As Doctor Who prepared to return for its latest season, rumors swirled that it would be a make-or-break moment for the show, as threats of Disney terminating its funding deal for the series and even outright cancellation loomed. But while we’re not quite at the point of finding out what Disney’s stake in Doctor Who‘s future might be, a new report suggests that the end is far from nigh for the Time Lord regardless. A new report from British tabloid The Daily Mirror suggests that, despite recent reports that Doctor Who could be cancelled, or at the least go on an extend hiatus, plans are in place for the series to continue regardless of whatever decision Disney makes about its co-funding deal to distribute the series on Disney+ internationally. Disney executives, while speaking positively about its support of the show, have also previously stated that any further continuation of the co-funding deal would only be made after reviewing Doctor Who‘s ratings with the conclusion of the current season. According to The Mirror, whether or not Disney renews the deal, Doctor Who will take a break in 2026 and return to screens in 2027 (whether or not that will see Ncuti Gatwa bow out as the Doctor in the process remains to be seen), with the spinoff UNIT series The War Between Land and Sea set to fill the gap for Who fans next year. The tabloid further suggests that Russell T Davies will carry on as showrunner, with scripts currently in the works for at least two more seasons. Whether or not Disney renews its funding support may also not have as great an impact on Doctor Who itself, either. The Mirror’s report suggests that much of the approximately roughly ₤10 million of funding per episode was spent on the technical cost of improving Doctor Who‘s visual effects for streaming in 4K quality, something the series would be able to cut back on if it returned to being solely funded by the BBC, which streams high-definition programming at 2K. With just three episodes left of the current series to broadcast, more definitive information on the future of Doctor Who is no doubt coming soon. Matt Damon’s Ryan feels like the kind of man worth saving and does a lot with a relatively small amount of screen time. Jeremy Davies, Adam Goldberg, and Tom Sizemore are also standouts, as is a young Vin Diesel, who had not yet become an action icon. By contrast, researchers tailored Muldoon’s therapy to correct a specific genetic sequence in his genome.Muldoon had inherited two mutations, one from each parent, that meant that he did not produce the normal form of a crucial enzyme called carbamoyl phosphate synthetase 1 (CPS-1). This compromised his ability to process the nitrogen-containing compounds produced when the body breaks down protein. As a result, his blood had high levels of ammonia, a compound that is particularly toxic to the brain.The best treatment for CPS-1 deficiency is a liver transplant, but it would be months before Muldoon became eligible. Meanwhile, each day brought added risk of brain damage or death: only about half of babies with severe CPS-1 deficiency survive long enough to receive a transplant.Ahrens-Nicklas decided to offer the family another option. She and her colleagues had been working with a CRISPR-based technique called base editing, which can make targeted, single-letter changes to DNA sequences. The team was developing ways to quickly and safely tailor a base-editing therapy to correct an individual’s particular mutations. Perhaps now it was time to try the approach in humans, she thought.With the approval of Muldoon’s parents, the researchers enlisted a lengthy roster of collaborators. The team quickly screened for the best base-editing approach and tested it in mice and monkeys. Companies donated proprietary expertise and components. The US Food and Drug Administration fast-tracked its evaluation of the treatment.Rapid deploymentIn just six months, Muldoon received his first dose — a “remarkable” achievement, says Waseem Qasim, a pediatrician at the University College London Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health, who has used base editing to engineer immune cells to fight cancer.After that initial dose, Muldoon could safely eat the amount of protein recommended for his age, but still needed medications to keep his ammonia levels in check. With a second round of the therapy, the researchers were able to reduce the amount of medicines needed, but could not eliminate his need to take them.Muldoon has since received a third and final dose. His clinicians are carefully reducing his medication dosage, little by little, says Ahrens-Niklas.It’s unclear how this approach could be expanded to treat others with ultra-rare diseases: even when designed to treat hundreds of people, gene therapies and gene-editing therapies are notoriously expensive. “There’s no great answer to this,” says Qasim.For now, each milestone that Muldoon reaches is a tiny miracle to his parents. Nightmare skins are a type of weapon skin in Doom: The Dark Ages. By equipping them, you can customize your guns to look as cool as the killing sprees you perform with them — but you do have to find these skins first. Skins can be easily equipped in Doom: The Dark Ages by accessing the dossier and selecting the gun in your arsenal. Just press the command to open the skin selection screen and get one you enjoy the most. Nightmare skins are located on the map and indicated by the symbol of a brush. While it’s not tough to pinpoint their locations, reaching those locations is the true challenge. In this in-progress Doom: The Dark Ages guide, we’ll go over all Nightmare skins we’ve found so far. How to get all the Nightmare skins in Doom: The Dark Age Nightmare skins encompasses the weapon skins obtainable during the levels of the game as collectibles. Every weapon in the game has a corresponding Nightmare skin. While skins don’t add effect to your guns, making them stronger or better, they make them look cool. That’s all you probably need. Below, we’ll show you where to find all Nightmare skins we’ve found so far. Combat Shotgun (Village of Khalim) The first skin you get in the game is the Nightmare Combat Shotgun and it is located in the Village of Khalim, in the segment of the level after you have opened the gate using the blue key. You will need to clear the area by killing the enemies and closing the hell gates. After killing the initial group of enemies, go left while facing the giant statue and enter the first entrance.  