WWE Reportedly Interested In Mike Tyson For WrestleMania 41 Appearance
ARLINGTON, TEXAS - NOVEMBER 15: (L-R) Jake Paul and Mike Tyson fight during LIVE On Netflix: Jake ... [+] Paul vs. Mike Tyson at AT&T Stadium on November 15, 2024 in Arlington, Texas. (Photo by Al Bello/Getty Images for Netflix 2024)Getty Images for Netflix 2024We might not have seen the last of Jake Paul and Mike Tyson in the ring. The next time we see the two men faceoff, it could be in the WWE.The WWE already has a relationship with Jake Pauls older brother Logan Paul. After seeing the numbers Tyson did with Jake, it appears WWE would like to get a piece of the pairs appeal.Tyson and Pauls fight generated significant buzz due to the collaboration between Tyson and MVP Promotions. Rumors began circulating on Wednesday, suggesting the promotion expressed interest in a match involving Paul and Tyson.Paul defeated Tyson in a boxing match via unanimous decision on Friday, November 15. The fight wasnt exactly action-packed, but it drew more than 108 million viewers on Netflix, according to reports from MVP Promotions. The fight is the most-viewed boxing match in history, and the viewership benchmark was a groundbreaking achievement for sports content on Netflix, surpassing the previous record set by the 2021 Formula 1 documentary, Drive to Survive.WWEs Monday Night Raw is set to make its Netflix debut on January 6 in an event scheduled to take place at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California. Its possible a link between the WWE, the Pauls and Tyson may already be established.MORE FOR YOUPaul appeared on Logans talk show ImPaulsive on Wednesday, and the two discussed the chances of Jake joining his older brother in a WWE storyline.Logan has been a semi-regularly featured Superstar on WWE programming for two years, with notable matches against Roman Reigns and Ricochet, cementing his cross-promotional appeal. He was the United States Champion before losing his title to LA Knight earlier this year.Jake told Logan hed like to be his Paul Heyman, which could make for an interesting angle. Here is a look at the episode.Tyson also has a history with WWE.He participated in a huge storyline during the Attitude Era involving Shawn Michaels and Stone Cold Steve Austin. Mike Tysons most iconic moment in WWE came at WrestleMania XIV, where he served as a special enforcer during the main event between Shawn Michaels and Stone Cold Steve Austin. The spot led to segments being watched millions of times on YouTube, and it even produced a playable version of Tyson in WWF War Zone and WWEs 13 video games. Its unclear if WWE brass was on hand in Arlington, Texas, for Paul-Tyson, but Triple H (aka Jean-Paul Levesque) and his wife Stephanie McMahon were present at UFC 309 at Madison Square Garden.WWE and UFC are under the same corporate umbrella. TKO Holdings, formed after the merger between WWE and UFC parent company Endeavor, aims to leverage the combined appeal of both brands for joint promotions and crossover events. The lines between all combat sports and WWE are blurring more than ever. Its unclear what Tyson could do with WWE at this point in his life. The 58-year-old would likely have difficulty doing anything too physical besides throwing a punch or two.Thankfully, that might be all that is required, and the spotno matter how smallwould likely be quite lucrative for all involved.Dont be surprised to see something begin in January when WWE makes its debut on Netflix and culminates at WrestleMania 41, which takes place in Las Vegas on April 19-20, 2025.

