CES 2025: Anker Solix's New Electric Cooler, Solar Umbrella and Portable Chargers Keep the Fun Going Outdoors
Summer fun may not be on your mind right now in the depths of winter, but that hasn't stopped Anker and its Solix brand from showcasing a variety of new outdoor products that it's calling "portable essentials." The lineup, unveiled atCES 2025, includes a battery-powered electric cooler, a solar umbrella and a variety of chargers and portable power banks, along with a tantalizing hint about the Anker E15 robot lawnmower.Anker Solix EverFrost 2 Electric Cooler Upgrade your inbox Get cnet insider From talking fridges to iPhones, our experts are here to help make the world a little less complicated. Keeping food and drinks cool on the go is a challenge in the summer, even if you have a portable cooler because ice melts over time. The Anker Solix EverFrost 2, the successor to Anker's first EverFrost, aims to solve this, because it's not just a cooler, but an electric cooler that works with a detachable 288Wh LFP battery to provide air cooled refrigeration on the go. With the included battery, you get up to 52 hours of cooling time with the option of adding a second battery to get 104 hours of runtime. The cooler comes with 6-inch wheels and a handle that doubles as a tray. AnkerThe cooler maintains temperatures between -4 degrees Fahrenheit to 68 degrees Fahrenheit, and according to Anker, it cools 30% faster than regular non-electric portable coolers when fully loaded. When not being used by the cooler, the battery can double as a power bank with 60W USB-C charging and 12W USB-A charging ports. You can recharge with various options, including a 100W solar umbrella (more on that below), AC, car socket and USB-C.The design is also portable with 6-inch wheels, a fold-down tray that doubles as a handle and an IPX3 waterproof rating. It's available in three sizes: a 23L, 40L and a larger 58L version. The 58L version notably features two separate compartments, letting you freeze and cool different items at the same time or separate food and drinks. Recharging options include solar, AC, car socket and USB-C. AnkerUniquely, the cooler can also be monitored remotely with the Anker app, allowing you to adjust settings and monitor temperature. Pre-orders of the 40L and 58L will begin Feb. 21 through Anker.com, with retail availability starting March 7. The 23L model is expected to launch later in the second quarter of 2025.Anker Solix Solar UmbrellaThe Solix solar-powered umbrella is designed to pair with the EverFrost 2 cooler, but it'll also work with various Solix portable power stations, including the C300 DC, C800 Plus and C1000.The solar umbrella is foldable and portable, with "Perovskite solar cells," which gives it 30% better solar power generation in bright light and doubles efficiency in low light conditions. The umbrella supports a 100W output through the XT-60 and USB-C ports. The solar umbrella will be available in the summer of 2025. Recharging options include solar, AC, car socket and USB-C. AnkerAnker 140W ChargerPortable chargers aren't quite as exciting as some of the other products in Anker's lineup, but Anker's new 140W charger stands out because it's the first to feature a digital display. That's a feature we commonly find in portable power banks like the Anker 737 and power stations. The digital display provides real-time temperature monitoring and shows the total power output for each port to make tracking the charging status of various devices easier. The charger has 3 USB-C ports and 1 USB-A port. It also has vertical-facing ports, making cables less likely to slip out. The 140W charger is now available directly from Anker and Amazon for $89.99. The new Anker charger is the first with a digital display. AnkerAnker 25K Power BankFor those who need to charge on the go, Anker has you covered with the Anker 25K power bank. As the name suggests, it has a 25,000mAh capacity and can output 165W to charge multiple devices simultaneously. It has three USB-C ports and one USB-A port and a pair of built-in retractable USB-C cables that are 11.8 inches and 27.2 inches, respectively. The power bank comes with two differently sized retractable USB-C charging cables. AnkerIt supports PD 3.0, letting you charge a 13-inch MacBook Air (M3) 1.3 times, an iPhone 16 up to 4.5 times and a MacBook Pro 16-inch (M3) to 50% in 33 minutes. There's a TFT color display that provides data, including total output power, individual power output for each port, temperature of the power bank and estimated recharging time. The Anker 25K power bank is available now for $99.99 through Anker and Amazon. The Anker E15 lawnmower broke cover at CES 2025. AnkerEufy Robot Lawn Mower E15Unfortunately, Anker was fairly tight-lipped in its CES 2025 press release about the E15 lawnmower. All we know about it so far is that it uses Eufy V-FSD and supports "next-gen intelligent hands-free lawn maintenance," which suggests AI to us.

