• Love, Death & Robots Is A Love Letter To Sci-Fi, Animation, and Adaptation

Netflix has no shortage of options when it comes to science fiction programming and experimental anthology series, but Love, Death + Robots is an especially beautiful love letter to science fiction’s chameleonic nature and endless versatility. The unpredictable animated anthology series combines sci-fi with comedy, horror, fantasy, mystery, and romance as it brings gripping genre literature to life through a modern lens. In doing so, Love, Death + Robots doesn’t just celebrate science fiction; it helps it evolve.
Sci-fi is a revelatory storytelling genre that can open the audience’s mind and forever change their perception of reality. The best of it probes, inspires, and admonishes, which is exactly what Tim Millerand Jennifer Yuh Nelsonstrive for in Love, Death + Robots, now in its fourth season. Nothing is off-limits in the series, whether it’s a cat-fueled dystopia, gladiatorial combat atop dinosaurs, or a poet’s feud with Satan. The show aims to create the same level of jubilation in its viewers as those who discovered these short stories for the first time.

Pretty much all the vignettes have been based on short stories that Tim’s read throughout his life,” explains Nelson, Love, Death + Robots’ supervising director. “We have hundreds of these stories just piled up.”
There’s a true passion for the source material that helps Love, Death + Robots excel. This enormous collection of genre classics gets carefully selected as each new season takes shape.

“We try to curate the perfect mix. So we have a little something for everybody,” creator Miller elaborates. This has been one of the secrets to Love, Death + Robots’ success. Each collection of episodes is truly unique and feels like a pulpy paperback of short stories. In fact, Love, Death + Robots has even published collections of each season’s stories. “All the money goes to the authors,” Miller proudly adds. “We want people to read the stories! Forget about making them into movies.”
Love, Death + Robots has resonated with science fiction fans who appreciate captivating and concise storytelling. That being said, Love, Death + Robots is also a visual extravaganza that pushes just as many boundaries in animation. Four seasons in, the series
“Often, we choose the director and the animation studio according to their specialty,” Nelson explains as she continues to break down the meticulous nature of this process. “If we have two tentpole episodes that look a certain way, then we want to make sure that those episodes are going to look vastly different from each other.” For instance, Titmouse’s impressionistic work on Volume IV’s “How Zeke Got Religion” actively enhances the story. “You need to find their thing,” Nelson adds in reference to Love, Death + Robots’ roster of animation studios and what they each bring to the table.
“It’s important for us, especially for this series, to make sure that we’re really showcasing the whole breadth of animation,” asserts Nelson. “Sometimes these directors are very much pioneers in what they do, and no one else is doing what they do. That’s why we end up working with them.” Photo-realistic 3D animation, stop-motion, traditional 2D visuals, and stop-motion are just some of the animation styles on display in Love, Death + Robots. The series has even increasingly dipped its toe into live-action stories that blur the lines between reality and animation. “Rarely do you see such a showcase of animation like this,” Nelson says. “This is a way to show new ideas, new looks, and new innovation by different directors and studios around the world.”
Miller reiterates that it’s a deeply collaborative process where the animation studios have just as much agency as the storytellers.
“We push it in the initial direction, and then the directors come in and do their pitch.” The final product becomes a synthesis of ideas that are built upon ambition and taking risks. “We try to give them as much freedom as we can,” Miller emphasizes. This relationship has paid off well, earning the animated series 13 Primetime Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Short Form Animated Program and Outstanding Individual Achievement in Animation. The series’ latest batch of episodes is likely to add to this already impressive collection of accolades.

Love, Death + Robots’ 45 episodes provide a broad, brave mix of everything that science fiction and animation have to offer. However, the series continues to look forward and is determined to surpass these heights. “We’ve got a lot of stories,” boasts Miller. “I have the next season—seasons, actually—picked out.” And while there were previously spin-offs and off-shoots in consideration, Love, Death + Robots is the perfect incubator for these stories, whether they’re two minutes or 20 minutes. “The beauty of the show is that we’d never get some of these ideas made if we were asking to do a feature,” admits Miller.

Love, Death + Robots plays by its own rules and continues to redefine anthology storytelling. It’s still the only series where fans can alternate between a string puppet rock concert and Russian Civil War soldiers fighting ancient supernatural evils.
“There’s still a lot of room to do new and innovative things that we haven’t done before,” Miller insists. “Although we always seem to end up with too many cat stories. I can’t really explain that.”