Because of his rsum, Steveson, 24, is the hottest free agent in the sport.Steveson won an Olympic gold medal in wrestling at the Tokyo Olympics.Hes a Division I National Champion and a former WWE Superstar who also played for the Buffalo Bills this past preseason. His Olympic gold medal came after defeating Georgian wrestler Geno Petriashvili in a match he sealed with a last-second score.CHIBA, JAPAN - AUGUST 06: Gold medalist Gable Dan Steveson of Team United States poses with the ... [+] gold medal during the Men's Freestyle 125kg medal ceremony on day fourteen of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games at Makuhari Messe Hall on August 06, 2021 in Chiba, Japan. (Photo by Ezra Shaw/Getty Images)Getty ImagesStevesons transition into WWE was highly anticipated, and he was signed to a unique NIL deal, allowing him to continue his collegiate wrestling career while under contract with the company. However, he was released by the promotion in May.Steveson recently played a significant role in helping Jon Jones prepare for Stipe Miocic ahead of UFC 309, and that experience has seemingly led to his next move. Jones, considered by many to be the greatest fighter in MMA history, is also known for his ability to mentor younger fighters, having previously worked with other notable names in the sport.MORE FOR YOUSteveson appeared on The Ariel Helwani Show on Wednesday and said he fell in love with the sport while training with Jones. Helwani expressed his desire to see Steveson try his hand at mixed martial arts and asked about his prospects. After being in that camp with Jon Jones that definitely put a major spark in me to go out there and do MMA, Steveson said. Im not sure of the promotion yet, but Jon definitely lit a fire under me and say, hey, I think you should go back to wrestling. I think you should try MMA. Weve got a great team here in Albuquerque if you want to join us. It was just fascinating how I got into something so quick. When I put on the gloves, everything felt like home base. With the wrestling, the boxing work, the jiu-jitsu, I think I could be very good really quick. Here is a look at the clip:Steveson is one of the most remarkable athletes of our generation. His combination of power, explosiveness, and dexterity is off the charts. That said, even for an athlete of his caliber, he would face a tough challenge making an immediate impact in the UFC.His career trajectory would likely resemble that of another former Division I wrestling champion, Bo Nickal. The UFC made Nickal go through two stints on the Dana White Contender Series before signing him to the main roster. Nickal had two amateur fights in 2021 and a professional fight that he ended in 33 seconds in 2022 before getting his first taste of the Contender Series in August 2022.Nickal scored a 62-second submission win in that fight. He returned a month later in the same season and won via triangle choke in just 52 seconds to earn the contract.Nickals rise could become a blueprint for high-level wrestlers entering MMA, as it could allow them to develop well-rounded skills before jumping into the UFC.Its possible Steveson could follow a similar plan if the UFC is the direction he chooses. However, he seems open to offers from other promotions. When Nickal emerged, the Professional Fighters League had yet to establish itself as a viable option for young up-and-comers. Now, with the PFLs multimillion-dollar deal with Francis Ngannou and partnerships with global broadcast platforms like DAZN, the promotion has become a legitimate contender for talent acquisition. Also, signing young fighters like Paul Hughes and Dakota Ditcheva, both of whom are fighting for championships in the PFL in the next three months, the PFL could be an even more attractive starting point for Steveson. He could secure a lucrative contract from the PFL, which would benefit from his star power, and he would likely face manageable opponents early in his career. He wont get both of those advantages from the UFC.Stevesons ultimate destination could be the UFC, but the PFL seems to have a great opportunity to offer him a lucrative deal upfront. It will be interesting to see how it unfolds, but Stevesons MMA debut will be a significant event, regardless of the promotion.

