialists, ready-to-eat meals, and catering services delivered to your Airbnb. (Credit: Airbnb)All service providers will have an average of 10 years of experience, Airbnb says.
They will be added to the app only after they complete an internal verification process and submit relevant licenses and certifications. Those looking to enroll as service providers can submit an application on Airbnb's website.While booking, users will be able to view each host's qualifications, offerings, and pricing on the details page.
In our time with the app so far, we even found portfolios of photographers on their details page.
Airbnb says that many services will have an entry-level option of $50 or less.Experiences: Explore like a localThe Experiences tab is designed to help you move around a city with locals who know it the best.
At launch, the feature is available in 650 cities, with more being added every day. Recommended by Our EditorsA quick look at the tab displayed the experiences available for each popular tourist city around us.

We looked into a cultural trip around Goa, and we could see the name, rating, and reviews of the host, in addition to the places included in the trip and the time required.
If you're interested in hosting such experiences, Airbnb is accepting applications for that, too. The platform has also launched a premium version of Experiences called Airbnb Originals, hosted by celebrities.
You can get beach volleyball lessons from Olympian Carol Solberg in Rio de Janeiro or pastry-making lessons from chef Raphaelle Elbaz in Paris.
Airbnb is also promising a day on set with pop star Sabrina Carpenter in the future.A future update to the app coming later this year aims to make it more social.
Airbnb says you'll be able to see who has taken the experience before and ask them about it "with simple and transparent privacy controls."Along with the introduction of new features, Airbnb has made several other changes to its app experience.
For example, the Messages tab now lets you share photos and videos, and the Profile tab adds a list of your past trips and people you have met.All of the above updates are part of a $200+ million Airbnb revamp that's just kicked off.
The next two stages involve making your Airbnb profile more robust so it's "almost like a passport" and the inclusion of more AI tech, Chesky tells Wired.

Video games have been simulating football since the 1970s, but they have rarely ever thought about simulating fandom.
You can play a whole international tournament in the Fifa titles, but what they never show is the way the competition seeps into the everyday lives of supporters, how whole towns are overtaken, how a World Cup can become a national obsession.
The way most of us experience the really big matches is through stolen moments of vicarious glory on televisions and giant pub screens, surrounded by friends and family and the sounds and images of real life.This is the territory of Despelote, a beautiful, utterly transportive game about childhood and memory, set during Ecuador’s historic 2002 World Cup qualifying campaign.
Football-mad eight-year-old Julián – a semi-autobiographical version of the game’s co-designer Julián Cordero – has just watched the team beat Peru, but now four more matches stand between Ecuador and the World Cup finals in Japan and Korea.
Structured as a series of short, immersive tableaux, Despelote gives us control of Julián as he goes about his life, buffeted by his parents and teachers between shopping trips, car journeys and school lessons.Something of what it was like to be a kid … Despelote.
Photograph: Panic GamesThe key scenes are where you are left alone, perhaps in a town square, or at a family get-together – and you experience something of what it was like to be a kid given crucial moments of freedom and agency.
You listen in on adult conversations, watch an old man feeding pigeons, say hi to a shopkeeper, have a kickabout with friends – the world is depicted as a series of grainy photos, washed with single colours – a beautiful visual device replicating the haziness of our oldest memories, the background details indistinct behind the personal, emotional events.As the game goes on, depictions of Julián’s childhood merge and interchange with recollections of later teenage parties and responsibilities.
We also learn about the sociopolitical background to the World Cup campaign: Ecuador is in the midst of a financial crisis, hyperinflation has bankrupted companies and gobbled up savings – in this context, the potential glory of footballing success becomes vital and talismanic.
The tournament is discussed in the streets and at weddings, it permeates everything.But other aspects of Ecuadorian life and culture are drawn in too.
You learn about the music, the food and the rebirth of the domestic film industry, via the 1999 crime film Ratas, ratones, rateros directed by Julián Cordero’s father, Sebastián Cordero.
In this way, real life impinges on the game world, like a poetic and self-referential Agnès Varda film, and in one lovely sequence, while Julián is engrossed in a footie sim on the family’s console, his onscreen player leaves the pitch and wanders home – to Julián’s own house: a beautiful, subtle comment on embodiment, fantasy and the act of playing.Despelote recalls some of the great works of independent narrative game design – The Unfinished Swan, Gravity Bone, Virginia – yet it is also something thrillingly of itself.
Even though it’s a game about one small boy in a specific rendering of Ecuador, it communicates the near-universal power of football as a cohesive social narrative: the way the Dutch team of 74, Maradona’s genius in 1986, and Gascoigne’s goal against Scotland at Euro 96 came to say something about the nations that produced them.
At the same time, as we draw closer to the final matches of the qualifying round and the excitement and tension becomes palpable, the camera and narration pull back, beyond the structured world of the game and into a meditation on the creative process itself.

