9TO5MAC.COMApple CEO Tim Cook donates $1M to Trumps inauguration fundApple CEO Tim Cook has joined a chorus of Big Tech executives making sizeable donations to President-elect Donald Trumps inauguration. The news comes via a scoop from Axios as we approach Trumps inauguration on January 20. Cook will personally make a $1 million donation to Trumps inaugural committee, the report says. Last month, Cook visited Mar-a-Lago in Florida for a meeting with Trump. Tesla CEO Elon Musk was also spotted at the dinner table with Trump and Cook. Meta CEO Mark ZuckerbergvisitedMar-a-Lago to meet with Trump at the end of November. Google CEO Sundar Pichai met withTrump in December. Trump has also met with Jeff Bezos and many other high-profile executives in the Big Tech industry and beyond. The likes of Meta, Amazon, and Uberhave donated $1 million to Trumps inauguration fund. OpenAIs Sam Altmanalso madea $1 million donation. Outside of Silicon Valley, companies including Ford, Toyota, GM, Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, Coinbase, and more have donated millions to the Trump inauguration fund. Cookmet withandearned praise from Trump multiple timesduringhis first term, andother tech leadersare reportedly trying to imitate that strategy during Trumps second term. In October,Cook spokewith Trump about Apples ongoing battles in the European Union. Trump promised Cook he would not let the EU take advantage of American companies if he were to get elected.Meta this week shook up its policy team ahead of Trump taking office later this month. Nick Clegg stepped down as Metas global head of policy after six years, with Joel Kaplan taking over. Kaplan worked under President George W. Bush and has close ties to Trump and incoming VP JD Vance. Follow Chance:Threads,Bluesky,Instagram, andMastodon.Add 9to5Mac to your Google News feed. FTC: We use income earning auto affiliate links. 9TO5MAC.COMApple Intelligence errors with news alerts keep piling up, heres the latestApple Intelligence notification summaries are, in my view, one of the early killer AI features. But theyre not without their flaws, as the BBC has continued highlighting via several new examples today. Here are the latest Apple Intelligence errors with news alerts.BBC News highlights ongoing Apple Intelligence errorsLast month, the BBC publicly aired its grievances with Apple over its new AI notification summary feature.Added in iOS 18.1, the feature allows Apple Intelligence to summarize a notifications info rather than providing the actual content as written.Apple Intelligence is currently available in beta, so Apple says you should expect mistakes and report them so the system can continually be improved. The BBC is taking that message to heart. The December example involved AI claiming, via a summarized BBC News alert, that Luigi Mangione had shot himself. This was entirely untrue. Now today, the BBCs Imran Rahman-Jones has published several more examples of Apple Intelligence errors its users have reported (via AppleInsider).A news summary from Apple falsely claimed darts player Luke Littler won the PDC World Championship before he has even played in the final. The incorrect summary was written by artificial intelligence (AI) and is based on a BBC story about Littler winning the tournament semi-final on Thursday night.Within hours, another AI notification summary falsely told some BBC Sport app users that Tennis great Rafael Nadal had come out as gay. There are undoubtedly countless more examples users have seen, so I wouldnt be surprised if stories like this continue to become more common.9to5Macs TakeNotification summaries are prone to mistakes for all kinds of apps, but understandably they can be especially problematic when summarizing breaking news.Summarizing the contents of what is already a summary seems a bit unnecessary in the first place, so I wonder if Apples ultimate remedy will be disabling AI summaries for news apps by default.Do you think these Apple Intelligence errors are a serious issue? How have summaries been in your experience? Let us know in the comments.Best iPhone accessoriesAdd 9to5Mac to your Google News feed. FTC: We use income earning auto affiliate links. WWW.ARCHITECTURALDIGEST.COM57 Kitchen Organization Ideas for Decluttering in 2025A perfectly organized cooking area may seem like a myth, but it's never entirely out of reach. Smart storage and some savvy kitchen organization ideas can maximize efficiency and even save you precious meal prep time.Organizing kitchen cabinets by adjusting the shelves and using shelf risers takes patience, but being able to grab a dinner plate without moving the salad plates makes life so much easier, says Katie McMenamin Sabo, organization expert and co-founder of Pixies Did It in Cleveland, Ohio and New York City.Creating designated zones is what helps Shea McGee, home decor expert and founder at Studio McGee, keep the space organized. Shell sector off a prep zone near utensils and cutting boards and bundle dish soap, towels and sponges within arms reach of a cleaning station. By grouping items by function, the kitchen flows effortlessly, and everything feels intentional and easy to find, McGee tells AD.To help you free up pantries, kitchen cabinets, and other small spaces, we spoke with interior designers and organization experts about kitchen organization ideas that wont bog you down. Here are some step-by-step storage ideas and tips to help get you therealong with products that will make opening kitchen cabinets a dream.Step 1: Declutter the kitchenRemove packagingYoull be shocked at how much space all the boxes and bags of grain take up in your cabinets. Sorting food into airtight containers will clear shelving space, especially if youre a Costco fan and buy in bulk. Look for stackable storage containers and refill them after every grocery trip.Bentgo Pantry Airtight Food Storage Containers (10-Piece Set)Stackable storage containers can transform chaotic shelves into neat rows of pantry items.Designate spotsAll of our experts agree that creating zones and stations is crucial to having order in a kitchen. After all, knowing where napkins and towels belong makes it easier to keep them there. Geometric holders fit on countertops as seamlessly as they do on a dining table.Pottery Barn Tava Handwoven Napkin HolderA pretty rattan napkin holder sends a message that your kitchen is curated.Recycle old manuals and menusMany instruction manuals can be found online, and restaurant menus change too often to rely on a pamphlet from 2018. Recycle those papers after youve bookmarked the links or downloaded the files you need. If the menu is more nostalgic than usefulsay, a menu from the pizza place you and your partner loved in collegeit should be framed or otherwise displayed outside of a kitchen drawer anyway.Framebridge Georgetown Antique Fluted Gold FrameThis frame has all of the right touches to permanently house your heirloom ephemera.Take important files out of the kitchenWorking from home often becomes working from the kitchen table, but that isnt where you should be storing any important paperwork, like bills, neighborhood notices, or critical forms. Store those in any other room that isnt as prone to spills, liquids, and messes, and free up your kitchen counters or table. At the very least, pick up a file folder that will keep documents safe from spillage.Leather FolderA high-quality file folder will ensure that you know where your most important bits are at all times.Establish a needs-to-go bowlEvery trip to Whole Foods Market is another opportunity to see a slew of Amazon-approved sauces, snacks, and spices. But condiments and other fun foods can become a nightmare for pantry organization if you end up with a bunch of unopened or half-used snacks that arent on your usual rotation (looking at you, last three handfuls of Veggie Straws). Choose a bowl for the countertop and decree that everything in it has to be eaten up ASAP before anything new is bought.0 Yorumlar 0 hisse senetleri 117 Views
