WCCFTECH.COMThe Next Skate Game Won’t Be Playable Offline To Support Its “Multiplayer Skateboarding Sandbox”Players have asked EA for years to bring back the Skate series, and four years ago, EA finally answered those prayers with the official confirmation that the skateboarding series would indeed be coming back. Four years later, we know that was just an announcement at the time and that this new Skate game was only beginning its development when EA confirmed the series' return. But now that we're approaching its early access release sometime this year, we're learning more about it, and the latest bit of confirmed news is one that definitely won't go down well with fans. Spotted by Eurogamer, developer Full Circle confirmed that the new Skate game will not have an offline mode. You'll always need to be online and connected to the game's servers when playing. In an FAQ section towards the bottom of a new blog from Full Circle, the studio bluntly answered the question about an offline mode. "The simple answer: No. The game and city are designed to be a living, breathing massively multiplayer skateboarding sandbox that is always online and always evolving. You'll see bigger things evolve, like changes to the city over time, as well as smaller things, like live events and other in-game activities. In order to deliver on our vision of a skateboarding world, the game will always require a live connection." It's disappointing news for veteran fans of the series, many of whom likely don't want to be bothered with the live service elements of the new Skate game. They were just looking to spend hours enjoying the skateboarding mechanics and feeling that only the Skate series provided back when the original trilogy was in its heyday. While this new Skate game will launch in early access later this year, Full Circle also confirmed that more than 200,000 players have already gotten the chance to check it out in the game's closed alpha test that's been running since September 2024. If you want to join that number, you can still sign up for the playtest and hope to be selected. There's also always the hope that Full Circle will run an open beta ahead of the early access release closer to the launch. WCCFTECH.COMNintendo Switch 2 NVIDIA DLSS Delivers Impressive Upscaling From 540p to 1080p in Street Fighter 6Menu Home News Hardware Gaming Mobile Finance Deals Reviews How To Wccftech Gaming Nintendo Switch 2 NVIDIA DLSS Delivers Impressive Upscaling From 540p to 1080p in Street Fighter 6 Francesco De Meo • Apr 25, 2025 at 08:38am EDT NVIDIA DLSS support for the Nintendo Switch 2 is set to be a massive game-changer for the upcoming system, as the AI upscaler is already delivering impressive results upscaling low base resolutions to 1080p. In a recent hands-on report going over the system and both first and third-party games, the tech experts at Digital Foundry had the chance to try out the Nintendo Switch 2 port of Street Fighter 6, among other games. The game is the first taste of a game powered by CAPCOM's RE Engine on the system, and it seems like it delivers on all fronts, sporting stable 60 FPS gameplay in docked mode with some visual cutbacks in line with those featured in the PlayStation 4 and Xbox Series S versions over the others. More interesting, however, is that the game is not running at native 1080p resolution as early analysis of the available footage suggested, but at 1080p resolution upscaled from base 540p resolution with NVIDIA DLSS. Given how clean the image looks, this is extremely impressive. The Street Fighter 6 Nintendo Switch 2 port is not the only impressive third-party port that will launch with the system in a little over two months. Much like the CAPCOM game, Cyberpunk 2077 has also been confirmed to use a "version" of NVIDIA DLSS available for the hardware powered by Tensor Cores. The upscaler is reportedly used for all the game's display modes in both docked and handheld modes. The Nintendo Switch 2 launches on June 5th worldwide, with some exceptions. You can learn more about the new system by checking out Nathan's report. WCCFTECH.COMCiti: Super Micro Computer (SMCI) Has Captured 8 Percent Of The Global AI Server Revenue ShareMenu Home News Hardware Gaming Mobile Finance Deals Reviews How To Wccftech AIFinance Citi: Super Micro Computer (SMCI) Has Captured 8 Percent Of The Global AI Server Revenue Share Rohail Saleem • Apr 25, 2025 at 06:10am EDT This is not investment advice. The author has no position in any of the stocks mentioned. Wccftech.com has a disclosure and ethics policy. As one of the leading GPU-as-a-Service players and a prominent retailer of liquid-cooled AI racks, Super Micro Computer (SMCI) has predictably attracted significant attention in recent months as the broader AI story continues to unfold on the global macro stage. Now, Citi has initiated coverage of the high-momentum stock with cautious optimism. To wit, Citi analyst Asiya Merchant has now pegged a $39 stock price target on Super Micro Computer, while initiating coverage with an overall 'Neutral/High Risk' rating. Merchant notes: "With 8% of AI server revenue share, Supermicro remains one of the leading players to GPU-as-a-Service cloud providers and enterprises, and we expect Supermicro to continue to benefit from broader secular trends in AI-driven infrastructure. " Nonetheless, the Citi analyst feels that an "increasingly competitive AI Server landscape" and the attendant pressure on margins warrants caution. In a critical insight, Merchant notes that Super Micro Computer shares are currently trading at a multiple of just 9-10x its Next Twelve Months (NTM) P/E ratio, which is below the 5-year median multiple of 11-12x. However, given "the current macro-related (tariff uncertainty) and competitive intensity concerns," the Citi analyst feels this discount is "warranted." Meanwhile, as we noted recently, Apple has reportedly placed ~$1 billion worth of orders for NVIDIA's GB300 NVL72 racks with Super Micro Computer and Dell, presumably in a bid to deploy a "Gen AI LLM cluster" to improve Siri's artificial intelligence capabilities. At the time of writing, Super Micro Computer shares are up a little over 2 percent in early pre-market trading. The stock has notched gains of around 20 percent so far this year, and has emerged as one of the best performing stocks in the hardware space, as recently pointed out by Goldman Sachs itself. Bear in mind that the company expects to earn $40 billion in full-year revenue in its FY 2026 on the back of growing shipments of Blackwell-based products. WCCFTECH.COMGoogle Gives An Ultimatum To Some Of Its Remote Staff: Return To The Office Three Days A Week Or Risk Losing Their Jobs, Amid Cost Cuts And AI Investment PrioritiesMenu Home News Hardware Gaming Mobile Finance Deals Reviews How To Wccftech Mobile Google Gives An Ultimatum To Some Of Its Remote Staff: Return To The Office Three Days A Week Or Risk Losing Their Jobs, Amid Cost Cuts And AI Investment Priorities Ezza Ijaz • Apr 24, 2025 at 09:49pm EDT Google has been focusing on expanding its artificial intelligence infrastructure for a while. It has been arduously trying to stay ahead by not letting its AI staff go to the competition. Earlier in the month, we covered the company's DeepMind workforce getting a salary for up to a year for doing nothing in an attempt to keep them hooked to the tech giant and not go to its rival companies instead. While the company has been intensifying its efforts in this area, it laid off about 100 employees due to the Android and Pixel merger to operate more effectively. Now, it seems like the company is asking several teams within Google to work remotely to move to a hybrid schedule if they do not want to lose their jobs. Google is making some of its remote staff members move to a hybrid schedule by warning them about a potential layoff for non-compliance The COVID-19 pandemic reshaped the work dynamics not only during the time it was there but also many stuck to the same established formats even after the whole nightmare was over, allowing remote work options for their employees. Google also went for a similar route during the pandemic, where staff members were allowed to either work remotely or move to other flexible work arrangements. It has been five years since the life-changing situation, and Google seems to be no longer in the mood to continue in the same way, and it seems to be adamant that employees should return to physical offices. According to internal documents viewed by CNBC, several units are now instructing employees previously approved for remote working to move to a hybrid schedule or be at risk of losing their jobs. The strict directive marks a major change in the company's strategy, with the company preferring to centralize operations and encourage more in-person collaboration, which is deemed more effective. While the policy is not for all employees, but is limited to specific teams, it still highlights the harsh consequences the staff could face for resistance, ranging from bad performance reviews to even potentially being laid off. At the start of 2025, Google initiated voluntary buyouts to some of its full-time employees in the U.S. to fulfill its broader goal of cutting costs by reshaping its workforce. But what is more alarming now is that Google is giving certain remote employees a return or resign ultimatum, even if they have been given permission to opt for a remote-working format. Employees are left with no option but to return to a hybrid schedule or risk losing their jobs. The aggressive approach comes at a time when Google is trying to slash costs in some areas so that it can invest more in others. This is especially