Landmark Bill to Ban Children From Social Media Introduced in Australias Parliament
By Rod McGuirk / APUpdated: November 21, 2024 3:30 AM EST | Originally published: November 21, 2024 2:30 AM ESTMELBOURNE Australias communications minister introduced a world-first law into Parliament on Thursday that would ban children under 16 from social media, saying online safety was one of parents toughest challenges.Michelle Rowland said TikTok, Facebook, Snapchat, Reddit, X and Instagram were among the platforms that would face fines of up to 50 million Australian dollars ($33 million) for systemic failures to prevent young children from holding accounts. This bill seeks to set a new normative value in society that accessing social media is not the defining feature of growing up in Australia, Rowland told Parliament. There is wide acknowledgement that something must be done in the immediate term to help prevent young teens and children from being exposed to streams of content unfiltered and infinite, she added.X owner Elon Musk warned that Australia intended to go further, posting on his platform: Seems like a backdoor way to control access to the Internet by all Australians. The bill has wide political support. After it becomes law, the platforms would have one year to work out how to implement the age restriction. For too many young Australians, social media can be harmful, Rowland said. Almost two-thirds of 14- to 17-years-old Australians have viewed extremely harmful content online including drug abuse, suicide or self-harm as well as violent material. One quarter have been exposed to content promoting unsafe eating habits.Government research found that 95% of Australian care-givers find online safety to be one of their toughest parenting challenges, she said. Social media had a social responsibility and could do better in addressing harms on their platforms, she added. This is about protecting young people, not punishing or isolating them, and letting parents know that were in their corner when it comes to supporting their childrens health and wellbeing, Rowland said.Child welfare and internet experts have raised concerns about the ban, including isolating 14- and 15-year-olds from their already established online social networks.Rowland said there would not be age restrictions placed on messaging services, online games or platforms that substantially support the health and education of users. We are not saying risks dont exist on messaging apps or online gaming. While users can still be exposed to harmful content by other users, they do not face the same algorithmic curation of content and psychological manipulation to encourage near-endless engagement, she said. The governmentannouncedlast week that a consortium led by British company Age Check Certification Scheme has been contracted to examine various technologies to estimate and verify ages.In addition to removing children under 16 from social media, Australia is also looking for ways to prevent children under 18 from accessing online pornography, a government statement said.Age Check Certification Schemes chief executive Tony Allen said Monday the technologies being considered included age estimation and age inference. Inference involves establishing a series of facts about individuals that point to them being at least a certain age.Rowland said the platforms would also face fines of up to AU$50 million ($33 million) if they misused personal information of users gained for age-assurance purposes.Information used for age assurances must be destroyed after serving that purpose unless the user consents to it being kept, she said.Digital Industry Group Inc., an advocate for the digital industry in Australia, said with Parliament expected to vote on the bill next week, there might not be time for meaningful consultation on the details of the globally unprecedented legislation.Mainstream digital platforms have strict measures in place to keep young people safe, and a ban could push young people on to darker, less safe online spaces that dont have safety guardrails, DIGI managing director Sunita Bose said in a statement. A blunt ban doesnt encourage companies to continually improve safety because the focus is on keeping teenagers off the service, rather than keeping them safe when theyre on it.

U.S. Gathers Global Group to Tackle AI Safety Amid Growing National Security Concerns
U.S. Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo at the inaugural convening of the International Network of AI Safety Institutes in San Francisco on Nov. 20, 2024.Jeff ChiuAPBy Tharin Pillay / San FranciscoNovember 21, 2024 1:00 AM ESTAI is a technology like no other in human history, U.S. Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo said on Wednesday in San Francisco. Advancing AI is the right thing to do, but advancing as quickly as possible, just because we can, without thinking of the consequences, isnt the smart thing to do.Raimondos remarks came during the inaugural convening of the International Network of AI Safety Institutes, a network of artificial intelligence safety institutes (AISIs) from 9 nations as well as the European Commission brought together by the U.S. Departments of Commerce and State. The event gathered technical experts from government, industry, academia, and civil society to discuss how to manage the risks posed by increasingly-capable AI systems.Raimondo suggested participants keep two principles in mind: We cant release models that are going to endanger people, she said. Second, lets make sure AI is serving people, not the other way around. The convening marks a significant step forward in international collaboration on AI governance. The first AISIs emerged last November during the inaugural AI Safety Summit hosted by the UK. Both the U.K. and the U.S. governments announced the formation of their respective AISIs as a means of giving their governments the technical capacity to evaluate the safety of cutting-edge AI models. Other countries followed suit; by May, at another AI Summit in Seoul, Raimondo had announced the creation of the network. In a joint statement, the members of the International Network of AI Safety Instituteswhich includes AISIs from the U.S., U.K., Australia, Canada, France, Japan, Kenya, South Korea, and Singaporelaid out their mission: to be a forum that brings together technical expertise from around the world, to facilitate a common technical understanding of AI safety risks and mitigations based upon the work of our institutes and of the broader scientific community, and to encourage a general understanding of and approach to AI safety globally, that will enable the benefits of AI innovation to be shared amongst countries at all stages of development. In the lead-up to the convening, the U.S. AISI, which serves as the networks inaugural chair, also announced a new government taskforce focused on the technologys national security risks. The Testing Risks of AI for National Security (TRAINS) Taskforce brings together representatives from the Departments of Defense, Energy, Homeland Security, and Health and Human Services. It will be chaired by the U.S. AISI, and aim to identify, measure, and manage the emerging national security and public safety implications of rapidly evolving AI technology, with a particular focus on radiological and nuclear security, chemical and biological security, cybersecurity, critical infrastructure, and conventional military capabilities. The push for international cooperation comes at a time of increasing tension around AI development between the U.S. and China, whose absence from the network is notable. In remarks pre-recorded for the convening, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer emphasized the importance of ensuring that the Chinese Community Party does not get to write the rules of the road. Earlier Wednesday, Chinese lab Deepseek announced a new reasoning model thought to be the first to rival OpenAIs own reasoning model, o1, which the company says is designed to spend more time thinking before it responds. On Tuesday, the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission, which has provided annual recommendations to Congress since 2000, recommended that Congress establish and fund a Manhattan Project-like program dedicated to racing to and acquiring an Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) capability, which the commission defined as systems as good as or better than human capabilities across all cognitive domains that would surpass the sharpest human minds at every task. Many experts in the field, such as Geoffrey Hinton, who earlier this year won a Nobel Prize in physics for his work on artificial intelligence, have expressed concerns that, should AGI be developed, humanity may not be able to control it, which could lead to catastrophic harm. In a panel discussion at Wednesdays event, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodeiwho believes AGI-like systems could arrive as soon as 2026cited loss of control risks as a serious concern, alongside the risks that future, more capable models are misused by malicious actors to perpetrate bioterrorism or undermine cybersecurity. Responding to a question, Amodei expressed unequivocal support for making the testing of advanced AI systems mandatory, noting we also need to be really careful about how we do it.Meanwhile, practical international collaboration on AI safety is advancing. Earlier in the week, the U.S. and U.K. AISIs shared preliminary findings from their pre-deployment evaluation of an advanced AI modelthe upgraded version of Anthropics Claude 3.5 Sonnet. The evaluation focused on assessing the models biological and cyber capabilities, as well as its performance on software and development tasks, and the efficacy of the safeguards built into it to prevent the model from responding to harmful requests. Both the U.K. and U.S. AISIs found that these safeguards could be routinely circumvented, which they noted is consistent with prior research on the vulnerability of other AI systems safeguards. The San Francisco convening set out three priority topics that stand to urgently benefit from international collaboration: managing risks from synthetic content, testing foundation models, and conducting risk assessments for advanced AI systems. Ahead of the convening, $11 million of funding was announced to support research into how best to mitigate risks from synthetic content (such as the generation and distribution of child sexual abuse material, and the