A games console is more than just a dumb box that sits at home these days.
With portable versions, sophisticated technology and built-in shops, these entertainment centres are valuable items, costing hundreds.
If the worst happens and your Xbox, PlayStation or Nintendo gets stolen, here’s what to do.What to do if your console is stolen
Change your Microsoft, Sony or Nintendo account password, which will help keep the thieves out of your entertainment library.
Remove your payment information from the digital store built into your console to help prevent anyone running up large bills.
Report your console as stolen to the police via 101 in the UK.
Give them the make, model and serial number of the console, which you’ll find on the box or in your online Microsoft, Sony or Nintendo account.
Don’t forget to include details of any games, joypads or accessories that were taken with the console.
Report the theft to the manufacturer through its website or customer service.
Contact your insurance company should the console be covered under your household policy.
This is usually under “high risk” items but portable consoles may need to be included in specified items for coverage outside of the home.
What to do as soon as you get a new oneWhen you get a new or replacement console, there are a few things you can do to help in the event it goes missing again:
Unlike phones, tablets and other devices there is no built-in way of tracking most consoles, so consider attaching a Bluetooth tracker such as an Apple AirTag, Tile or Samsung SmartTag so you can locate them with phone or browser.
Make sure you use a strong password and two-step authentication for your console’s account to help prevent your details being stolen and items from being bought from any associated stores.
Set a pin code on your console’s account or turn on an option to require your password to confirm purchases on the digital store to prevent thieves running up a bill.
This setting is either on your profile or part of the parental controls.
Backup your game data and settings in the cloud, which should happen automatically if your console is connected to the internet and logged into your online account.
Game save syncing is free on Xbox but requires a subscription for Playstation or Nintendo.
Some consoles also allow game save backups to external storage.
Make note of the serial numbers for your console, controllers and accessories.
Take and store photos of each item along with purchase receipts so you can show them to the police or insurance.