  • Silent Hill 2 Remake PS5 Pro Fixes Are Still in the Works, Bloober Team Reiterates

Silent Hill 2’s incredible 2024 remake was one of several titles that pledged early support for the PS5 Pro upon the console’s launch last year- though it didn’t quite pan out perfectly. Though the survival horror remake did receive some enhancements on Sony’s more powerful console, its PS5 Pro update also brought with it a host of technical issues. Patches were released to address some of those issues, but many still persisted, with Konami and developer Bloober Team promising further patches and fixes.
Updates have dried up since then, however, prompting some to wonder whether those fixes are still on the way. In a statement to Eurogamer, Bloober Team has confirmed that they are indeed. The developer says it is working with Konami on “a solution” and will have more information to share… at some point.
“We’re working with the publisher on a solution and will share more details as soon as we have them,” the developer said when asked about a PS5 Pro patch for Silent Hill 2.

  • Samsung Tri-Fold Smartphone Price Tipped to Exceed $3,000; Launch Timeline Leaked

Samsung is having a busy 2025, and it is turning out to be a year with noteworthy product releases. The brand's Galaxy S25 Ultra model got a refreshed design, this was followed up by the recent launch of its Galaxy S25 Edge. But it appears that Samsung has more up its sleeves, as its Galaxy Z Fold 7 book-style foldable is set to get big upgrades this year. A new foldable model is also said to be in the works, and it could debut as tri-fold smartphone. The price and launch timeline for this device has now leaked online.Tipster Yogesh Brar claims that Samsung's tri-fold device is set for launch in Q3 2025. This contradicts an earlier report, which claimed that the bigger foldable will debut much later after the Galaxy Z series releases this year. The leaker reiterates information that was previously leaked — that the Samsung tri-fold model will see a limited release and that it will only go on sale in South Korea and China. The purported tri-fold Galaxy smartphone will see limited production, meaning that the device will be available in limited quantities. It remains unclear whether Samsung will ramp up production, depending on demand at the moment. However, given its expected price tag that should be betweento, such a device may only see a few takers. While regular book-style foldables have a large display with a single hinge, Samsung is expected to go the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate route and launch a device with two hinges instead. We have seen some patent leaks in the past that indicate similar layouts, one with two hinges and another with three hinges and four connected panels as well. Indeed, these foldables will open out into full-size tablets instead of the current state of foldables, which basically gives a user the width of two regular smartphone displays side-by-side.

  • Kuo: No major AirPods hardware updates until AirPods Pro 3 in 2026

Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo today tweeted that he does not forecast major updates to the AirPods lineup coming this year. Instead, he reiterates that new AirPods Pro with Infrared cameras are set to arrive in 2026.
This contradicts reporting from other publications that have suggested AirPods Pro 3 will launch in 2025, including new features such as improved active noise cancellation.

This claim seems a little sketchy given AirPods Pro 2 are approaching three years old, and as Apple’s most popular and most profitable AirPods model, it would be unusual for the company to let them languish for so long.
One of the rumored features for the next-gen AirPods Pro was the inclusion of a heart rate monitor. The heart rate capability has already debuted in the new Powerbeats Pro 4.
Apple also stole much of the AirPods Pro thunder with the launch of the cheaper AirPods 4 line in the fall last year, adding features like Active Noise Cancellation in wireless earbuds priced as low as However, while Apple has not released a new hardware generation of AirPods Pro since 2022, the company has continued to expand what the headphones can do through software updates. Most notably, AirPods Pro 2 are now able to act as licensed hearing aids, correcting for mild-to-moderate hearing loss.
The news is even bleaker for over-ear AirPods Max users, who may not see a new revision until 2027 at the earliest.

