  • Rocksteadys Next Batman Game Will Launch for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Next-Gen Consoles, Job Ad Suggests
    gamingbolt.com
Rocksteady Studios is seemingly ready to put the failure ofSuicide Squad: Kill the Justice Leaguein its rearview mirror and return to what it knows best with a newBatmangame. That game, however, is far away yet far enough away, in fact, that when it does arrive, it will seemingly be a cross-gen game releasing for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and their respective successors.Thats what a recent job ad suggests, at any rate. Spotted by a ResetEra user, a listing published by Rocksteady for a senior core engine programmer reveals that the studio is looking to release its next game on high-end PCs, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and the next generation of consoles.Of course, the listing doesnt specifically mention aBatmangame, instead referring to the project as an upcoming unannounced AAA title. However new single-player Batmangameiswhat Rocksteadys next AAA release will be, according to leaks. Plans could still change, especially given how early in development the game is right now, but for now, it looks like Rocksteady is eyeing a cross-gen release down the line.

  • Some Kindles now let you double-tap anywhere to turn the page
    www.theverge.com
The latest Kindle update brings a useful new feature to the 12th-generation Paperwhite and Colorsoft. | Photo by Andrew Liszewski / The VergeAmazon has released a software update for the current-generation Colorsoft and Paperwhite that lets you double-tap on the sides or back of your Kindle to turn the page. The new feature, as spotted by The eBook Reader, is listed in the release notes for the 5.18.1 update and can be found in Settings > Device Options. The new software wasnt immediately available as an over-the-air update for my Kindle Colorsoft, but I was able to download it and install it manually following Amazons instructions. The feature works well using relatively light taps anywhere on the Colorsoft, and since it requires two taps in rapid succession, its not easy to trigger by mistake. Unfortunately, its limited to just one direction. You can either use it to jump to the next page, or scroll down a long list of books. Perhaps a future update will enable triple-taps as a way to scroll up or go back to a previous page.Although the 5.18.1 software update is also available for older versions of the entry-level Kindle, Paperwhite, Scribe, and Oasis, the new double-tap feature is only available for the Colorsoft and 12th-generation Paperwhite, Amazon spokesperson Connor Rice confirmed to The Verge.Update, March 26th: Added confirmation from an Amazon spokesperson.

  • Amazon Has Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Prebuilt Gaming PCs Starting at $2200
    www.ign.com
The GeForce RTX 5070 Ti graphics card was released in late February for $749.99, but good luck finding one at that price. As with the rest of the Blackwell lineup, everyone from personal sellers to the manufacturers themselves have joined in on the price markup bonanza. Fortunately there's a way to get around these shenanigans, and that is by purchasing a prebuilt gaming PC instead. Amazon is currently offering CyberPowerPC and Skytech RTX 5070 Ti gaming desktops starting at $2,299.99. That's a reasonable price considering the fact that the RTX 5070 Ti has proven to be nearly identical in performance (within 5%) to the RTX 4080 Super.CyberPowerPC RTX 5070 Ti Prebuilt Gaming PCs on AmazonCyberPowerPC Gamer Xtreme VR Intel Core i9-14900F RTX 5070 Ti Gaming PC (32GB/2TB)$2,299.99 at AmazonCyberPowerPC Gamer Xtreme VR Intel Core i7-14700KF RTX 5070 Ti Gaming PC (32GB/2TB)$2,319.99 at AmazonCyberPowerPC Gamer Supreme AMD Ryzen 9 9900X RTX 5070 Ti Gaming PC (32GB/2TB)$2,329.99 at AmazonCyberPowerPC Gamer Supreme AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D RTX 5070 Ti Gaming PC (32GB/2TB)$2,429.99 at AmazonCyberPowerPC Gamer Xtreme VR Intel Core i9-14900KF RTX 5070 Ti Gaming PC (32GB/2TB)$2,429.99 at AmazonCyberPowerPC Gamer Xtreme VR