There will be more enemies for you to face here. Clear the area and follow the only path accessible now. When you get into the corridor, the entrances will become blocked by a red wall. The only way to open them is to kill all the demons inside — as expected. When you get out of the corridor, you will be facing a portal. Turn right here and approach the edge. From there, you can see an entrance to the room where the skin is located. To reach it, you need to take some distance, run and press the jump button right as you approach the edge of the cliff. Shredder (Hebeth) The Shredder’s Nightmare skin is in the second level in the game, Hebeth. Make sure to progress in the main mission until you’re in the segment named “Defend Hebeth.” You eventually get inside a facility where you can see the brush symbol in a short corridor on a higher level on the map. By following the initial corridor, you reach a point where you must use the Shield Recall Jump to cross to the other side. On the other side, you will find a Sentinel Shrine. Climb the wall beside it and reach the next section. Look to your left to find a few boxes and an opened hatch above them. Since it has the yellow marks, it means you can climb it. Use the boxes to reach the hatch and enter a pathway in the upper level. Follow the trail of gold and it will lead you to an opening. Use it to access the room where the Shredder Nightmare skin is located! Accelerator (Sentinel Barracks) Finding the Accelerator’s Nightmare skin is pretty simple. Once you have unlocked Chapter 4 “Sentinel Barracks,” you should progress in the “Get to the Aratum” mission. Eventually, you will reach a square surrounded by some buildings with a tree in the center. From the path you came, look to the right side of the square and you will see the tallest building in the area. It has two large towers and an opening between them. The skin icon is already appearing on your map by the time you get near the building. Now, facing the building, go left and climb the stairs. They take ill to a group of survivors who are hiding. Behind them, the Nightmare skin is waiting for you. Pulverizer (The Holy City of Aratum) Pulverizer already has an interesting look, but if you want to pump it up, be sure to get its Nightmare Skin. You can find it in Chapter 5 “The Holy City of Aratum” right at the beginning of the mission. Get your dragon and fly to the center of the city. Then, descend to reach the lowest part of it where you will see a large circular structure surrounded by three pillars. There are two Titans protecting the place, so be sure to kill them. Otherwise, the landing spot won’t appear for you. Once you set foot in the central area, start by going to where there is a single enemy and a button on the ground. Now, jump from the edge next to the button to access the lower segment of the map. Turn left, enter a long corridor and keep following it to find the Pulverizer’s Nightmare skin. Impaler (Siege – Part 1) The Nightmare skin for the Impaler is found in Chapter 6 “Siege – Part 1”, which has a massive map and you can get lost pretty quickly. But before you can start thinking about heading to where the skin is located, you need to grab the Purple Key. Start your way from the initial gate and head forward. Be careful since there are lots of enemies. It won’t take long for you to see the large flying Purple Key indicating where they actual key is located. Just clear the area and grab it. Now, go back to the main gate and, while facing the battlefield, go to the left side of the map, following the arrows indicated on our map. You will reach an area with a small segment of the wall with yellow marks. Climb it and follow the small corridor. You will find an immense box in the center of the next room. Turn left to find a Purple Door. Since you already have the key, it will automatically unlock and you can go grab the Impaler’s Nightmare skin. The company says that the updates, which are coming to Insiders first, are aimed at making the Home page more "personal, flexible, and responsive." From the new options, the first one lets Xbox players hide the system apps that appear when they seek through the 'recently played games and apps list' on Home. The company says that this should keep players focused on their games and entertainment while also reducing clutter. Next, players will be able to pin up to three games or apps straight to the 'recently played games and apps list'. Even when other games are played, the pinned titles will remain available up front in Home for quick access. Lastly, Microsoft is also working on letting players have a more minimal look in Home, reducing the number of tiles that appear in the 'recently played games and apps list'. It's still said to be working on refining this Reduce Tile Count option, so it won't be rolling out to Insiders just yet. As for why the company has gone this route for adding more tweaking options, it said: "We’ve heard from many of you that Home should feel more like your space. Whether it’s surfacing your favorite games, hiding what you don’t use, or simply making Home feel less crowded, this update is a direct response to that feedback." Microsoft will be rolling out the new options to Xbox Insiders in the Alpha Skip-Ahead and Alpha rings first. Ventura's detailed allegations of prolonged abuse, coercion, and exploitation have dominated headlines and social media feeds, making the coverage inescapable. For many, this constant exposure brings up waves of complex feelings, including pain, anger, confusion, or even numbness. And for those of us with a personal history of trauma, these waves may at times