Are you waiting for new AirPods Pro? Let us know in the comments below. NVIDIA CEO's visit to Taiwan around the Computex timeline is indeed a memorable moment, especially when it comes to the iconic dinner Team Green holds with members of Taiwan's business community.
NVIDIA's CEO Claims TSMC Will Have a Lot To Do Moving Forward, Reiterates Commitment To Taiwan As Well
Jensen's visit to Taiwan this year holds significance way higher than any other time of the year, given that at the Computex 2025 event, NVIDIA disclosed what it anticipates for the future. Not just this, but it is likely the time of year when Jensen meets up with its Taiwanese partners to formulate the future strategy. But, the dinner NVIDIA's CEO holds with executives in Taiwan is indeed a highlight, and this time as well, Taiwan Economic Daily spotted Jensen at a local restaurant, where not only met the likes of TSMC, MediaTek and Quanta executives, but was also seen talking to the media, in particular distributing them free meals and drinks.

Interestingly, when meeting with TSMC's Chairman CC Wei, Jensen revealed that TSMC has a lot of work coming their way, suggesting that the AI supply chain is yet again expected to witness a "boom" in operations, credited to the demand NVIDIA now faces from partners other than the Big Tech, notably Middle East firms. Jensen also claimed that Team Green has plans to build large-scale data centers in Taiwan and that the region is an integral part of the company's business moving into the future.

NVIDIA's CEO also revealed that the firm is working with its Chinese partners as well, and they should expect a "new solution" pretty soon. Jensen isn't like the other traditional executives out there, as the Taiwan media claimed that he spent most of the time interacting with the public, responding to media's questions and even entertaining them with souvenirs, which shows that he indeed has a hospitable nature. This is what sets him apart, and his nature is one of the reasons for how far NVIDIA has come in the tech industry.
As to when we can see Jensen the next time, it will probably be at his Computex 2025 keynote, which is set to start a few hours from now. Like always, we'll be there live on the showfloor, providing you with the latest updates.

MrBeast's latest video, in which he visits ancient Mayan temples, is causing a stir in Mexico.
A government agency said it's filing suit against a production company that worked with the YouTuber.
"It is unfortunate that this has turned into a political issue," a person close to MrBeast told BI.

MrBeast's latest video has captured the attention of the Mexican government, and even President Claudia Sheinbaum has weighed in.Earlier this week, the YouTube star — whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson — posted a video exploring several ancient Mayan temples, including Chichen Itza."Can't believe the government's letting us do this," the 27-year-old says in the video, after which he reiterates in a voiceover, "Not even archaeologists are allowed to go back here."In the description of the video, which has 60 million views and counting, Donaldson wrote that the video was filmed "in collaboration with the Mexican Tourism Board," and he thanked the National Institute of Anthropology and History, a government agency that works to preserve Mexico's cultural heritage.CNN reported there was initially controversy around Donaldson's access to the sites. On Monday, the INAH said in a statement that the necessary permits had been processed and that INAH personnel were supervising the recordings at all times. The INAH added that the video seemed to involve extensive post-production work and allude to events that never occurred, including a helicopter descent onto one of the temples and the handling of an ancient mask.On Wednesday, Sheinbaum spoke publicly about the video. CNN reported that she asked the INAH to report the conditions under which the production permit had been granted. If the permit was violated, she added, then sanctions must be determined.'It is unfortunate that this has turned into a political issue'On Thursday, the INAH said in a thread on X that it was bringing a lawsuit against a production company called Full Circle Media that worked with Donaldson on the video. Donaldson himself isn't facing any legal action. The thread alludes to a moment near the end of the video, when Donaldson is enjoying a traditional Mayan feast. After dinner, he brings out a box of Feastables peanut butter cups for dessert, joking that it's the "only Mayan-approved snack on the planet."The INAH on X said that while it is open to collaboration to disseminate Mexico's cultural heritage, it condemned those who detract from the value of archaeological sites for commercial gain.It said the permit granted to Full Circle Media did not authorize the publication of false information or the use of the sites for advertising. The INAH is demanding compensation for damages and a public retraction.Full Circle Media didn't immediately respond to a request for comment."This video, similar to the one of the pyramids in Egypt, was meant to highlight these treasured Mexican sites," a source close to MrBeast told Business Insider. "No advertisement material was shot on any archaeological sites overseen by INAH, so it is unfortunate that this has turned into a political issue — hopefully it can lead to a productive dialogue and encourage people to visit these unique historical treasures."