Identifying the exact location of a software issue—such as a bug or feature request—remains one of the most labor-intensive tasks in the development lifecycle.
Despite advances in automated patch generation and code assistants, the process of pinpointing where in the codebase a change is needed often consumes more time than determining how to fix it.
Agent-based approaches powered by large language models (LLMs) have made headway by simulating developer workflows through iterative tool use and reasoning.
However, these systems are typically slow, brittle, and expensive to operate, especially when built on closed-source models.
In parallel, existing code retrieval models—while faster—are not optimized for the verbosity and behavioral focus of real-world issue descriptions.
This misalignment between natural language inputs and code search capability presents a fundamental challenge for scalable automated debugging.
SWERank — A Practical Framework for Precise Localization
To address these limitations, Salesforce AI has introduced SWERank, a lightweight and effective retrieve-and-rerank framework tailored for software issue localization.
SWERank is designed to bridge the gap between efficiency and precision by reframing localization as a code ranking task.
The framework consists of two key components:
SWERankEmbed, a bi-encoder retrieval model that encodes GitHub issues and code snippets into a shared embedding space for efficient similarity-based retrieval.
SWERankLLM, a listwise reranker built on instruction-tuned LLMs that refines the ranking of retrieved candidates using contextual understanding.
To train this system, the research team curated SWELOC, a large-scale dataset extracted from public GitHub repositories, linking real-world issue reports with corresponding code changes.
SWELOC introduces contrastive training examples using consistency filtering and hard-negative mining to ensure data quality and relevance.
Architecture and Methodological Contributions
At its core, SWERank follows a two-stage pipeline.
First, SWERankEmbed maps a given issue description and candidate functions into dense vector representations.
Using a contrastive InfoNCE loss, the retriever is trained to increase the similarity between an issue and its true associated function while reducing its similarity to unrelated code snippets.
Notably, the model benefits from carefully mined hard negatives—code functions that are semantically similar but not relevant—which improve the model’s discriminative capability.
The reranking stage leverages SWERankLLM, a listwise LLM-based reranker that processes an issue description along with top-k code candidates and generates a ranked list where the relevant code appears at the top.
Importantly, the training objective is adapted to settings where only the true positive is known.
The model is trained to output the identifier of the relevant code snippet, maintaining compatibility with listwise inference while simplifying the supervision process.
Together, these components allow SWERank to offer high performance without requiring multiple rounds of interaction or costly agent orchestration.
Insights
Evaluations on SWE-Bench-Lite and LocBench—two standard benchmarks for software localization—demonstrate that SWERank achieves state-of-the-art results across file, module, and function levels.
On SWE-Bench-Lite, SWERankEmbed-Large (7B) attained a function-level accuracy@10 of 82.12%, outperforming even LocAgent running with Claude-3.5.
When coupled with SWERankLLM-Large (32B), performance further improved to 88.69%, establishing a new benchmark for this task.
In addition to performance gains, SWERank offers substantial cost benefits.
Compared to Claude-powered agents, which average around $0.66 per example, SWERankLLM’s inference cost is $0.011 for the 7B model and $0.015 for the 32B variant—delivering up to 6x better accuracy-to-cost ratio.
Moreover, the 137M parameter SWERankEmbed-Small model achieves competitive results, demonstrating the framework’s scalability and efficiency even on lightweight architectures.
Beyond benchmark performance, experiments also show that SWELOC data improves a broad class of embedding and reranking models.
Models pre-trained for general-purpose retrieval exhibited significant accuracy gains when fine-tuned with SWELOC, validating its utility as a training resource for issue localization tasks.
Conclusion
SWERank introduces a compelling alternative to traditional agent-based localization approaches by modeling software issue localization as a ranking problem.
Through its retrieve-and-rerank architecture, SWERank delivers state-of-the-art accuracy while maintaining low inference cost and minimal latency.
The accompanying SWELOC dataset provides a high-quality training foundation, enabling robust generalization across various codebases and issue types.
By decoupling localization from agentic multi-step reasoning and grounding it in efficient neural retrieval, Salesforce AI demonstrates that practical, scalable solutions for debugging and code maintenance are not only possible—but well within reach using open-source tools.
SWERank sets a new bar for accuracy, efficiency, and deployability in automated software engineering.

$TRUMP meme coin buyers spent more than $140 million to get dinner invite with Trump, data shows
How Trump's made money off his meme coin
Buyers spent more than $140 million to snap up $TRUMP meme coins in a bid to secure an invitation to an "intimate dinner" with President Trump, according to data analytics firm Inca Digital. On April 23, the digital currency got a boost when it announced that its top 220 holders as of May 12 would be invited to a dinner with the president.
That helped raise the value of the meme coin by more than 40% from the announcement through May 12, partially reversing an 88% slump in the weeks prior.The top holders of the $TRUMP meme coin spent anywhere from as little as $53,500 to as much as $16.4 million to grab one of the dinner invites with Mr.
Trump, Inca Digital's analysis found. As of the contest's end on May 12, the biggest holder of the digital currency was an account named Sun VIP, according to the analysis.
While it's impossible to know the identity of any of the account owners due to the anonymity of digital wallets, many of the purchases were made through exchanges that don't accept U.S.
customers, such as Bybit and Gate.io, Inca's research reveals. "A ton of these users sent funds to international exchanges," noted Austin Ryan, director of marketing for Inca Digital, a firm that analyzes crypto data for risk issues like liquidity and front-running.
"The thought is that if they are interacting with those exchanges, they are not in the U.S."
The dinner contest has raised concerns from government watchdogs and Democratic lawmakers about purchases of a Trump-branded asset being linked to access to the president.
Also, because the $TRUMP coin is partly owned by an affiliate of the Trump Organization, the president's real estate organization, he and his family stand to benefit financially from purchases of the meme coin, critics add.The @TRUMP meme coin site hasn't disclosed the identities of the 220 top holders, who under the promotion are in line to dine with Mr.
Trump.
Tony Carrk, the executive director of watchdog group Accountable.US, expressed concern because those holders are "shrouded by their anonymous crypto usernames." Neither the White House nor the Trump Organization immediately responded to requests for comment.The dinner will take place on May 22 at the Trump National Golf Club in Washington, D.C., according to the $TRUMP meme coin website.
The top 25 holders will "will enjoy a Private VIP Reception with President TRUMP" as well as a "Special VIP TOUR," the site adds.