true in the case of artificial intelligence, where the company is spending more. This seems to be a broader trend in the tech industry, as other tech giants also seem to be pushing to move away from remote work settings and invest in AI rather than other segments. Apple’s latest portable Macs are now up to $150 off on Amazon, with the new series starting from just $899. WCCFTECH.COMiPhone 17 Air Could Match Pro-Level Performance With 12GB RAM, While Base Model May Stick to 8GB Due to Supply ConstraintsMenu Home News Hardware Gaming Mobile Finance Deals Reviews How To Wccftech Mobile iPhone 17 Air Could Match Pro-Level Performance With 12GB RAM, While Base Model May Stick to 8GB Due to Supply Constraints Ali Salman • Apr 24, 2025 at 09:23pm EDT Apple's upcoming iPhone 17 Air will feature a brand-new ultra-thin design that will measure in at just 5.5mm thin. However, the company is looking to equip the device with the same 12GB RAM as the iPhone 17 Pro models, making it more powerful than the base version, which is expected to retain the same 8GB of RAM as the current models. Higher RAM could boost the iPhone 17 Air’s multitasking power, leaving the base model at a disadvantage if supplies fall short It was previously reported that the iPhone 17 Air will replace the 'Plus' model in the lineup, but it appears that the company is willing to present the device as a powerful option. The iPhone 16 Plus comes with the same internals as the base iPhone 16, including the processor and the RAM, but Ming-Chi Kuo notes in his latest blog post that the iPhone 17 Air will sit with the 'Pro' models when it comes to the higher RAM count. As for the base iPhone 17, Kuo says that Apple will equip the base model with 12GB of RAM, but only if the supply chain shortages are overcome. He also claims that the company will make the final decision regarding the RAM count in the base model by next month, which means that it will be the final stage before the company prepares for mass production of the device. Currently, all iPhone 16 models are equipped with 8GB of RAM, and even though Apple is lagging behind the likes of Android flagships, the performance of the device remains at the top thanks to the A18 chips. The iPhone 17 Pro models and the iPhone 17 Air jumping to the 12GB bandwagon would give the devices the extra boost they need to better compete against the likes of the Galaxy S25 lineup, allowing the devices to bolster better multitasking capabilities than the current models. It was also recently reported that iOS 19 will add support for a Stage Manager-like interface on the iPhone with external display support. This could be the reason why the company is planning to increase the RAM count, which would allow the device to feature dedicated multitasking utilities and offer a zero-lag experience. Kuo also expects all models of the iPhone 17 lineup to feature 8GB of RAM if the shortages are met ahead of time. The company's higher RAM count will benefit Micron and SK Hynix, being the company's exclusive suppliers. Kuo also mentions that the higher RAM count would increase the cost of production, which could also cause a price hike, but it remains to be seen which direction the company heads towards. We will share more details on the iPhone 17 Air RAM as soon as further information is available. WCCFTECH.COMIntel Q1 2025 Earnings: Lip Bu-Tan Eschews Layoffs For Now, Guidance Is Wholly Disappointing [Update: Layoffs Imminent]Menu Home News Hardware Gaming Mobile Finance Deals Reviews How To Wccftech FinanceSemiconductor Intel Q1 2025 Earnings: Lip Bu-Tan Eschews Layoffs For Now, Guidance Is Wholly Disappointing [Update: Layoffs Imminent] Rohail Saleem • Apr 24, 2025 at 04:25pm EDT This is not investment advice. The author has no position in any of the stocks mentioned. Wccftech.com has a disclosure and ethics policy. Intel likely benefited from the pull-forward of demand during the first quarter of 2025, as retailers and consumers alike tried to front-run the Trump administration's then-widely expected import tariffs. It is for this reason that Wall Street analysts have been somewhat upbeat on Intel's immediate prospects, even though the overarching narrative around the erstwhile semiconductor giant's shrinking market share remains as robust as ever. Coming to the topic at hand, Intel has now announced its earnings for the first quarter of 2025, posting broadly encouraging results relative to Wall Street's consensus expectations, but tempered by woefully inadequate guidance. Intel (NASDAQ: INTC) Earnings Release For The First Quarter of 2025 For the three months that ended on the 31st of March, Intel has reported $12.667 billion in non-GAAP revenue, beating consensus expectations of $12.32 billion. Rasgon going so far as to term this thesis "eminently possible" in a research note published today. However, Rasgon cautioned against a corresponding "channel flush" in the second half of the year as retailers try to digest their elevated inventories. The Bernstein analyst also highlighted the poor reception to Intel's Gaudi platform and the cancellation of Falcon Shores to note that the company "still has no real response to the AI/GPU threat." Coming back, Intel has reported a non-GAAP gross margin of 39.2 percent for the quarter against its own guidance of 36 percent. Finally, Intel earned $0.13 in EPS (non-GAAP), beating consensus expectations of $0.01. Here is the company's guidance for the second quarter of 2025: Intel Guidance Intel is projecting just $11.8 billion in revenue in the second quarter of 2025 (at the midpoint of its guided range). Analysts expected the company to guide to $12.8 billion in revenue. Similarly, the company's projection for its non-GAAP EPS in the ongoing quarter is equally disappointing, with analysts' consensus expectations pegged at $0.06. We reported earlier this week that Intel was considering another round of mass layoffs, to the tune of 20 percent of its workforce, which corresponds to over 21,000 employees. That cut has not materialized. Bear in mind that Intel culled 15,000 jobs in 2023, and a further 15,000 in 2024. Despite pronounced expectations, Intel has eschewed further layoffs for now, choosing to detail its operational efficiency plans in the following words: Intel is reducing its non-GAAP operating expense target to approximately $17 billion in 2025, down from its previously stated goal of $17.5 billion, and is now targeting $16 billion in 2026. Operating expenses include research and development (R&D), and marketing, general and administrative (MG&A). Intel expects to have restructuring charges associated with these actions, some of which may be included in its non-GAAP results. Since the company has not yet estimated these charges, they are not included in its guidance. Additionally, further operational efficiencies and better utilization of construction-in-progress assets allow Intel to reduce its gross capital expenditures target to $18 billion for 2025, down from the company's previous target of $20 billion, while still expecting net capital expenditures of approximately $8 billion to $11 billion. Intel will continue to focus investment in its core business as it drives operational efficiency. Investors have reacted negatively to the company's latest earnings release, with the stock currently down around 7 percent in after-hours trading. The company's guidance is nothing short of disastrous. Also, the lack of a cogent strategy on streamlining Intel's bloated middle management structure is also taking a toll at the moment. Update: Lip Bu-Tan Says Layoffs Begin In Q2 Intel's CEO has issued the following message to the company's employees: "As we refocus on engineering, we will also remove organizational complexity. Many teams are eight or more layers deep, which creates unnecessary bureaucracy that slows us down." "I’ve been surprised to learn that, in recent years, the most important KPI for many managers at Intel has been the size of their teams. Going forward, this will not be the case." "There is no way around the fact that these critical changes will reduce the size of our workforce. As I said when I joined, we need to make some very hard decisions to put our company on a solid footing for the future. This will begin in Q2 and we will move as quickly as possible over the next several months." "I am instructing our leaders to eliminate unnecessary meetings and significantly reduce the number of meeting attendees. Too much valuable time is being wasted." "We will be updating our policy to require four days per week on site by Sept. 1." WCCFTECH.COMHyper Light Breaker’s First Major Update, Buried Below Arrives Next WeekMenu Home News Hardware Gaming Mobile Finance Deals Reviews How To Wccftech Gaming Hyper Light Breaker’s First Major Update, Buried Below Arrives Next Week David Carcasole • Apr 24, 2025 at 12:00pm EDT Developer Heart Machine's Hyper Light Breaker launched at the top of the year in Early Access, and the studio has officially announced that its first major update, Buried Below, will arrive on April 29, 2025. Regarding what's new in the update, a new Breaker called Rondo will be added to the game, who comes with a new SyCom with two perks, a new crown called Maw, two new melee weapons, and new environments to run through, such as caves. The rest of the major changes are quality-of-life updates and significant changes to the run structure. In a press release, Heart Machine calls it "the most significant feature overhaul yet with a complete rework of the game's run structure." Players will now have one life per run, losing items in their inventory and resetting the Overgrowth when they die. Heart Machine says this change will