  • SoundCloud changes its TOS again after an AI uproar

Music-sharing platform SoundCloud is saying it “has never used artist content to train AI models,” and that it’s “making a formal commitment that any use of AI on SoundCloud will be based on consent, transparency, and artist control.” The update comes several days after artists reported that changes made last year to its terms of use could mean it reserved the right to use their music and other content to train generative AI tools.“The language in the Terms of Use was too broad and wasn’t clear enough. It created confusion, and that’s on us,” writes SoundCloud CEO Eliah Seton. The terms that SoundCloud is currently using were updated in February last year with text including this passage:In the absence of a separate agreement that states otherwise, You explicitly agree that your Content may be used to inform, train, develop or serve as input to artificial intelligence or machine intelligence technologies or services as part of and for providing the services.”But Seton says that “in the coming weeks,” that line will be replaced with this:We will not use Your Content to train generative AI models that aim to replicate or synthesize your voice, music, or likeness without your explicit consent, which must be affirmatively provided through an opt-in mechanism.Seton reiterates that SoundCloud has never used member content to train AI, including large language models, for music creation or to mimic or replace members’ work. And, echoing what a SoundCloud spokesperson told The Verge in an email over the weekend, Seton says if the company does use generative AI, it “may make this opportunity available to our human artists with their explicit consent, via an opt-in mechanism.”Ed Newton-Rex, the tech ethicist who first discovered the change, isn’t satisfied with the changes. In an X post, he says the tweaked language could still allow for “models trained on your work that might not directly replicate your style but that still compete with you in the market.” According to Rex, “If they actually want to address concerns, the change required is simple. It should just read “We will not use Your Content to train generative AI models without your explicit consent.” SoundCloud did not immediately respond to The Verge’s request for comment.See More:

  • Skyrim lead recalls Bethesda working their “a**es off” to make the game just 4.8GB as Oblivion Remastered sucks up 125GB

You can trust VideoGamer. Our team of gaming experts spend hours testing and reviewing the latest games, to ensure you're reading the most comprehensive guide possible. Rest assured, all imagery and advice is unique and original. Check out how we test and review games here

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is not just a massive game in scope, but also in file size. In bringing the game to modern platforms, the gorgeous remaster has ballooned in file size – a modern courtesy allowed by the rise of digital games and higher storage capacity consoles.
However, in an interview with VideoGamer, Oblivion and Skyrim designer Bruce Nesmith recalls the massive task of forcing the 2011 Elder Scrolls game to fit on a single dual-layer DVD, limiting the game’s file size to a maximum of 7GB. In the end, the team managed to squeeze the entire game into just 4.8GB on Xbox 360.
Nowadays, the Special Edition of that same game is around 22GB with all of the previously released DLC, but Nesmith still recalls the huge effort by Bethesda to make sure the game could be played directly off a single disc for all players.
“You can thank our programming and artists because they worked their asses off to get that to happen,” Nesmith explained. “You know, compression methods, optimal reuse of our assets, you know. We were really squeezing the most out of our art on Xbox 360.”

Check a look at this for some heavy nostalgia
Nesmith revealed that it was “really tricky getting itto work on the two consoles” with the infamously horrible PlayStation 3 port being previously described as a Herculean effort to get working even in the state it was in.
In bringing Skyrim to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, Bethesda not only increased the quality of its assets, but also implemented new effects such as sparkling snow shaders and other minor additions. While the core programming of the game took up very little space, the enhanced version of the epic RPG was over 4 times bigger in file size.
For The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, that comparison is laughable as the newly rendered RPG massively expands the original game’s 4GB file size to a whopping 125GB. Nesmith reiterates that the vast majority of all modern game file sizes are due to the incredibly high quality of art. 3D models drive millions of polygons, 4K textures are insanely large and audio takes up “a significant space” as well.
“The vast majority of that is art,” he explained. “Whether it’s animations or textures or models, usually it’s textures. One of the things I was always slapped in the face with when I worked therewas, well, ‘I wanna store all this data, is that going to be too much?’ and the programmer would look at me like, ‘that’s less than the texture on an apple. Yes, you can have your data.’”
This single apple file, a seemingly unambitious asset, is larger than the vast amount of systems programming in terms of file size.
With this in mind, The Elder Scrolls 6 will undoutedly be a massive game over 100GB, especially considering the file size of Skyrim. While there are compression techniques to make file sizes smaller, this comes at the cost of loading times, a reality that Nesmith has described as a “neccessary bane of Bethesda games” as the are.
“Everybody who complains about them assumes that it’s done because we’re lazy or we don’t want to follow the modern thinking on stuff,” the designer told VideoGamer. “The reality is the Bethesda games are so detailed and so graphics intensive… you just cant have both present at the same time.”
As the demand for better visual fidelity continues, just look at the latest GTA 6 trailer for proof of that, game sizes will undoubtedly become bigger and bigger. If Oblivion Remastered is 125GB, just how big will Elder Scrolls 6 be?