Bitcoin, the world's most popular crypto, was born in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis as a digital currency meant to be uncontrolled by banks or governments.$TRUMP meme coins can be traded on a decentralized exchange, which is essentially a place where traders can swap goods without a middleman.Instead of matching buyers and sellers one by one, decentralized exchanges use something called a liquidity pool to ensure trades can happen easily and instantly.
Liquidity pools are essentially an automated pot of funds that pair meme coins like $TRUMP with more popular types of crypto that can be easily traded.When the $TRUMP meme coin was first launched, its creators initially released 20% of the planned 1 billion total coins.
Half of that 20% was put up for public sale while the other half was put into a liquidity pool.
CIC Digital, an affiliate of the Trump Organization, and another company called Fight Fight Fight, receive "trading revenue derived from trading activities" of the Trump meme coins, according to its website.Through the liquidity pool, the creators of Mr.
Trump's meme coins make money by charging tiny transactional fees on each trade.

Apple’s Machine Learning team, in collaboration with researchers from Nanjing University and The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, has announced an interesting 3D AI model called Matrix3D.
This so-called Large Photogrammetry Model is able to reconstruct 3D objects and scenes from just a few 2D photos, but with a big difference from current pipelines.
Here’s why this is a big deal.
First things first: photogrammetry.
It uses photographs to make measurements in order to create 3D models or maps.
Currently, this process involves using different models for steps like pose estimation and depth prediction, which can lead to inefficiencies and errors.
Matrix3D simplifies this by doing it all in one go.
It takes in images, camera parameters (such as angle and focal length), and depth data, and processes them using a unified architecture.
This not only simplifies the workflow but also improves accuracy.
Even more interesting is how the model was trained.
Researchers used a masked learning strategy, very similar to early Transformer-based AI systems that helped pave the way for the first versions of ChatGPT.
They randomly hid parts of the input data during the training process, which forced Matrix3D to basically learn how to fill in the gaps.
This technique is key because it enables Matrix3D to train effectively even with smaller or incomplete datasets.
The results are impressive.
With just three input images, Matrix3D can generate detailed 3D reconstructions of objects and even entire environments, which obviously could have very interesting applications for immersive headsets like the Apple Vision Pro.
The researchers made the source code for Matrix3D available on GitHub, and published their paper on arXiv.
They also created a website where you can watch more sample videos and even interact with a few point cloud recreations of objects and environments.

A little over a year ago, Nintendo, Universal Pictures, and Illumination announced, surprising no one, that they were following up on the stupendous success of The Super Mario Bros.
Movie with a sequel that was due out in 2026.
Details on the movie have been scarce since then, but a crucial tidbit has seemingly now emerged.
On the official NBC Universal website, a report was published highlighting the lineup of titles shown off at the recent NBCUniversal’s 2025-2026 Upfront showcase event, and mentioned among several upcoming movies is Super Mario World.
In case you were wondering, no, that isn’t a title that has been officially confirmed for the animated film so far.
“An exciting range of films from Universal Pictures, Focus Features, DreamWorks Animation and Illumination were presented, including Megan 2.0, Nobody 2, Bad Guys 2, How to Train Your Dragon, Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale, Black Phone 2, HIM, The Phoenician Scheme, Super Mario World, Shrek, and Minions,” the website reads.
In October last year, actor Keegan-Michael Key, the voice of Toad in the Mario movies, said of the sequel that it will be “a little broader in scope” and that it will “widen out the universe.” A title such as Super Mario World would certainly fit with that kind kind of scope, while it would, of course, also be a great way to exploit the nostalgia of fans of the beloved SNES 2D platforming classic of the same name.
For now, we’re going to have to wait for official word on what the next Mario movie will be called and what it’ll bring to the table, but hopefully the wait won’t be too long.