allow the team to "better adjust difficulty and make the game easier to get into but harder to master." Along with this change comes a few new gameplay loops, including introducing more ways for players to leave the Overgrowth, SyComs following more of a class-like system with character customization being redesigned, and streamlining vendors and player inventory. The final significant aspect of the update is an improved onboarding path. Once the update is live, first-time players will be thrown into a tutorial that will take them through the game's core mechanics and explain a few key aspects they'll need to know with Hyper Light Breaker. Heart Machine hopes that this new tutorial will be useful to first-time players and even returning players who may just want a refresher on the basics. As part of the new update being revealed, Heart Machine is providing Wccftech 20 game keys to giveaway beginning Wednesday, May 7, 2025, a week after the update will have gone live. WCCFTECH.COMIO Interactive Co-Founder Opens New Studio Wombo Games, New Rogue-Lite Raiders Of Blackveil To Be Debut ProjectThe co-founder of IO Interactive and former chief creative officer at Square Enix, Janos Flösser, has started a new studio based in Copenhagen called Wombo Games. Alongside the new studio announcement, Flösser has also announced the studio's debut project, a new roguge-lite called Raiders of Blackveil. Raiders of Blackveil is currently set to arrive on Steam in Early Access sometime this summer, and is described as an "action-packed rogue-lite" that looks to "blend MOBA-inspired champions, RPG-style loot and PVE extraction gameplay to create a deeply strategic game filled with challenging, fun encounters that can be experienced alone or with friends," according to a press release. The setting is a dystopian fantasy world where you'll fight against an evil corporation run by humans named Blackveil. The human part is important because you're part of an animal rebellion against Blackveil, and either on your own or alongside two other animal friends in groups of three, you'll raid and plunder Blackveil in the fight to end the corporation's evil dominance. Flösser describes Wombo Games as a mixture of industry veterans who have worked on games like Hitman, Tomb Raider, and Deus Ex, paired with young, talented developers looking to make their mark on the video game industry. "Wombo Games has been developing Raiders of Blackveil for nearly two years so it's surreal to finally be able to announce it, and Wombo Games, to the world," said Flösser. "Raiders of Blackveil is our first title so it's very special to us. It is a blueprint of our studio because every person at Wombo has contributed directly to its development. At Wombo, we make decisions by consensus, and plan to continue that with feedback from our players once we launch in early access later this year..." With summer just around the corner, hopefully we'll hear more about Raiders of Blackveil soon.0 Comments 0 Shares 77 Views

The game was allegedly titled Blade Runner: Time To Live. It would have been a "character-driven, cinematic, action-adventure game" set in 2065. The plan was to make a "compelling story that blends the philosophical themes of Blade Runner with kinetic action-adventure gameplay," with an expected length between 10 and 12 hours. Blade Runner: Time To Live started pre-production in September 2024 and was being worked on by the team that made The Quarry. Pre-production was supposed to be completed in March 2025, while prototyping was scheduled to end around six months later. The game's release was tentatively planned for September 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Interestingly, the report also mentions a potential launch on next-generation PlayStation and Xbox platforms. However, it's hard to imagine that Supermassive would already know so much about Sony's and Microsoft's plans that they would be aware of whether the new consoles will be available then. Blade Runner: Time To Live was projected to have a budget of approximately $45 million, with $9 million set aside for external performance capture and acting talent. Original music production, image rights, usage fees for actors, QA and game testing, localization, and any future DLCs would have to be budgeted separately. The game would feature a replicant known as So-Lange as the playable character. It would start in New Zurich, with So-Lange tasked to 'retire' a dangerous leader of an underground replicant network called Rev. However, So-Lange would soon be betrayed and left for dead in a hostile environment. In terms of game mechanics, the report says it would have been possible to upgrade skills and abilities. The reasons behind the early cancellation weren't detailed, although it is said that Blade Runner IP owner Alcon was to blame. Of course, this is just one side of a story that may never fully come to light. It's a shame, though, as Supermassive definitely has the chops to make an interesting adventure game set in this universe. It's been a long time since there was any game set in this seemingly ripe setting. Thankfully, there's still Blade Runner 2033: Labyrinth, in development at Annapurna Interactive since 2022. WCCFTECH.COMSamsung To Reportedly Hold An Event On May 13 To Unveil The Galaxy S25 Edge, With The Ultra-Slim Flagship Apparently Launching In Three Markets Later That MonthMenu Home News Hardware Gaming Mobile Finance Deals Reviews How To Wccftech MobileRumor Samsung To Reportedly Hold An Event On May 13 To Unveil The Galaxy S25 Edge, With The Ultra-Slim Flagship Apparently Launching In Three Markets Later That Month Omar Sohail • Apr 24, 2025 at 01:39am EDT The fourth member of the Galaxy S25 family, the Galaxy S25 Edge, is finally said to have a launch date, as a report claims that Samsung will make the announcement official next month. The only drawback to the arrival of the upcoming ultra-thin premium smartphone is that not all regions will be able to appreciate the effort it took to ‘slim’ down the flagship, because the company only has three target markets for this device. Then again, Samsung’s plans could change depending on how well-received the Galaxy S25 Edge is in those countries. Only South Korea, the U.S,. and China will be treated to the Galaxy S25 Edge, with its price set between the Galaxy S25 Plus and Galaxy S25 Ultra A report from Fnnews that was spotted by @Jukanlosreve mentioned May 13 as the Galaxy S25 Edge’s launch date. An unnamed industry source stated that Samsung will hold a ‘Galaxy Unpacked’ event at the aforementioned date, where various specification details, colors and prices of the upcoming handset expected to be a part of the announcement. What is interesting is that Samsung will host an entire event just for a single product launch, but there is also the possibility that the Korean giant will livestream it, since it does not make much sense to introduce just a single device. Shortly after the May 13 announcement, pre-orders of the Galaxy S25 Edge will commence on May 14 and conclude on May 20, with the ultra-slim flagship expected to be available in South Korea and China first. Shortly after, the smartphone is scheduled to arrive in the U.S., but there is no word on whether the Galaxy S25 Edge will be sold officially in other markets. According to a previous estimate, Samsung’s initial production target was a mere 40,000 units, but this figure could just be to gauge how the three markets respond to the launch. Assuming the Galaxy S25 Edge picks up in popularity, Samsung could ask its supply chain to pick up the production pace. Fortunately, those who are contemplating on making this sleek flagship their daily driver, a deleted hands-on video in the form of YouTube Shorts was published, showing the Galaxy S25 Edge’s thickness and partial specifications, so you can check out those details if you want to be slightly informed about this particular model. WCCFTECH.COMIntel’s Next-Gen Automotive SoCs Detailed: Frisco Lake With Panther Lake IP & Xe3 iGPU, Grizzly Lake With Up To 32 Nova Lake E-Cores & 7 TFLOPs iGPUIntel has detailed its next-gen SoCs, codenamed Frisco Lake & Grizzly Lake, which incorporate Panther Lake & Nova Lake IPs at the Shanghai Auto Show. Intel Fast Forwards Its Automotive SoC Roadmap With 2nd Gen Frisco Lake SDV SoC, Comes With Panther Lake uArch & 3rd Gen Xe Graphics, 10x AI Performance Well, Intel just announced its latest Automotive plans, and they seem to be going all in with new SoC designs that incorporate their latest and greatest architectures. Image Source: 3elife.net Starting first with the 2nd Gen SDV SoC, codenamed Frisco Lake, this family is going to feature a CPU architecture similar to the Panther Lake chips, which will be launching later this year and are aimed for volume production in the first half of 2026. The chips will employ the Panther Lake IP & core architecture and there's currently no word on the exact core counts, but the chips are said to feature TDPs ranging between 20 & 65 watts and offer 10x the AI performance and 61% efficiency improvement versus the prior generation which is based on the Raptor Lake architecture with a total of 12 cores configured between 12-45W. Another major upgrade will be the addition of the 3rd Gen Xe architecture, or Xe3, which is known as Celestial. This IP will replace the current Battlemage architecture and will be a big upgrade over the 1st Gen Xe (96 EU) design incorporated by the current generation SoCs. Other features include 12 Camera channels and 280 Audio channels. Furthermore, Harukaze5719 was able to confirm through Kernel patches that Frisco Lake is actually based on Panther Lake IP. Intel's Grizzly Lake "3rd Gen SDV" Platform With Monument Peak SoCs Based on Nova Lake IP Geared For 2027 Launch? But there's more: According to an early roadmap obtained by 3elife, it looks like Intel has much more ambitious plans for the future. These come in the form of Grizzly Lake, which will be the 3rd Gen SDV platform with processors codenamed Monument Peak. These SoCs are likely to feature the same IP as the Nova Lake CPUs and employ up to 32 E-Cores. Do note that the Nova Lake CPU platform is expected to feature as many as 52 cores, but those also include P-cores and LP-cores. Other details mention an Xe iGPU with up to 7 TFLOPs of compute performance, 6 display pipes, up to 12 cameras, AEC-Q100 Grade 2, and ASIL B support. Image Source: 3elife.net Now, if everything goes according to plan, we can expect the Grizzly Lake platform to launch some time in 202,7 as production was initially planned for 1H 2027. But that's the old plan, and a lot has changed over to Intel, but knowing that they are speeding up the automotive game to attract as many EV wins, it looks like we can still very well see a similar launch timeframe as originally planned.0 Comments 0 Shares 61 Views

