If you have antivirus software, some offer a duplicate file finder that detects duplicate images, videos, and files stored on your Mac. However, if you keep a lot of photos outside the Photos app, running a strong antivirus software on your Mac storage can help clear space efficiently.Empty trashWhen you delete something on your Mac, it remains in the Trash folder and continues to occupy storage space until you empty the Trash. The Trash does not automatically hold files for a specific number of days unless you have enabled the "Empty Trash Automatically" feature, which can be set to remove items after 30 days. • Snow White Review Bombed Into The Worst Blockbuster In IMDB History
    www.forbes.com
Snow WhiteDisneyAs time has gone on, movie-goers have not just taken to social media to complain about movies, they have voted with 1 star ratings where they can, and that has now happened with Snow White, positively nuked into oblivion on IMDB with 227,000 reviews putting it at a 1.5/10, far and away the lowest score of not just every blockbuster of a similar budget, but almost all the movies on the entire site.Is Snow White that bad? Of course not, and this is all ridiculous. The movie has 91.1% 1-star scores, which creates a graph that looks like this:IMDBIMDBEvery time review bombing is brought up, there is always pushback saying that the movie is really that bad, but Im not sure Ive ever seen a more clear-cut case of a movie being purposefully review-nuked for culture war-adjacent reasons. In addition to that absurd chart, you can head over to Rotten Tomatoes to see that actual audience reception for Snow White. Yes, its critic scores are the lowest of all the major live-action Disney adaptation at a 41%. But audience scores, which Rotten Tomatoes uses verified ratings for to (mostly) ensure people who are voting have seen the film are all the way up at a 74%. Or, if this was IMDB, a 7.4/10. But IMDB allows for free voting for any user without any verification theyve watched the movie. And so, you get situations like this.Snow WhiteRotten TomatoesThe campaign against Snow White is more about a campaign against one actress, Rachel Zegler, where she has been harassed about everything from her race to her comments in interviews to her political statements supporting Palestine. That last item recently spawned a Variety story unfavorable to Zegler, relaying that a producer of the movie flew to New York to ask her to take down a Free Palestine tweet, which she refused to do. This is despite most critical reviews saying that if anything, shes the one bright spot of the entire movie. Is Snow White a great movie? The answer is no, not especially, though at least a decent amount of viewers seem to have liked it well enough. But if you want a mathematical demonstration of just how much hatred this movie, and more accurately, Zegler, has sparked online, look no further than these 227,000 reviews and that 1.5 score, which is lower than just an absurd amount of other bombs: Battlefield Earth, Dragonball Evolution, Gigli, Cats, Glitter, Catwoman, Rollerball and more, all of which are at least in the 2-3s/10.Zegler is now moving on to play the lead role in Evita in The West End from here, after a Broadway run of Romeo and Juliet. The question from here is whether Hollywood will continue to cast her in big films, given what a lightning rod shes become, even if its been no fault of her own and shes now been used as a scapegoat for what just isnt a very good movie.Follow me , and .Pick up my sci-fi novels the and

  • The Harry Potter HBO Show Finally Makes A Slam-Dunk Casting Choice
    www.forbes.com
Harry PotterWBThis article was published on 3/27 and republished on 3/29.The Harry Potter HBO series has been all over the place when it comes to casting choices from the decent Dumbledore pick, John Lithgow, to the baffling Snape pick, the too-handsome Paapa Essiedu. Now? Its about to cast an actor who is a slam-dunk for the role hes heading toward. That would be Nick Frost as the new Hagrid, the famed groundskeeper and key player in especially the early parts of the series. Frost is best-known for his roles in the Edgar Wright/Simon Pegg comedies Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and The Worlds End. Even though that last one was over a decade ago now, Frost has been in loads of projects since then, including doing a lot of voicework for animated endeavors.Arriving as Hagrid would be his biggest role possibly ever, given the attention that this controversial, but no doubt widely-watched series will have on Max/HBO when it does arrive. Unlike Lithgow, potentially, if the show runs a decade Frost, currently 52, will not age out of it.NEW YORK, NEW YORK - FEBRUARY 11: Nick Frost attends Build Series to discuss 'Fighting with My ... More Family' at Build Studio on February 11, 2019 in New York City. (Photo by Dominik Bindl/Getty Images)Getty ImagesThe original actor in the role of Hagrid for all the films was Robbie Coltrane, who sadly passed away in 2022, albeit no doubt he would not have returned, given that this looks to be a 100% new cast. But he did an excellent job and was a beloved part of those films. Well see if Frost can live up, as perfect as his casting may seem. The biggest question, of course, is who will play