On paper, the Galaxy S25 Ultra features a more superior and versatile camera configuration than the Galaxy S25 Edge, and since it is more expensive, consumers will immediately assume that it is the better purchase. However, in a surprise revelation, a tipster showcases the first camera comparison between the two flagships, with Samsung’s ultra-sleek offering actually producing better results in 4x zoom. As for how this is possible, one explanation is that the company has employed better algorithms that deliver these upgrades. Samsung has claimed that the primary 200MP belonging to the Galaxy S25 Edge is capable of capturing 2x optical zoom-quality shots The Galaxy S25 Edge arrived in the possession of known tipster Ice Universe, and given that it comes with a $1,099 price tag for the 256GB storage version, the hardware present in the device needed to justify the ludicrous sum the customers needs to pay. Immediately, the tipster commenced a camera shootout, in which he compared the Galaxy S25 Edge and the Galaxy S25 Ultra. To his surprise, the primary and telephoto units of the Korean giant’s top-end offering ended up delivering sub-par quality. During the announcement, Samsung mentioned that the Galaxy S25 Edge’s primary 200MP shooter can capture 2x optical zoom-like images, but on this occasion, what we are seeing is the 4x zoom in action, along with a ‘side by side’ comparison of the two smartphones. There is less noise and more detail from the Galaxy S25 Edge snap, and we believe it is thanks to improved algorithms, better processing, and superior computational photography that is baked into the ultra-slim flagship’s software. Whether Samsung brings the same improvements to the entire Galaxy S25 family is another story, as we have yet to hear of such an update. Then again, it is possible that the company purposely delayed the Galaxy S25 Edge’s launch so that its team diligently works on improving the camera, despite the device shipping with just two primary sensors. Samsung’s long-teased Galaxy S25 Edge has arrived, way ahead of the rumored iPhone Air. It’s a very S25-looking device, but the company is pitching it as a design-centric addition to its, let’s admit, bulging S25 family. The S25 Edge’s body is 5.8 millimeters (0.22 inches) thick if we ignore the camera bump like everyone else does. Granted, it’s not a huge bump. Samsung says it engineered the lenses to be substantially thinner than those on the S25 Ultra while keeping the same 200-megapixel camera sensor. And there are only two cameras on the back this time. Gasp! Unfortunately, Samsung has gone for an ultrawide secondary shooter rather than a telephoto, likely due to the handset's size constraints.