WCCFTECH.COMTSMC Plans To Commence 1.4nm Wafer Production In 2028, With The Advanced Lithography Delivering As Much As Up To 30 Percent Performance And Efficiency ImprovementsMenu Home News Hardware Gaming Mobile Finance Deals Reviews How To Wccftech MobileSemiconductor TSMC Plans To Commence 1.4nm Wafer Production In 2028, With The Advanced Lithography Delivering As Much As Up To 30 Percent Performance And Efficiency Improvements Omar Sohail • Apr 24, 2025 at 12:18am EDT The 2nm race is currently being led by TSMC because at the start of the month, the foundry giant reportedly started accepting orders for its cutting-edge wafers, with Apple likely being the first recipient of this technology. It will take a few years for the Taiwanese semiconductor behemoth to transition to the more advanced node, but we should start seeing 1.4nm chips in the distant future, as the company has said that it will kick off production for the latter in 2028. Naturally, there will be significant benefits to transitioning to this manufacturing process, so let us jump into the details immediately. New process to make 1.4nm chips is called A14 or 14-Angstrom node, and is specifically designed for sub-2nm technology The announcement was made during TSMC’s North America Technology Symposium in Santa Clara, California, with the firm’s CEO C.C. Wei stating that ‘our customers’ are constantly looking into the future. In its quest to develop ‘start of the art’ wafers for a multitude of customers, TSMC’s only rival in this space is Samsung. However, we recently reported that the Korean giant had cancelled its own version of 1.4nm for undisclosed reasons. On the plus side, the company was later reported to have established a team laser-focused on 1nm chip development, with a mass production target set for 2029. Assuming Samsung sticks to its intended timeline, it can provide some competition to TSMC, leading to negotiable prices for this technology, but for the time being, the focus is likely on increasing those 2nm yields. As for the benefits of customers placing 1.4nm wafers orders, Nikkei Asia reports that the A14 node can deliver 15 percent improved performance and a 30 percent reduction in power consumption. There is currently no information regarding which client hinted at being the first to place orders for these 1.4nm chips, but we have a hunch that Apple’s close business relationship with TSMC and its ability to procure massive wafer shipments will make the deal between the two a major priority. Aside from introducing its A14 technology in 2028, TSMC also mentioned that it will introduce next-generation packaging technology that combines a bevy of chips with different functions into a single package, with production expected to begin in 2027. WCCFTECH.COMThe Division 2: Battle for Brooklyn DLC Launches on May 27Menu Home News Hardware Gaming Mobile Finance Deals Reviews How To Wccftech Gaming The Division 2: Battle for Brooklyn DLC Launches on May 27 Alessio Palumbo • Apr 23, 2025 at 04:00pm EDT Today, Ubisoft Massive has unveiled a lot more details for Tom Clancy's The Division 2: Battle for Brooklyn DLC, starting with its release date. The expansion will be released on May 27 on PC and consoles and will be priced at $14.99. It also comes with purchases of The Division 2 Gold Edition or The Division 2 Ultimate Edition. Both editions include the standard game, the Warlords of New York expansion, 50 stash slots, and a level 40 boost, allowing players to jump into the Battle for Brooklyn campaign right from the start. The Ultimate Edition also includes 1000 bonus Premium Credits and the Year 1 Pass, unlocking endgame specializations, exclusive missions, and more. The Division 2: Battle for Brooklyn brings players back to the location of the first game. According to the developers, though, this version of Brooklyn offers new opportunities for exploration and interaction. The DLC's main missions have been crafted to provide a bespoke narrative experience, allowing players to immerse themselves deeper in the story rather than feel overwhelmed by side missions. Ubisoft Massive estimates that the first playthrough could take anywhere between six and ten hours to complete. The Cleaners now wield a new “Purple Flame” weapon. Players will have to beware, as it inflicts a corrosive effect that reduces the player character's max armor. Smart Cover returns in Battle for Brooklyn as a redesigned skill for PvE and PvP. The use of Smart Cover will increase the offensive and defensive cover buffs and increase boss resistance for all allies. Players can choose between two variants, the Precision Smart Cover and the Fortified Smart Cover. Both variants have some stats that are tuned differently for PvP. The developers also looked beyond The Division 2: Battle for Brooklyn, specifically to what players can expect in Year 7. For the next year of live support, Ubisoft Massive will focus on three aspects: improving the onboarding process, adding more depth to the endgame, and making sure the seasons are a 'cornerstone' of the game's experience with more regular updates. Interestingly, they also said that the open world will be more dynamic thanks to a new wrapper that reacts to the player's actions while unlocking exotic blueprints. WCCFTECH.COMSouth of Midnight – Where To Find All Notes – Chapter 12South of Midnight has more than 100 notes to find across all 14 chapters. Each note adds a good deal of context to the story and the past trauma's Hazel is uncovering, so it's worth your time to seek them all out. This guide will tell you where to find all the notes in Chapter 12. South of Midnight - Where To Find All Notes - Chapter 12 There are more notes in Chapter 12 than in any other individual level in South of Midnight, with 19 total notes to find. At least it makes Chapter 13 a much easier ordeal, with only two notes left to check off after grabbing all of the notes in Chapter 12. There are no notes in the final chapter of the game. Should I Leave? - Right at the beginning of the chapter, follow the main path directly in front of you and you'll come to a sign post pointing in multiple directions, with a tree stump to its right. This first note is resting on the stump. Should I Stay? - After following the sign towards the Town on the Tapestry twice, a carriage with a ghostly warthog will appear. This note will be on the same stump where you found the first note. The Record Keeps Skipping - When you walk inside the carriage, you'll see it's bigger on the inside than it looks on the outside. This note can be found next to the gramophone at the end of the hall. Milk and Sugar, Love? - This note is a few steps ahead of the previous note, below a giant portrait of a family on a silver tray with a tea set. Ring, Ring - As you follow the guiding strands deeper into Roux's carriage, you'll find this note attached to the handlebars of a tricycle, just a few steps from the previous note. Roux's Limerance - Continue following the guiding strands. You'll find this note on the second floor of Roux's carriage, on a table right at the top of the stairs next to a stuffed turtle. The Hungry Maw - From the previous note, you'll find this one stuck to a red refrigerator on the right side of the room. Still Stars Don't Remember - You'll find this note after the first combat encounter of the level, on the right side of the arena next to a box you can move to reach a Floof knot in the area. Joe Goodfellow, 74 - Before jumping into the wind tunnel, you can see from finding the previous note, you'll find this note stuck to a door, to the right of the window where you can look in and see the echo of an old man down on one knee. The Many Little Things - After using the wind tunnel and wall-running to reach the next platform, turn to your left to find this note lying on a lawn chair. Hollowed Love - Just ahead of where you found the previous note, you'll find this one on a table on the left side of the balcony. Spit It Out - Keeping following the guiding strands and use the next wind tunnel on the path. When you land, turn right and you should be able to see a health filament in the distance. Turn right again to go around the building on the right side of the street, and you'll find this note on a table around the corner. Ella Mae, 7 - Follow the guiding strands until you reach a neon sign for Gouldeau’s Jazz, and instead of continuing straight ahead, jump to the platform lower down to your right. Head straight ahead up the stairs, and you'll find this note stuck to the second