feel like a tsunami.This collective reaction is not only understandable, it’s deeply human.As a trauma therapist and mental health professional who has worked alongside hundreds of survivors of interpersonal violence with a focus on human trafficking and sexual violence, I want to offer a framework for understanding what many of us are experiencing, and gentle tools for protecting our mental health as we navigate this moment. You May Also Like Our reactions are personal and validThere is no single way to respond to trauma exposure. Our reactions are shaped by our own lived experiences, including any past histories of violence. They are intersectional based on our identities, the communities we belong to, and the broader histories of injustice we carry. They are also adaptive as our minds are constantly working to make meaning, to find understanding, and ultimately, to protect us.Sometimes, this means we feel an intense pull to learn more. We read every article, scroll through every comment thread, or watch every video in the hope that information might help us feel a little safer, more in control, or closer to justice. This search for meaning is not a flaw; it is a natural function of a brain seeking safety and clarity in a world that can often feel unsafe and chaotic.When meaning-making becomes overexposureThere can be a point where our quest for meaning tips into overexposure, sending us into a state of disregulation. When we're pushed beyond that range, we may shift into hyper-arousal, where we feel speedy, agitated, angry, panicked, or unable to stop scrolling. Or we might move into hypo-arousal, where we feel numb, detached, exhausted, or checked out.In hyper-arousal, we might feel compelled to argue with strangers in the comments section or rapidly consume articles. In hypo-arousal, we might shut down, avoid contact with others, or feel disconnected from our bodies and emotions. Both are nervous system responses to overwhelming situations, and both are signs that we need care, not judgment.Recognizing disregulationHere are a few signs that our media consumption may be impacting our mental health:Losing track of time while reading about the caseFeeling emotionally exhausted or detached after reading updatesTrouble sleeping or concentrating after trial exposure Thoughts of our own past experiences of violence arising Spiraling into despair, hopelessness, rage, or any intense emotional stateFeeling disconnected from your bodyIf you recognize yourself in any of these, you are not alone. This response is an adaptive human reaction to graphic trauma exposure. Talk to someone you trust. Community care is essential to healing.Practice grounding. Sensory-based techniques like holding a cold object, naming five things you see, and engaging your full five senses can bring you back into your body.Seek support. Whether through therapy, community support, or a trusted friend, reaching out to others to process what is happening can be an important lifeline. So, getting some good Burn Pictos/Lumina going is gonna be pretty effective here, same for letting Sciel load up some Foretell. Screenshot: Sandfall Interactive / Justin Clark / KotakuSo, the second you get control, you’re gonna want to spend the AP to Free Aim and shatter the lamps floating around Lampmaster’s head before they fire a couple of hard-hitting projectiles at you. Feel free to take out all four, but if you’ve got the reflexes, you can keep one lamp alive just to parry that shot for massive damage. Aside from that, Lampmaster’s got a fairly basic move set of combos and jump attacks. The big issue is that there’s so many goddamn arms that it’s hard to figure out where the hit’s coming from. The easy tip is that only one of the arms is holding the sword, but even that can be hard to see at this stage thanks to the dark background. Still, if you can get a visual grasp on it, that’s what you’re keying off of.The only other move of note is an energy blast where the lights in their hands turn purple and they hit you with a wave of Dark energy. The dodge timing on that is that it’s hitting after the second gathering of purple energy. Go with the visual cue on that.Aside from those, they have no weaknesses and is only resistant to Light. You’re mostly just laying into this guy with any and everything you’ve got. Stack up a ton of Burns and Overdrives, that lifebar will go down fast. Here, their sword combo is now four hits and has some genuinely weird delays and timing that makes it hard to dodge. Best we can tell you there is that their sword will shake a little before the first hit swings down; and the big delay is between the second and third hits. The good news is it’s easier to see them against the new backdrop, and no individual hit in the combo is dangerous on its own, just try your damndest not to eat all four strikes. They also get a second four-hit combo that’s easier to dodge, but the final hit has them flying backwards to charge at you. There’s a subtle audio cue when the charge is coming, and it’s easily parried. Take advantage of that. The real new shit in their arsenal includes a move where they summon a sword made of light after a strange ritual with the lamps. The dodge timing on the sword of light’s not terrible, just wait for them to spin around after drawing the sword. But here’s a better idea: Stop them from pulling that shit in the first place. Just before he busts out the new sword, you’ll get a message about them performing a strange ritual with their lamps. The lamps in their hand will glow red in a particular order. Your job is to shoot those four lamps in Free Aim in that exact order. Get it right, and Sword of Light never happens, and you do a nice chunk of damage to Lampmaster in the process. They also have a Ball of Light attack that telegraphs itself from a mile away, but you’ll need to jump the attack. When they’re done for, you’ll get the At Death’s Door Picto along with a Shape of Life, some Chroma Catalysts, and some permanent emotional damage once a certain someone shows up and...well, you’ll see.