facilitation of fraud and impersonation). The funding was provided by a mix of government agencies and philanthropic organizations, including the Republic of Korea and the Knight Foundation. While it is unclear how the election victory of Donald Trump will impact the future of the U.S. AISI and American AI policy more broadly, international collaboration on the topic of AI safety is set to continue. The U.K. AISI is hosting another San Francisco-based conference this week, in partnership with the Centre for the Governance of AI, to accelerate the design and implementation of frontier AI safety frameworks. And in February, France will host its AI Action Summit, following the Summits held in Seoul in May and in the U.K. last November. The 2025 AI Action Summit will gather leaders from the public and private sectors, academia, and civil society, as actors across the world seek to find ways to govern the technology as its capabilities accelerate.Raimondo on Wednesday emphasized the importance of integrating safety with innovation when it comes to something as rapidly advancing and as powerful as AI. It has the potential to replace the human mind, she said.More Must-Reads from TIMEWhy Trumps Message Worked on Latino MenWhat Trumps Win Could Mean for HousingThe 100 Must-Read Books of 2024Sleep Doctors Share the 1 Tip Thats Changed Their LivesColumn: Lets Bring Back RomanceWhat Its Like to Have Long COVID As a KidFXs Say NothingIs the Must-Watch Political Thriller of 2024Merle Bombardieri Is Helping People Make the Baby DecisionContact us at letters@time.com

Ripple (XRP) Price Trades Around the Upper Bolinger Band Amid Analysts Bullish Outlook
Home Ripple (XRP) Price Trades Around the Upper Bolinger Band Amid Analysts Bullish Outlook Crypto News Ripple (XRP) Price Trades Around the Upper Bolinger Band Amid Analysts Bullish Outlook5 min read Published: November 20, 2024 Over the past week, the crypto market has been bullish, with several tokens playing in the green. Ripple (XRP), being among these tokens, surged significantly above $1.XRP increased from $0.640 to a high of $1.2, representing an increase of over 80% within just six days. XRP is trading at $1.14, up 3.24% in the past 24 hours. While the price has pulled back slightly, several technical indicators show that the bulls are still in control. The token is currently hovering around the upper Bollinger band indicator, hinting at a potential rally, hitting a new all-time high. Moreover, top crypto pundits are bullish on the coin, predicting it could hit $8 in the coming months. Can XRP sustain the current momentum to reach this target? This analysis will provide into XRPs trajectory and the possibility of reaching the touted level soon.Whale Activity and Long-Term Holders Fuel XRPs Upward MomentumAccording to Santiment data, XRPs strong upward trend has attracted many big players in the market. Their activity is fueling more upward movement for XRP.The data shows that whale addresses accumulate nearly 900 million tokens in just seven days. This massive influx, valued at $1 billion, has played a significant role in XRPs recent price surge.Large holders, or whales, are showing strong confidence in XRPs future, which has helped push its price higher.Additionally, long-term holders (LTHs) are not moving their XRP. This suggests they believe in the coins future growth, which adds more support to its price. With these factors combined, XRP is holding steady above the $1.00 mark, reinforcing its bullish outlook. As whales continue to accumulate and long-term holders stay confident, XRP is poised for a potential rally. This increased confidence and support could lead to XRP breaking through previous price barriers, possibly setting new all-time highs.XRP Price Analysis: Technical Indicators Show Bullish Sentiment, Key Levels to WatchXRP has been trading around the upper Bollinger Band, a key indicator for potential breakouts. If it manages to push past the upper band, we could see an acceleration in its price, driving it to new highs.Supporting this bullish outlook is the Price Volume Trend (PVT) indicator, which currently sits at 1.66 billion. This indicator shows the relationship between price movement and volume, helping to identify the strength behind a trend.A PVT value of 1.66 billion indicates that there is strong buying pressure, suggesting that XRPs price is being supported by significant market interest.Another important indicator to consider is the SuperTrend, which is currently signaling a buy. This reinforces the idea that XRP could continue to rally, particularly if other indicators align with this trend. The MACD is significantly above its signal line, with the histogram bars in the green zone. This setup indicates that the momentum is strong, and buyers are in control of the market.Together, these indicators paint a strong bullish picture for XRP. However, there are key price levels to watch. The recent high of $1.27 is a critical resistance level. A break above this level could attract more whales into the market, which would further drive up the price. On the other hand, if early buyers decide to take profits, XRP might dip below its current price. The support at $1.03 is an important level to monitor. If the price drops to this region, it