door on your right, next to another window where you can look in and see an echo of a little girl praying in her bed. I miss, I miss, I miss - While standing in front of the door with the previous note, turn around and look down to see the echo of a platform you can conjure. Jump to that platform, then use the grapple to get back to solid ground and you'll find this note on a table behind a Floof knot. Would Be Beautiful - After the second combat encounter of the level, follow the path until Hazel calls out to another ghostly spirit, only to be ignored. Stopping where she calls out, turn around and you'll see a sign for the 'Mesmerizing Roux' that you can pull on. Pull it and jump to the platform it reveals, then head left to find this note and a Floof knot. Tempest Hamlin, 42 - Continue to follow the path from the little detour you took to find the previous note, and you'll find this note stuck to a door on the left side of the path, next to another sign advertising Roux's show and a window you can look into with the echo of a woman repeatedly taking a bow. Passage - On the second level of the clock tower, after using the first giant gear to slowly bring you up to the next platform, you'll find this note across the gap and on a table next to a box of gears you can pick up and throw. I'm Trying - As you continue to climb the clock tower, at one point you'll use your grapple to land in front of an elevator shaft. Keep following the main path from here by jumping through the hole of the giant gear, and you'll come across this note on a stool on your path with a gear resting against the wall and a light above it. You Gotta Release It - After the combat encounter at the top of the clock tower, head outside and before jumping into the wind tunnel, turn left and you'll find this note resting on a box, with a Floof knot steps away from it at the back of the balcony. That's where all 19 notes are found in South of Midnight's Chapter 12. If you've followed along with these guides so far, you'll have found 101 out of 103 notes. Only two more to go, and they're both in Chapter 13. Products mentioned0 Comments 0 Shares 92 Views

WCCFTECH.COMPlayStation’s Classic Console Themes From 30th Anniversary Celebrations Are Back In New PS5 System UpdateMenu Home News Hardware Gaming Mobile Finance Deals Reviews How To Wccftech Gaming PlayStation’s Classic Console Themes From 30th Anniversary Celebrations Are Back In New PS5 System Update David Carcasole • Apr 23, 2025 at 02:22pm EDT As part of PlayStation's celebration of the platform's 30th anniversary last year, PS5 owners enjoyed console themes based on each PlayStation console generation. These themes were only available for a limited time until today, when Sony announced that they are making a return in a system update that will be rolling out across the globe tomorrow, April 24, 2025. In a PlayStation Blog post about tomorrow's update, Sony Interactive Entertainment's vice president of product management, Shuzo Kikuchi, announced a new feature coming to the system called Audio Focus. This new audio setting is designed to make the softer sounds in games louder for players using headphones, with the provided example being to make things like footsteps come through more audibly in your headphones. Regarding the return of the classic console themes, Kikuchi admitted that their return was solely due to fans asking for them to return. "During our 30th anniversary celebrations, we surprised our fans with a limited time selection of nostalgic customization features for the PS5 System UI to honor the four PlayStation consoles that paved the way for PS5: PlayStation, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4," Kikuchi wrote. "Due to the overwhelmingly positive response from our community, we're happy to bring back the look and feel of the four console designs for players to customize the home screen on PS5!" When you update your PS5 console, you'll be able to find these returning themes under a new menu in the system's settings called 'Appearance.' Having different themes for your Home screen has been a key customization feature PlayStation players have enjoyed since the dawn of the PS3. Hopefully, bringing these themes back is just the first step towards more, like the many game-specific themes that used to be available. A few first-party and second-party titles already have themes set for the Welcome menu, but nothing like the themes from the 30th anniversary, which changed the console's entire UI. Players would surely love to see more of the latter down the line. WCCFTECH.COMSamsung Galaxy S26 Ultra To Launch Early Next Year With One UI 8.5 Based On Android 16, Skipping One UI 8.1 For Major UpgradesMenu Home News Hardware Gaming Mobile Finance Deals Reviews How To Wccftech MobileSoftware Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra To Launch Early Next Year With One UI 8.5 Based On Android 16, Skipping One UI 8.1 For Major Upgrades Ali Salman • Apr 23, 2025 at 02:57pm EDT Samsung's Galaxy S26 Ultra is months away and expected early next year, but we are hearing acute details on the software it will run or miss out on. We now have early information related to One UI 8 and what versions of it will be supported on the Galaxy S26. It is being reported that One UI 8.1 will not be available on the S26 Ultra and other models, and there is a perfectly good reason for it. Samsung will skip the One UI 8.1 update for the Galaxy S26 and jump straight to One UI 8.5 based on Android 16 Samsung took its sweet time rolling out the One UI 7 update, and while it was curating bugs, the timeline was disturbed. This raises the question of whether the company will be able to deliver the One UI 8 updates on time for the Galaxy S26 lineup. As it turns out, the South Korean tech giant has potentially decided to skip some of the minor updates and go straight to the major ones, allowing the company to keep up with its long-standing software release timeframe. A new report sheds light on Samsung's decision to skip the One UI 8.1 update in favor of One UI 8.5 for the entire Galaxy S26 lineup, including the Ultra model. The evidence of this happening has been found in the company's system components, which show a string of code mentioning the above-mentioned updates. You can see that the string mentions One UI 8.0 and One UI 8.5, but there is no One UI 8.1, which is an indication that the company will skip the update. The .5 update will be a major one with significant feature upgrades and major visual changes, according to the source, which will breathe fresh life into the company's flagship Galaxy S26 Ultra and its slightly less capable siblings. If you are unfamiliar with the update, One UI 8 is expected to ship with the launch of the company's Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 handsets later this year. Moreover, Samsung's update will be built on top of Google's Android 16 update, which will be announced next month at its I/O event. While the public release will happen sometime in June, Samsung is expected to ready One UI 8 beforehand and release it with its highly anticipated foldable devices. One UI 8 will be made available to the Galaxy S26 lineup once they are released, possibly running One UI 8.5 instead of One UI 8.1. We expect major AI utilities and front-facing additions in Samsung's One UI 8 update as the company has to give the iPhone 17 Pro models a tough time. Google and Samsung could also offer exclusive features for the Galaxy-branded smartphones, so be sure to stick around for in-depth analysis of the updates. WCCFTECH.COMNVIDIA’s Tegra239 SoC Is “Confirmed” To Be Present In Nintendo’s Switch 2; Chip Shot Surface For The First TimeMenu Home News Hardware Gaming Mobile Finance Deals Reviews How To Wccftech HardwareLeak NVIDIA’s Tegra239 SoC Is “Confirmed” To Be Present In Nintendo’s Switch 2; Chip Shot Surface For The First Time Muhammad Zuhair • Apr 23, 2025 at 11:38am EDT It looks like Nintendo's Switch 2 did contain NVIDIA's magic, similar to its previous-gen counterpart, as the chip gets pictured online for the first time. NVIDIA's Tegra239 Chip Indeed Powers Up Nintendo Switch 2; Features An ARM-Based Architecture With Decent Performance With the release of the Nintendo Switch 2, we learned about the device's capabilities, such as the 4K 60 FPS output with the docking station, but we didn't get much information about which chip powers the device. We do know that Nintendo is in an agreement with NVIDIA to utilize its custom-made Tegra SoCs, which leads us to speculate that the device would feature the next-gen Tegra239 chip. And now, this has been confirmed, as @Kurnalsalts has shared a chip shot which appears to be of NVIDIA's Tegra239 chip, labelled as "T239". The post doesn't provide any other information, so we would likely have to rely on previous information when it comes to the specifications of the SoC. Based on what we know, the chip is said to feature eight Arm Cortex-A78C cores, a hybrid GPU featuring Ada Lovelace and Ampere elements, and 1536 CUDA cores. The CPU speed is estimated to be at 1.1 GHz to 1.5 GHz, with the varying figures accounting for speeds in docking mode. Along with this, we are looking at a 128-bit memory interface, featuring the LPDDR5 technology. Interestingly, the details around Tegra239 are pretty slim, so we cannot go much into the specifics, but we do know that the SoC supports DLSS upscaling technology, which contributes significantly to the performance of the console. For a quick rundown on specifications, you can take a look at our post here, where we have discussed the device in detail. With the Tegra239 chip, NVIDIA has shown that its custom ASIC ambitions are still