the central trio of Harry, Hermione and Ron, though like the original movies, the goal is to find unknown, young actors for those parts, so its not going to be anyone youve ever heard of. Its an immense amount of pressure, so hopefully they will be okay, whoever is cast. The other big part yet to be cast will be that of Voldemort, previously played by Ralph Fiennes, who has endorsed Cillian Murphy for the role, albeit there is nothing to indicate that is actually happening, or if hes interested in being locked into that part for the next decade of his career, recent Oscar-winner and all.I would not expect this show to release before 2027, nor do I expect it to take any less than seven seasons, maybe more, given how long the books get. This is an era where at best, it usually takes 1.5-2 years in between seasons of even not big shows, so this? I dont think its unreasonable to say well be seeing this air into the late 2030s if it doesnt end up cancelled. But I think WB is going to be pot-committed to this one no matter what.Update (3/29): Just to recap where we are in the casting process is at. There is only totally finalized casting at this point, with everyone else near a deal, even if it does work out in the end. We have:John Lithgow as Dumbledore - This one is fully official with Lithgow himself already discussing the casting. Heres what he said at the time:"It was not an easy decision because its going to define me for the last chapter of my life, Im afraid. But Im very excited.Lithgows casting raises questions not about his competency, but about his age. Hes 79 now, and this show seems destined to run for at least 10 years, so hed be nearly 90. Hes talented, but for a long-term project like this, it seems like a questionable choice.Paapa Essiedu as Snape - This is easily the most controversial casting pick of them all (though its not finalized). Some have focused on the changed race of the character, albeit theres nothing in the book that revolves around Snape being white. Rather, the question is that hes just a very traditionally handsome actor when thats really not how Snape is supposed to look, which is key to the story.Janet McTeer as McGonagall - This one is the least secure right now, but McTeer has frequently been brought up as the main name to play the Professor now. You may recognize her from her recurring role on Ozark.Follow me , and .Pick up my sci-fi novels the and

  • Samsungs hyped budget foldable phone finally shows its face
    www.digitaltrends.com
Table of ContentsTable of ContentsStaying close to homeThe biggest mysterySamsung, it seems, is ready to open its budget foldable phone innings under the Fan Edition banner later this year. So far, weve only heard murmurs of a Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE being in development, but we finally may have our first purported look at the real thing. The folks over at SammyGuru (with leakster OnLeaks) have shared what they claim to be CAD-based renders of the upcoming phone, alongside a video depicting it from all angles. From the looks, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE will likely duplicate the vanilla Galaxy Z Flip 6s design language.Recommended VideosAs per the latest leak, the affordable foldable offering will reportedly offer a 3.4-inch cover display and a 6.7-inch inner foldable panel. The only major difference is that the FE trim could be slightly narrower, but a tad thicker (7.4mm vs 6.9mm) than the Galaxy Z Flip 6.SammyGuruSamsung is said to embrace an armor aluminum build for the phone, and will serve seven Android OS upgrades. It is rumored to make its debut at the next Unpacked event, where the company is also expected the launch the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and its Flip sibling, rocking a refined design language. Please enable Javascript to view this contentSamsung is touted to equip its budget-focused foldable phone with the Exynos 2400e silicon, a slightly watered-down version of the Exynos 2400 silicon. Based on the 4nm process node, the only major performance difference between the two is a slightly slower Cortex-X4 Prime core. Samsung has already served it inside the Galaxy S24. FE, and it performed reliably in our tests. For the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and the Fold 7, the Korean electronics giant will likely embrace Qualcomms top-of-the-line Snapdragon 8 Elite silicon.SammyGuruUnfortunately, details about the phones pricing are still a mystery, but if one were to take an educated guess, it shouldnt cost more than a thousand dollars. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE could finally allow Samsung to reach more foldable phone enthusiasts with a lower asking price. At the moment, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 is currently listed at $1,100 in the US. On the other hand, Motorolas Razr 50 starts at just $700 in the US. Even the more powerful Ultra variant is $100 cheaper than Samsungs offering. Chinese smartphone brands follow an even more competitive price strategy. The Nubia Flip, for example, costs merely $500, and similar is the asking price for BlackViews clamshell-style foldable phone. It would be interesting to see how far down Samsung can go, and whether it can one-up Motorola.Editors Recommendations