could signal a short-term pullback. However, as long as the price stays above this support, the long-term bullish outlook remains intact.Analyst Armando Pantoja Predicts Big Moves Amid Rising Whale ActivityMany analysts have made ambitious predictions for XRP, some suggesting it could rally to as high as $8. In a recent X post, Market analyst Armando Pantoja believes something big is about to happen for XRP.Pantoja pointed out the growing activity of XRP whales, which suggests rising bullish sentiment. According to him, Whales have been buying a lot of XRP recently. In just one week, they added 453.3 million XRP, worth about $526 million. This has sparked expectations that XRPs price will keep rising. The most accumulation by whales in almost 3 years, he added.Pantoja also highlighted that wallets holding over 100,000 XRP have hit a new record high. These large wallets now control 85% of XRPs total supply, which is a strong sign of confidence in the coin.Analyst Pantoja predicts that XRP could reach prices as high as $3, $8, or even more in the future. He believes the coin could reach this level following Gensels exit + Elliot Wave patterns. The analyst added that the last time the price broke this pattern, it surged remarkably. This means that theres hope for the Ripple token. While theres no specific timeline for when XRP will reach this target, its recent strong performance, bullish indicators, and growing whale interest signal a bright future ahead.Breaking key resistance levels at $1.3 and $1.8 will set the stage for a rally to the $3 threshold, attracting more market interest. However, remember that the crypto market is highly volatile, and the price could change course at any time.Add Techreport to Your Google News Feed Get the latest updates, trends, and insights delivered straight to your fingertips. Onchain Data Provider Reveals Five Key Signs Suggesting Potential Price Crash for Bitcoin
Key takeawaysCryptoQuant identified five crucial metrics that signal when Bitcoin may be nearing an unsustainable price peak. The MVRV Ratio and Fear & Greed Index are already flashing warning signs, suggesting potential short-term risks.Other indicators, including new money inflows and Coin Days Destroyed, still support a bullish trend but require close monitoring.CryptoQuants Five Key Warning Signs Could Bitcoin Be Ready for a Crash? An on-chain data provider, CryptoQuant, has highlighted five critical metrics that can help investors assess if Bitcoin is approaching a local price peak.Notably, one of these indicators is already signaling caution. In a post shared on X, CryptoQuant outlined the key tools investors should monitor. This will help determine if Bitcoins price might be reaching unsustainable levels.MVRV RatioThe first indicator, the MVRV ratio, evaluates Bitcoins market value. It represents the total worth of all mined coins against the realized value. This becomes the aggregate of the most recent selling prices of all circulating Bitcoin.According to CryptoQuant, a ratio exceeding 3.7 indicates that Bitcoin may have hit a short-term valuation peak. The MVRV ratio surged to a high of 7 in February 2021, coinciding with Bitcoins historic rally to around $60,000. However, the ratio stands at 2.67, based on data from CoinGlass an alarming sign to monitor.Overheating Fear and Greed IndexAnother critical metric to monitor is the Crypto Fear & Greed Index. It evaluates the overall sentiment in the cryptocurrency market. When the index surpasses 80 out of 100, with other warning signs, it may indicate that Bitcoin is approaching a price peak.Since November 12, the index has consistently stayed above 80. It hit an impressive 90 on both November 17 and 19, the highest level seen since February 2021.New Money Inflowsinto BitcoinThe third indicator evaluates the level of new capital entering the market. When theres a lack of fresh funds, cryptocurrency prices often lose momentum and eventually decline. As per CryptoQuant, the realized cap growth chart serves as an effective tool for tracking these inflows.Current data suggests that the inflow of new money remains relatively strong, indicating that Bitcoin is still in a bullish phase. This tool tracks the activity of Bitcoin that has remained untouched for extended periods, identifying if these coins are being sold.According to CryptoQuant, a spike beyond 1520 million on this indicator could signal short-term bearish pressure.Currently, the metric sits at 15.1 million, suggesting increased selling activity but not yet at a critical level.Inter-Exchange Flow PulseThe last key indicator is the Inter-Exchange Flow Pulse (IFP), which tracks Bitcoin transfers to and from derivative exchanges. As per CryptoQuant, the IFP continues to show a positive trend, with traders moving Bitcoin to these exchanges to use as collateral.Currently, the IFP is around 730,000, trending upward. During previous bull markets, the IFP peaked at 1 million, while in the bear market of late 2023, it dropped to as low as 200,000.Analysts Weigh in on Bitcoin BTCs TrajectoryDespite these cautionary signals, some analysts remain bullish. In a recent interview with CNBC, the head of digital assets research at VanEck, Matthew Sigel, predicts Bitcoin could hit $180,000 this