high, and that in partnership with ARM, Team Green still has exclusivity maintained with Nintendo Switch. The bigger question here lies in when NVIDIA will unveil its chip for the AI PC market, which has been speculated to happen since last year. It was claimed that Team Green would partner up with MediaTek to release an ARM-focused SoC, likely called the N1X and N1 series, but there's no update on them for now. WCCFTECH.COMAssassin’s Creed Shadows Was The Best-Selling Game In The US For March 2025, While Fortnite Was The Most-Played Game On ConsolesMenu Home News Hardware Gaming Mobile Finance Deals Reviews How To Wccftech Gaming Assassin’s Creed Shadows Was The Best-Selling Game In The US For March 2025, While Fortnite Was The Most-Played Game On Consoles David Carcasole • Apr 23, 2025 at 12:19pm EDT Circana executive director and video game industry analyst Mat Piscatella has published the latest monthly sales charts for US video game sales for March 2025, with Assassin's Creed Shadows at the top of the list. Shadows was the best-selling game in the US for March 2025, which isn't surprising given that Piscatella had already reported that Shadows dominated the weekly sales charts during its first three weeks on the market. And that it had already risen to being the second-best-selling game in 2025 so far, just behind Monster Hunter Wilds. Following behind Shadows was MLB The Show 25, which was the second-best-selling game for March 2025, and has risen to the fourth-best-selling game for 2025 so far. Hazelight's latest release, Split-Fiction, made it to the number five spot for best-selling games in March 2025 and was just able to crack the top 10 best-selling games of the year in the number 10 spot. In terms of player engagement and what was the most-played game for the month, that list is less changed, with Fortnite at the top of the list for monthly active users in March 2025 on consoles. The rest of the list was essentially the same, with the rest of the usual suspects of Marvel Rivals, Minecraft, Roblox, Call of Duty, and Grand Theft Auto V all mostly in their same places as last month or changed by only a day or two. Regarding hardware sales, PlayStation 5 still came out on top, even with hardware sales declining for the month overall by 25%, and PS5 sales in particular dropping 26%, compared to March 2024. The new Midnight Black DualSense, however, led the accessories sales charts. WCCFTECH.COMReady Or Not Surpasses 9 Million Copies Sold Ahead Of Its Console Launch This SummerMenu Home News Hardware Gaming Mobile Finance Deals Reviews How To Wccftech Gaming Ready Or Not Surpasses 9 Million Copies Sold Ahead Of Its Console Launch This Summer David Carcasole • Apr 23, 2025 at 09:40am EDT Just under a week after VOID Interactive announced that Ready or Not would be coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles, the tactical FPS hit another milestone by surpassing 9 million copies sold on PC. "Our flagship tactical shooter Ready or Not is hitting a huge new milestone: We're officially coming to PlayStation and Xbox this summer," VOID Interactive's chief executive officer, Julio Rodriguez, said in a press release. "As we approach 10 million units sold on Steam, we're beyond excited to bring the experience to console players worldwide." There's still no specific release date for Ready or Not on consoles, but we know it will be sometime during summer 2025. Ready or Not is a tactical FPS that puts you in the boots of a SWAT team where, unlike plenty of other shooters, you're trying to not pull the trigger as much as possible, instead of going in guns blazing for every situation. The realistic scenarios Ready or Not emphasize to players that they need to strategize as much as possible. It's not your average war-shooter or Call of Duty, where the aim is to kill everyone in sight. A successful mission in Ready or Not means you've apprehended all hostile combatants and ensured everyone in harm's way gets out safely and alive. Ready or Not originally launched in early access in 2017 before reaching its full 1.0 release in 2023. This release came after a few delays, with the full release being first scheduled for 2020. Now that it's due to arrive on consoles two years after its full PC release, VOID Interactive's long journey with Ready or Not will enter its next chapter. The console version of Ready or Not will arrive with 20 missions that can be tackled solo or in co-op with up to five players. Two brand-new missions will also be available in the console version, which PC players will receive the same day as the console launch in a free update. It'll also include two DLC expansions, which add another six missions to the pile. Those who pre-order the console version will have access to the M32A1 Grenade launcher, MK-V Pistol, and 590M Shotgun. Once again, PC players who already own the game will get these weapons in a free update. WCCFTECH.COMThe Lords of the Fallen 2.0 Is a Massive Improvement Over the Launch VersionIf you have been following us for some time, you are well aware of how much I like FromSoftware's Souls series. Despite having quite a few problems getting into the original Demon's Souls before it officially made its way to the West back in the PS3 days, once the game clicked, I came to appreciate the formula so much that I even enjoyed Dark Souls 2 with all of its well-known issues. Having something of a fondness for clunky experiences that still manage to get some of their features right, I expected to enjoy Lords of the Fallen by Hexworks far more than I actually did. While the game wasn't bad by any means, there were too many issues in the launch version to make it anything more than a decent experience, though far too frustrating for my taste. I felt the developer completely misunderstood the idea of challenge that FromSoftware implements in its titles, going for unbalanced enemy configurations that, coupled with the frankly bad movesets of most weapons, made going through any area past the tutorial a pointless exercise in patience. For this reason, after clearing Lords of the Fallen, I never returned to it, as I felt that the bad definitely outweighed the good the game had. Following the launch of the game, however, Hexworks showed some exemplary dedication to their game and has often updated Lords of the Fallen with new features and balance changes, culminating with the release of the 2.0 update last week, which massively improves the game in pretty much every way. For starters, the game is much more forgiving and better eases the player into the experience after completing the tutorial, which I felt, in the launch version, wasn't really representative of what awaited players in the real game. Some may find the game too easy now, but the presence of some modifiers allows players to ramp up the challenge level, providing an unprecedented level of flexibility for a Soulslike. I haven't played through the entire game yet, but the fact that I was not swarmed by three enemies or more while getting sniped by long-range fighters as soon as the proper journey begins has made me more willing to play through it again to experience its solid world design once again. The addition of Lamp Guidance, a new mechanic that guides players from one Vestige save point to another, is a very welcome touch that makes experiencing the game's world even more enjoyable and stress-free. The 2.0 update also brought significant improvements to movement and combat, which ultimately make Lords of the Fallen a much better game. For starters, the Crusader is much more responsive, which, by itself, already makes combat more enjoyable against single enemies and even groups. Movesets have also been massively improved, with similar weapons also getting some differentiation between them that gives them a more distinct identity and provides more reasons for players to use them besides stats. The movesets overhaul also makes any combat maneuver considerably less floaty, so the massive positioning issues I experienced at launch are no longer present, though combat still feels a little unsatisfying, as movesets still lack weight, animations are stiff, and sound effects continue to sound a little too thin for my tastes. The new Lords of the Fallen update also goes a long way in improving the co-op experience with some very welcome tweaks. Shared co-op progression is a game changer, allowing players to seamlessly enjoy the entire game together, something that FromSoftware titles do not offer, and is only available on PC via mods. The Free Friend's Pass is also an incredibly generous offering that allows players to experience the game without owning it, which is, again, something that is rarely offered. In this regard, Hexworks really hit it out of the park, not only listening to players' feedback but going the extra mile to make the experience as enjoyable and accessible as possible in terms of multiplayer. While the 2.0 update doesn't address all the issues found in Lords of the Fallen, as the clunky inventory management hasn't been improved, and some of its additions aren't exactly great, like the new UI which I feel doesn't really fit the game's aesthetics too much, there's no denying that Hexworks' dedication to their game has paid off big time. It's rare that we see such a level of post-launch support for a single-player-focused experience, and as such, the developer has to be commended for it. Hopefully, the lessons learned during the long development of Lords of the Fallen will benefit its sequel, which is currently in development for PC and consoles.0 Comments 0 Shares 97 Views