Skyrim lead recalls Bethesda working their “a**es off” to make the game just 4.8GB as Oblivion Remastered sucks up 125GB

Rest assured, all imagery and advice is unique and original. Check out how we test and review games here The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is not just a massive game in scope, but also in file size. We were really squeezing the most out of our art on Xbox 360.” Check a look at this for some heavy nostalgia Nesmith revealed that it was “really tricky getting itto work on the two consoles” with the infamously horrible PlayStation 3 port being previously described as a Herculean effort to get working even in the state it was in. Yes, you can have your data.’” This single apple file, a seemingly unambitious asset, is larger than the vast amount of systems programming in terms of file size. “The reality is the Bethesda games are so detailed and so graphics intensive… you just cant have both present at the same time.” As the demand for better visual fidelity continues, just look at the latest GTA 6 trailer for proof of that, game sizes will undoubtedly become bigger and bigger. If Oblivion Remastered is 125GB, just how big will Elder Scrolls 6 be? • SpaceX to FCC: We Can Supply a GPS Alternative Through Starlink

As the Federal Communications Commission considers GPS alternatives, SpaceX says its Starlink satellites are already up for the task. The company made its pitch in a Wednesday letter to the FCC after the commission kicked off a public inquiry about developing alternatives to GPS, which has long been run through a single provider, the US Defense Department.  The FCC’s goal is to usher in Positioning, Navigation, and Timingsolutions to complement GPS. In response, SpaceX sent a five-page letter that noted: "One opportunity stands out as a particularly ripe, low-hanging fruit: facilitating the rapid deployment of next-generation low-Earth orbitsatellite constellations that can deliver PNT as a service alongside high-speed, low-latency broadband and ubiquitous mobile connectivity.”The letter says SpaceX has already been working on a PNT system for its cellular Starlink service, which is in public beta and will launch through T-Mobile in July. “SpaceX has also been actively working to integrate PNT solutions into its direct-to-device commercial service offerings,” the company wrote. “In so doing, SpaceX can advance the Commission’s goal in this proceeding to maintain American leadership in next-generation PNT services both here at home and in over 130 countries it serves around the world.”SpaceX didn't say how it would offer the PNT system for public use, writing only that “SpaceX looks forward to playing an integral role in creating a more robust, resilient, and secure PNT ecosystem for Americans and people around the world.”Recommended by Our EditorsThe letter also notes that Starlink satellites can already operate independent of GPS. “This capability not only allows those systems to operate unhindered even if GPS is unavailable, it also sets the foundation for future solutions that can use any authorized frequency to deliver accurate, reliable, and resilient PNT to any end user device," it says.SpaceX previously told the FCC it's advocating for a “technology-neutral approach” with GPS alternatives. Wednesday’s letter reiterates the point, preaching for the development of a “diversified and robust” PNT ecosystem. That said, SpaceX took some shots at Hughesnet’s parent EchoStar, alleging the company’s control of the 2GHz radio spectrum for a mobile satellite serviceremains unused. The FCC might agree. On Monday, the agency began soliciting public comment about whether EchoStar is utilizing the 2GHz band for MSS consistent with the terms of its authorizations and the Commission’s rules and policies governing the expectation of robust MSS.”In the meantime, SpaceX isn’t alone in trying to pitch its satellite services as a backup to GPS. Apple satellite provider Globalstar also sent a letter to the FCC about how its services “can function as either an alternative or a complement to GPS.”“Notably, Globalstar’s satellites transmit outside of the L-band, which provides PNT users with added immunity from GPS jamming and spoofing,” the company said. “In addition, Globalstar’s satellite transmissions at 2.4GHz are stronger than GPS signals, bolstering resilience, performance, and reliability.”