Intel Core Ultra 9 285 RTX 5070 Ti Gaming PC (32GB/2TB)$2,479.99 at AmazonCyberPowerPC Gamer Supreme AMD Ryzen 9 9900X3D RTX 5070 Ti Gaming PC (32GB/2TB)$2,619.99 at AmazonCyberPowerPC Gamer Supreme AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D RTX 5070 Ti Gaming PC (64GB/4TB)$2,999.99 at AmazonSkytech RTX 5070 Ti Prebuilt Gaming PCs on AmazonClip the $300 Off CouponSkytech Rampage AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D RTX 5070 Ti Gaming PC (32GB/1TB)$2,199.99 at AmazonSkytech Rampage Intel Core i7-14700F RTX 5070 Ti Gaming PC (32GB/1TB)$2,299.99 at AmazonSkytech King 95 Intel i7-14700F RTX 5070 Ti Gaming PC (32GB/2TB)$2,299.99 at AmazonSkytech Rampage AMD Ryzen 7 9700X RTX 5070 Ti Gaming PC (32GB/1TB)$2,399.99 at AmazonSkytech O11 Vision AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D RTX 5070 Ti Gaming PC (32GB/1TB)$2,399.99 at AmazonSkytech King 95 AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D RTX 5070 Ti Gaming PC (32GB/1TB)$2,599.99 at AmazonOf all the Blackwell cards released thus far, the RTX 5070 Ti offers the best bang for your buck, especially when pitted against the previous generation GPUs. It performs neck-and-neck with the RTX 4080 Super and already marginalizes the RTX 5080, which is only about 10%-15% faster but costs 33% more. This GPU is capable of high framerates in nearly all games, even at 4K resolution with ray tracing enabled. Heck, even if you plan on using this card for AI, the RTX 5070 Ti might be the better value than the RTX 50870 since both are equipped with the same 16GB of GDDR7 VRAM.Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti GPU Review by Jacqueline Thomas"At $749, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti is the best 4K graphics card for most people, delivering much better value than either the RTX 5080 or 5090. Across my entire test suite, this GPU soared at 4K, coming within striking distance of much more expensive graphics cards, and thats before taking multi frame generation into account, which will make the RTX 5070 Ti even better at hitting extremely high framerates, albeit with a hit to latency."Alternative: Lenovo Legion RTX 4080 Super PC for $2,422.49Lenovo Legion Tower 7i Intel Core i9-14900KF RTX 4080 Super Gaming PC with 32GB RAM, 2TB SSDLenovo has dropped the price of its powerful Lenovo Legion Tower 7i Gen 8 RTX 4080 Super gaming PC to only $2,260.99 after coupon code: "EXTRAFIVE" . • Apple names Vanessa Trigub to new role as VP of retail stores
    9to5mac.com
Apple seems to be making some changes to its executive team. This time, the company is naming a global VP who will be in charge of Apples retail stores around the world.Apple has a new VP of retail storesAlthough the company is yet to confirm the news, Bloomberg reported on Wednesday that the company is promoting Vanessa Trigub as Apples vice president of stores and retail operations. Trigub previously managed locations in the Americas West region. Now shell oversee the heads of retail for Europe and the Middle East, Asia-Pacific and the Americas East region, the report says. While Trigub will have more responsibilities as VP of retail stores, Apple aims to simplify the retail organization with the new role. Currently, all retail operations are overseen by Deirdre OBrien. However, with the departure of Carol Surface, Apples first Chief People Officer, OBrien also took over the HR department.Trigub joined Apple in 2007 shortly after the launch of the first iPhone. She was responsible for a number of roles in the companys finances, mergers, and acquisitions. The report notes that OBrien will have fewer direct reports with the change. Instead of managing retail executives for each region, she will oversee Trigub in charge of retail stores.People familiar with the matter say that Apple sees Trigub as a potential replacement for OBrien once she decides to leave she has worked for the company for more than three decades. The news comes a week after Apple replaced Siri chief John Giannandrea with Mike Rockwell, current VP of Vision Pro.Gadgets I recommend:Add 9to5Mac to your Google News feed.