WCCFTECH.COMGigabyte’s GeForce RTX 5080 “AORUS Master” Sees Its Thermal Gel Getting Leaked Out After Just One Month of UsageNVIDIA's GeForce RTX 5080 user report "thermal gel" leakage with their Gigabyte AORUS MASTER ICE variant, and that too in just a month of usage. Gigabyte's GeForce RTX 5080 Thermal Gel Gets Leaked Out, Likely Showing Flaws In the AIB's QA Process Problems with Team Green's RTX 50 series keep emerging every other day, but this time, we shouldn't put the blame on NVIDIA; instead, it's AIB partner, Gigabyte. In a post on QuasarZone, a user reports that he has experienced what appears to be a "thermal gel" leakage with their Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5080, and it has been liquified to the point that it has started moving towards the PCIe riser, which is indeed something surprising and rather a serious malfunction. It is disappointing to see such issues with a variant as expensive as the AORUS MASTER. Image Credits: QuasarZone Now, interestingly, the thermal gel we talked about is actually a replacement for the conventional thermal pads, and according to Gigabyte, it is a "server-grade" gel which is essentially non-fluid, so with the reported incident, it is certain that the gel had a defect. This situation would've made sense if it had occurred after a prolonged use, but according to the user, he got the RTX 5080 exactly one month ago, which shows that this malfunction is undoubtedly the fault of the AIB partner. The user had mounted the GPU vertically throughout his use, so this might be something that would have contributed to the leaking. So, imagine spending $1,500+ on a GPU only to see such a defect in it. This issue should be addressed immediately. Fortunately, the Gigabyte distributor was quick enough to respond to the issue. Since it is a newly-emerged problem, they are in discussion with Gigabyte about addressing it, as there's no formal policy regarding "thermal gel leakage." While the thermal gel isn't a conductive material, it could damage components if the leakage isn't addressed immediately. If it moves to the PCIe riser, it could block the connection, leading to serious issues. Deal of the Day0 Comments 0 Shares 137 Views

WCCFTECH.COMGhost of Yotei Has Been Rated in Taiwan, Suggesting Release May Be ImminentGhost of Yotei has been rated in Taiwan today, suggesting that, judging from some precedents, the game may not be too far from release. As reported by Gematsu, the second entry in the series developed by Sucker Punch received an R rating for violence, tobacco and alcohol and inappropriate language, which was predictable looking at the first entry in the series. While the rating also highlights how a launch date has not been revealed yet, we are likely going to hear more about it very soon, as not much time usually passes from the first ratings in Asian countries to the release date announcements. For Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, another big PlayStation 5 exclusive launching in 2025, the launch date was confirmed a little over a month after the game was rated in South Korea. We haven't seen much of Ghost of Yotei since its announcement last year. Back in March, the game's official website confirmed some details regarding the new protagonist, Atsu, and some new gameplay mechanics, including new weapons like the odachi, kusarigama, and dual katanas, more varied environments that players will be able to take advantage of, and more. Ghost of Yotei is scheduled to release in 2025 on PlayStation 5. A PC version has yet to be officially announced, though there's little doubt that a port will be coming at some point. WCCFTECH.COMMajor Motherboard Vendors Reportedly Increasing Motherboard Prices: ASUS, MSI, And Gigabyte Boards To Cost More In The Near FutureMost motherboard series already cost higher than previous generations and this will be another blow to consumers. ASUS, Gigabyte, and MSI Motherboards Rumored to Soar in Prices: Another Blow to Consumers After the Post-Pandemic Era? Since 2020, motherboard prices have soared significantly, with Intel motherboards reaching a staggering 40% higher average selling price compared to the pre-pandemic. AMD motherboards were no different and saw a 35% increase in avg selling price as well. While the motherboard market has just started to recover, new reports are suggesting that motherboard makers are reportedly going to increase the prices of their new products. As per Board Channels (via @harukaze5719), major Taiwanese motherboard companies, such as ASUS, MSI, and Gigabyte are reportedly increasing their motherboard prices. It's unknown as to when this price increase will take effect, but if this report is true, then current-gen motherboards such as AMD and Intel's 800-series could soar in prices in the near future. The exact reasons aren't out in public but could be attributed to several factors. If you remember, the US government extended the exemption of graphics cards and motherboards shipped from China recently, but as soon as the period is over, the products may rise in prices. The ongoing trade tensions may affect the worldwide market, with hardware manufacturers adjusting their pricing strategies to circumvent tariffs and, as we know, motherboard makers don't just manufacture their products in Taiwan alone. However, there might be more reasons that may affect the motherboard prices, including production costs, which have increased in recent years due to technological advancements. The higher-grade copper used in the circuit boards has surged in price as well. On top of that, the increasing labor costs and adoption of technologies such as PCI-E 5.0 and USB4.0 also affect prices. It's not clear whether the effect will extend to older motherboards, but it could be a possibility. We have yet to hear from these manufacturers, but such price increases are done silently without any official announcements. Currently, AMD's AM5 socket and Intel's LGA 1851 socket are the most recent ones, but Intel's LGA 1700 is more dominant in the market in sales. AMD's 800 series motherboards are already expensive with many budget segment models crossing the $300 mark and another price surge could make PC building more difficult than ever. WCCFTECH.COMChinese Tech Giants Ordered More Than $12 Billion Of NVIDIA’s H20 AI Chips Ahead Of Sanctions – ReportAccording to a report from the Nikkei, Chinese technology giants Alibaba, Tencent and ByteDance had placed billions of dollars of orders for NVIDIA's H20 GPUs ahead of the US restrictions on the chips announced earlier this month. The H20 is the latest NVIDIA chip to be sanctioned by the US government, but Nikkei's sources report that Chinese firms had expected the restriction as early as last year and had prepared beforehand. As per one source, the total value of Chinese orders placed with NVIDIA exceeded $12 billion, with billions of dollars of the chips shipped to China before the restrictions cut off supply in April. Chinese Firms Unsurprised By US Restrictions On NVIDIA's H20 AI GPUs Reports of turmoil in the H20 supply chain had started to surface in late March, when a Chinese server company purportedly warned customers of a shortage of the GPUs. This shortage was expected to last beyond April 20, and according to the Nikkei, it might have been the result of over-ordering by major Chinese technology companies including ByteDance, Tencent and Alibaba due to potential US sanctions on the chips. The publication's sources reveal that the three Chinese firms had ordered one million H20 GPUs ahead of US sanctions. Combined with the fact that Chinese tech giant Huawei is believed to be able to produce at least 750,000 of its Ascend A10C AI GPUs, the country has managed to stockpile a large amount of chips before the blanket US sanctions on the products. However, while the Chinese companies did place orders for a million chips, it's unclear whether all of the orders were fulfilled. Image Source: NVIDIA According to the details, Chinese firms have placed more than $12 billion dollars of H20 AI GPU orders since last year, with multiple billions of dollars of orders having been shipped to the country. While the precise figure remains unclear, the sources add that the Trump administration's H20 export license requirements introduced earlier this month meant that Huawei, Tencent and ByteDance's plan of stockpiling a year's worth of AI GPUs fell short. While Chinese firms cannot directly purchase some advanced AI GPUs, they have tried to do so by setting up global subsidiaries to order the chips. Taiwan's leading contract chip manufacturer, the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) has confirmed that it is working with the US Commerce Department to trace orders that might have originated from suspicious Chinese entities. The latest orders of H20 GPUs add to the stockpile of advanced chips that Chinese firms have procured. Earlier in the year, it was reported that China's Huawei had managed to source chip dies that could enable it to manufacture as much as 1 million Ascend 910C AI GPUs provided a flawless assembly process. Huawei acquired these dies were acquired before the first Trump administration's sanctions came into effect in September 2020. However, their manufacturing process is significantly behind that of the latest chips manufactured by TSMC, which rely on advanced extreme ultraviolet (EUV) chip manufacturing tools. WCCFTECH.COMAMD Allegedly Pushes Forward Radeon RX 9060 XT 16 GB & 8 GB Launch To 18th May, Pushes Back RX 9070 GRE 12 GB Launch To Q4 2025AMD has allegedly revised its launch schedules for two major RDNA 4 GPU launches, the Radeon RX 9060 XT & RX 9070 GRE series. AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT 16 GB & 8 GB "Mainstream" GPUs Now Launching on 18th