RT Yun-Ta TsaiHistorically, it was difficult to reinvent a company at the height of its market cap. When I was in Nokia, I asked why my Finnish colleagues why the company did not reinvest its resources to build the actual smartphone — event its concept video predicted the vision correctly years ago.The answer was, it would take a long time to rewrite Symbians to support a new paradigm than changing the mechanical design and plastic molding of a phone. The risk was simply too high — new software, tooling and backend infrastructure, while it was under pressure to release new models every few months to fan off the competition from Asia.Quarters after quarters, Nokia enjoyed massive market shares that it was not in a hurry to change until it was too late.Looking back, the answer seems obvious. Yet, it was difficult to commit to the right path. Reinvention often requires repeatedly going from zero to one. That was hard to stomach to most people.

Nintendo Hints at New Mario Game on Switch 2; Assassin's Creed Shadows Could Also Launch
Nintendo has suggested a new Mario game will make its way to the Nintendo Switch 2 at some point. In an interview this month, Nintendo of America president Doug Bowser asked eager fans to “stay tuned” when asked about the next Mario title. Many expected the Switch 2 to launch with a new Mario game, possibly a sequel to Super Mario Odyssey. But Nintendo revealed Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza as first-party games coming to the Switch 2.Nintendo Hints at New Mario GameBowser, in an interview with CNN earlier this month, suggested the next Mario game could arrive on Switch 2 sooner rather than later.“Stay tuned,” Bowser said. “You know, we have a long, long catalog, and a long list of (intellectual property) that I'm sure will make its way to the platform.”Nintendo has not revealed its first-party slate for the Switch 2 beyond the titles confirmed for the console in 2025. During the Switch 2-focussed Nintendo Direct stream on April 2, the company revealed some first-party titles in addition to third-party games coming to the new platform.Only two first-party games are confirmed to be launch titles that will be available on June 5 when the Switch 2 is released. These include open-world racing title Mario Kart World and Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour, an interactive guide for the new console.Beyond that, 3D action-platformer Donkey Kong Bananza arrives July 17, while Kirby Air Riders, Drag X Drive and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment are confirmed for launch in 2025. The revealed first-party slate likely means there will be no mainline Mario or The Legend of Zelda release this year.Nintendo will, however, release a host of Nintendo Switch 2 Edition upgrades for existing and announced Switch 1 games like Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Super Mario Party Jamboree, Kirby and the Forgotten Land and Pokémon Legends: Z-A — all in 2025, with the two acclaimed 3D Zelda titles from the original Switch coming on launch day.Assassin's Creed Shadows could launch on the Switch 2Photo Credit: UbisoftAssassin's Creed Shadows Could Launch on Switch 2While heavy first-party heavy hitters like Mario and Zelda are missing, third-party developers have announced a robust lineup of games coming to the Switch 2 this year and beyond. This includes FromSoftware's new Switch 2 exclusive The Duskbloods and popular games like Hogwarts Legacy, Split Fiction, Cyberpunk 2077, Elden Ring, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4, Star Wars Outlaws and many more.Recently, listed information on the PEGI ratings website suggested that Assassin's Creed Shadows could be coming to Switch 2, as well. As per a VGC report, Switch 2 appeared as a supported platform for the title as seen on the website's most searched games section. The listing since seems to have been changed and Assassin's Creed Shadows' page on the PEGI website now only shows PC, PS5 and Xbox Series S/X as supported platforms. However, the earlier listing suggests Ubisoft's newest action-adventure title will reportedly launch on the Switch 2. Do note, that while Ubisoft has confirmed that Star Wars Outlaws will launch on Switch 2 on September 4, the company has not yet announced a Switch 2 port for the newest Assassin's Creed title. The Nintendo Switch 2 was fully unveiled on April 2 and was set to be available for pre-orders in the US from April 9. The widespread reciprocal trade tariffs announced by US President Donald Trump, however, led Nintendo to push the pre-order date to April 24. The hybrid console will be available from June 5.

Ghost of Yotei Has Been Rated in Taiwan, Suggesting Release May Be Imminent
Ghost of Yotei has been rated in Taiwan today, suggesting that, judging from some precedents, the game may not be too far from release. As reported by Gematsu, the second entry in the series developed by Sucker Punch received an R rating for violence, tobacco and alcohol and inappropriate language, which was predictable looking at the first entry in the series. While the rating also highlights how a launch date has not been revealed yet, we are likely going to hear more about it very soon, as not much time usually passes from the first ratings in Asian countries to the release date announcements. For Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, another big PlayStation 5 exclusive launching in 2025, the launch date was confirmed a little over a month after the game was rated in South Korea. We haven't seen much of Ghost of Yotei since its announcement last year. Back in March, the game's official website confirmed some details regarding the new protagonist, Atsu, and some new gameplay mechanics, including new weapons like the odachi, kusarigama, and dual katanas, more varied environments that players will be able to take advantage of, and more. Ghost of Yotei is scheduled to release in 2025 on PlayStation 5. A PC version has yet to be officially announced, though there's little doubt that a port will be coming at some point. Deal of the Day

Gigabyte’s GeForce RTX 5080 “AORUS Master” Sees Its Thermal Gel Getting Leaked Out After Just One Month of Usage
NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 5080 user report "thermal gel" leakage with their Gigabyte AORUS MASTER ICE variant, and that too in just a month of usage. Gigabyte's GeForce RTX 5080 Thermal Gel Gets Leaked Out, Likely Showing Flaws In the AIB's QA Process Problems with Team Green's RTX 50 series keep emerging every other day, but this time, we shouldn't put the blame on NVIDIA; instead, it's AIB partner, Gigabyte. In a post on QuasarZone, a user reports that he has experienced what appears to be a "thermal gel" leakage with their Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5080, and it has been liquified to the point that it has started moving towards the PCIe riser, which is indeed something surprising and rather a serious malfunction. It is disappointing to see such issues with a variant as expensive as the AORUS MASTER. Image Credits: QuasarZone Now, interestingly, the thermal gel we talked about is actually a replacement for the conventional thermal pads, and according to Gigabyte, it is a "server-grade" gel which is essentially non-fluid, so with the reported incident, it is certain that the gel had a defect. This situation would've made sense if it had occurred after a prolonged use, but according to the user, he got the RTX 5080 exactly one month ago, which shows that this malfunction is undoubtedly the fault of the AIB partner. The user had mounted the GPU vertically throughout his use, so this might be something that would have contributed to the leaking. So, imagine spending $1,500+ on a GPU only to see such a defect in it. This issue should be addressed immediately. Fortunately, the Gigabyte distributor was quick enough to respond to the issue. Since it is a newly-emerged problem, they are in discussion with Gigabyte about addressing it, as there's no formal policy regarding "thermal gel leakage." While the thermal gel isn't a conductive material, it could damage components if the leakage isn't addressed immediately. If it moves to the PCIe riser, it could block the connection, leading to serious issues. Deal of the Day

سامسونج تعمل على Galaxy Tab S10 Lite بالإضافة إلى S11 و S11 Ultra