cycle. If Bitcoin hits $180,000, that will be a 1000% return from the bottom to the peak of this cycle.Sigel believes the Bitcoin rally is just getting started. And given there is no technical resistance, Bitcoin could hit repeated all-time highs before 2024 ends.According to Sigel, support from the government, pro-crypto administration, and massive institutional inflow is fueling this rally. He also mentioned that Google Search for Bitcoin has reached its highest in four years. This suggests increased interest in BTC.As of November 19, Bitcoin reached a new high of $94,100, reflecting its upward trajectory. Given the heightened optimism, BTC could witness a continued upward uptrend.Add Techreport to Your Google News Feed Get the latest updates, trends, and insights delivered straight to your fingertips. Nearly half of young Norwegians are fine with piracy to save money, survey shows
Cutting corners: Depending on who you ask, digital piracy has been a topic of controversy, partly due to the ambiguity surrounding its legality compared to physical theft or counterfeiting. A recent Norwegian government survey highlights that acceptance of piracy varies significantly across age groups. Unsurprisingly, younger respondents were the least opposed to piracy, often citing high costs as their primary justification. A recent survey reveals that nearly half of Norwegians under age 30 have no qualms about streaming or downloading movies, music, or TV shows from unofficial sources. Slight less than half admit to having pirated digital media.Conducted by Ipsos and published by the Norwegian government, the survey questioned 1,411 participants aged 15 and older about their attitudes toward digital piracy and counterfeit physical goods. As expected, these practices are less popular among older age groups. However, about one-third of all respondents expressed some level of acceptance toward piracy and buying knock-off goods.Translation by TorrentFreak, click to enlargeThe survey found that 21 percent of participants under 30 strongly agreed that accessing movies, music, or TV shows from illegal sources is acceptable when official channels are too expensive.Another 29 percent partially agreed. Among respondents aged 30 to 44, the proportion who strongly or partially agreed only dropped slightly, to around 40 percent. In contrast, more than half of participants over 45 strongly disagreed with this stance. // Related StoriesInterestingly, respondents across all age groups were less concerned about pirating content that is unavailable through legal channels. Nearly two-thirds of those under 30, along with 46.6 percent of all respondents, deemed it acceptable in such cases.Copyright holders frequently argue that piracy harms media industries and potentially affects jobs. Surprisingly, 71.2 percent of survey participants either fully or partially agreed with this assertion, suggesting that many consumers justify piracy despite acknowledging its potential harm. While at least half of respondents from all age groups reported paying for legal streaming services, 44 percent of those under 30 admitted to knowingly or unknowingly accessing media from illegal sources. Among those who engaged in piracy, 40.6 percent said they would switch to official platforms if prices were more affordable.Unfortunately for consumers, streaming companies are trending in the opposite direction. Netflix, Disney+, and YouTube Premium have all announced price hikes this year. Meanwhile, Amazon Prime Video (which is paid to begin with) recently introduced ads, launched a pricier ad-free subscription option, and plans to increase the number of ad slots next year.Survey respondents were slightly less accepting of purchasing counterfeit physical items.Among those under 30, 48.7 percent found it acceptable to buy knock-offs when authentic goods were too expensive. However, only 8.2 percent admitted to knowingly purchasing counterfeit products. The most commonly purchased counterfeit items were clothing, sunglasses, and electronics, in that order.

Its also more than double that of the Saturn V, which generated 7.6 million pounds of thrust during the launches that sent the Apollo astronauts on their way to the moon more than 50 years ago.But SpaceXs work doesnt stop there, as there are plans to increase the power of the Raptor engines to an extent that will see the Super Heavy booster create an astonishing 23 million pounds of thrust during liftoff. The extra power will significantly enhance the Starships ability to carry heavier payloads on its future missions to the moon and possibly even Mars. It would also result in a marked improvement in the rockets overall launch efficiency as the increased thrust will reduce gravity losses during the rockets ascent, as more of the rockets power would be used for acceleration rather than fighting gravity.Tantalizingly, the extra power could also pave the way for Starship variants even larger than the current 120-meter-tall vehicle thats currently undergoing testing. In a nutshell, the improvements to the Starships Raptor engines have the potential to help SpaceX reach its goals of reducing launch costs, increasing payload capacity, and enhancing the overall performance of its launch system.Editors Recommendations