May, RX 9070 GRE 12 GB Pushed Back To Late 2025 Budget and mainstream consumers who saw the release of the Radeon RX 9070 series graphics cards may have been waiting for more cost-effective options, and it looks like there's some good news and some bad news. Image Source: Board Channels (via @realVictor_M) Starting with the good news, the AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT series graphics cards, which were going to launch in both 16 GB and 8 GB models, are now being pushed forward. Earlier, the cards were aiming for a June release date and are now scheduled for launch on the 18th of May. That's just days ahead of Computex 2025, where we are likely to see several partner cards displayed at their respective booths. It is not confirmed if this will be an announcement or a hard launch, but the former seems more likely. Also, this is the second confirmation of a mid-May launch around the Computex timeframe. As for the graphics card itself, the AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT GPU will be available in both 16 GB and 8 GB models, similar to the RTX 5060 Ti and RTX 4060 Ti series. These cards come with a narrow 128-bit bus interface, and unlike NVIDIA's newest option, which utilizes GDDR7 memory and offers up to 448 GB/s bandwidth, the RDNA 4 GPUs will stick with a 20 Gbps GDDR6 solution for 320 GB/s of total bandwidth. AMD is expected to price these cards very competitively in the $300-$400 range, so expect some heated competition between Blackwell and RDNA 4. As for the other card, the AMD Radeon RX 9070 GRE, which is a 12 GB variant featuring a cut-down Navi 48 GPU with a 192-bit bus, was going to be introduced on the 8th of May. However, that plan has also changed, and the card is now allegedly aimed for Q4 2025, around the Chinese 11.11 sales season. So it will be some time before we get to hear more news about this specific variant, but it is likely to be a strong solution for gamers in the Asian Pacific market, like every other "GRE" card has been. WCCFTECH.COMIntel To Reportedly Announce The Layoff Of Over 21,000 Employees – Equal To 20 Percent Of Its Workforce – This WeekThis is not investment advice. The author has no position in any of the stocks mentioned. Wccftech.com has a disclosure and ethics policy. Cantor Fitzgerald's star analyst, C.J. Muse, noted earlier this week that he saw "aggressive cost-cutting" and a "greater sense of urgency and purpose" at Intel now that Lip-Bu Tan was at the helm of the iconic chipmaker. Well, we might be about to witness the first such significant penny-pinching step from the new CEO. To wit, Bloomberg is now reporting that Intel will announce plans later this week to cull its workforce by 20 percent. As per a tabulation by Trading Economics, Intel had 108,900 employees at the end of 2024. Accordingly, the planned layoffs would presumably affect over 21,000 employees. Today's tidbit comes as Intel is gearing up to announce its earnings for the first quarter of 2025 as soon as next week. Of course, this would be the first such event under the nascent leadership of Lip-Bu Tan. 2023: Intel announces 15,000 jobs to be eliminated, from approximately 131,900 to 124,800. 2024: Intel announced plans to reduce its workforce by approximately 15%, which equated to over 15,000 job cuts. 2025 so far (April 22): Intel plans to cut around 20% of its workforce,… — Samantha LaDuc (@SamanthaLaDuc) April 23, 2025 Do note that this is not the first time that the financial media has reported on Intel's planned layoffs in recent months. A similar report by Bloomberg also surfaced back in July 2024, highlighting Intel's then-plans to cull its workforce by 10,000 employees. However, Intel's total workforce has persisted around the 110,000 level for the past few months. Intel, under the tutelage of its previous CEO, Pat Gelsinger, had devised an ambitious cost-cutting plan, to the tune of $10 billion. It remains unclear if Intel's latest purported plan for a 20 percent cut in its workforce adheres to the broad outlines of Gelsinger's strategy or constitutes an entirely new effort by Lip-Bu Tan. Of course, if the planned layoffs do materialize this week, they would constitute a bullish catalyst for Cantor Fitzgerald analysts, who also view with manifest positivity the upcoming Intel Foundry Day event on April 29th and any announcement related to a potential JV. Intel shares are up 2 percent in after-hours trading today, which follows ~4 percent gains in the regular trading session. So far this year, the stock is largely flat, having recouped some of its steeper losses of March and early April. Deal of the Day0 Comments 0 Shares 74 Views

WCCFTECH.COMOnimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny Hands-On Preview – Aging Like Fine WineThe Onimusha series may not be as popular as other CAPCOM franchises, but it remains to this day one of the most unique series ever released by the Japanese publisher. Starting out as a different take on the formula made popular by the Resident Evil series, the franchise evolved considerably until the launch of Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams, the latest entry in the series, which plays slightly differently from its predecessor, doing away with the signature fixed camera angles that make the series so different from the vast majority of action-adventure games of the time. With a new entry in the series called Onimusha: Way of the Sword on the way, CAPCOM has decided to bring the second entry in the series, Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny, to modern gaming platforms with a remaster that aims to faithfully recreate the original game with improved visuals and some small additions which have little impact on the experience. This is, in my opinion, not a bad thing at all, as the game has aged incredibly well. The Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny remaster is so faithful to the original, which I have gone through countless times back in the PlayStation 2 days but never revisited in over 20 years, that it felt instantly familiar. So much so that I could remember how much of the stiff but incredibly charming English language script was delivered by the voice actors, awkward pauses included. I also had no trouble getting used again to some of the game's unique mechanics, which, as mentioned above, have aged so well that I have no doubt even newcomers will have no trouble getting into the game and enjoying it. Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny, much like its predecessor, is a rather unique action-adventure game that strikes a happy medium between the survival horror experience of the first three entries in the Resident Evil series and the more action-oriented approach of the original Devil May Cry, whose development started back in the day, as a new entry in the Resident Evil series. Employing the same fixed camera angles and pre-rendered backgrounds of the older entries in the popular CAPCOM survival horror series, which have been touched up and upscaled like the 3D character models in the remaster, players control Jubei Yagyu as he embarks on a journey to gather the five orbs created to protect humans from demons and defeat Nobunaga Oda, the famous daimyo and one of the three great unifiers of Japan, who has become the lord of the demons following the death of Fortinbras by the hands of Samanosuke Akechi in the original Onimusha. During the course of his journey, Jubei will encounter multiple companions who will help him, depending on his actions, and involve him in their personal stories that will evolve as he continues his war against the demon lord. The epic journey depicted in Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny is extremely enjoyable right from the start. In the first few hours, the game immediately shows its best cards, featuring a combination of simple puzzle solving in the vein of the Resident Evil series and fast and engaging combat against all sorts of enemies, ranging from regular humans to powerful demons, which is made extremely enjoyable by Jubei's mobility and the many techniques he can employ using the currently equipped weapon, which include the thunder katana Buraitou and the ice spear Hyoujin-yari. Unlike the original Devil May Cry, which requires good knowledge of every ability at Dante's disposal, Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny is a little less hardcore, meaning that even newcomers will instantly have fun unleashing elemental magical attacks and avoiding enemy techniques while they get to learn the intricacies of the combat system, which features plenty of advanced techniques, including a satisfying Issen critical attack with a strict timing that can kill enemies in a single blow. The fixed camera angles, sometimes, don't provide the best view in combat, especially against the powerful but incredibly memorable boss encounters, but even this flaw is part of the charm of the experience. Combat in the remaster is greatly enhanced by a new feature that allows Jubei to switch between different weapons on the fly, removing some of the downtime of the original, as weapons could only be swapped via the menu in the PlayStation 2 release. Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny couldn't be releasing at a better time. With the next entry in the series still a ways off, this remaster will be an excellent way for veterans to get re-acquainted with the unique quirks of the franchise as well as for newcomers to understand why the series is so beloved. Jubei Yagyu's war against Nobunaga Oda will return on May 23rd on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Tested on PC. Preview access provided by the publisher.