Eufy's Cutting-Edge CES Vacuum Is a Robot, Handheld and Stick Vac -- All at Once
While robot vacuums have long been able to vacuum and mop by switching modes, we've never seen anything like what Eufy has brought to CES 2025. The Eufy E20 isn't just a robot vac -- it's a three-in-one vacuum cleaner that can take on completely different roles in your home depending on what you're cleaning. The E20 module, winner of a CES 2025 Best of Innovation award, starts as a combo charging station. Attached is a robot vacuum that can reach 8,000Pa in suction power and uses Eufy's iPath system with laser detection to notice objects as small as 15 millimeters and track a course around the room. That's high suction compared to many robot vacuum models (except for some of the highest-end Roborocks), and Eufy credits its "five-level" suction system that helps prevent clogs to maintain suction as the vacuum continues to work. Eufy promises speedy charging modes and powerful suction for its E20 all-in-one. EufyThe E20 a fast charger too, able to fully charge a drained battery in 2.5 hours, which Eufy claims is 40% faster than competing robot vacuums. Eufy reports the E20's battery life is rated at 180 minutes. The bot will return to automatically empty debris into the station (Eufy states the 350mL/12oz bin is large enough to last for 75 days without needing to be emptied, although that sounds awfully optimistic to us). However, if you want to do spot cleaning or tackle a larger cleaning job, you can break out the E20's lightweight, cordless stick vac mode, which greatly boosts the suction power to 30,000Pa. That allows you to clean sudden messes, deeper-down dirt/hair and spots that a robot vac just can't reach, like your stairs. But there's a third mode, too: The E20 can also turn into a handheld vacuum with the same suction power as the stick vac. That allows you to spot clean furniture, drapes, pet beds, crumb-covered counters and similar areas. Pack it back into the charging stations when you're done and the bot can take over floor duties.Read more: Your Next Vacuum Should Be Cordless Switch to cordless E20 modes for spot cleaning while letting the robot handle the rest. EufyAnother interesting point for the Eufy E20: You don't have to wait long to get one. Presales are open as of January 6th, 2025, including a 100-day free return window if you don't like it, and the E20 will launch fully on February 10th, priced at $549.99.Most robot vac users have to keep a separate vacuum around for tougher jobs anyway, so combining all necessary vacs you need into one module makes a lot of sense. If those suction and battery numbers prove accurate in real-world testing, Eufy may have a top all-home cleaning kit for buyers who want a full replacement.Take a look at our other discoveries and top picks from CES 2025 here.

Nvidias Project Digits is a personal AI supercomputer
At CES 2025 in Las Vegas, Nvidia unveiled Project Digits, a personal AI supercomputer that provides access to the companys Grace Blackwell hardware platform in a compact form factor.[Project Digits] runs the entire Nvidia AI stack all of Nvidia software runs on this, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said onstage during a press conference on Monday. Its a cloud computing platform that sits on your desk Its even a workstation, if you like it to be.Designed for AI researchers, data scientists, and students, Project Digits packs Nvidias new GB10 Grace Blackwell Superchip, which delivers up to a petaflop of computing performance for prototyping, fine-tuning, and running AI models. Nvidia claims a single Project Digits unit can run models up to 200 billion parameters in size. Parameters roughly correspond to a models problem-solving skills, and models with more parameters generally perform better than those with fewer parameters. The GB10, which was developed in partnership with MediaTek, features an Nvidia Blackwell GPU connected to a 20-core Nvidia Grace CPU. Inside the Project Digits enclosure, the chips are hooked up to a 128GB pool of memory and up to 4TB of flash storage.Image Credits:NvidiaNvidia says that two Project Digits machines can be linked together to run up to 405-billion-parameter models, if a job calls for it. Project Digits can deliver a standalone experience, as alluded to earlier, or connect to a primary Windows or Mac PC.But its not cheap. Project Digits machines, which run Nvidias Linux-based DGX OS, will be available starting in May from top partners for $3,000, the company said. So it wont be just anyone who can afford a Project Digits unit of their own. Huang thinks that theres a market, however. With Project Digits, the Grace Blackwell Superchip comes to millions of developers, he said in a statement. Placing an AI supercomputer on the desks of every data scientist, AI researcher and student empowers them to engage and shape the age of AI. Nvidia is helping humanoid robots learn through Apple Vision Pro instruction
Robotics have been a foundational element of Nvidias stratospheric growth in recent years. When the chip maker announced GR00T in March of last year, it was heralded as a watershed moment from humanoid robotics. Most of the categorys biggest names were available from launch, including, 1X Technologies, Agility Robotics, Apptronik, Boston Dynamics, Figure AI, Fourier Intelligence, Sanctuary AI, and Unitree Robotics. At CES on Monday, CEO Jensen Huang unveiled another essential aspect of GR00T: Blueprint. The new modality is based around imitation learning, a fundamental aspect of teaching robots a new skill. Its doubly important in the world of humanoids, whose designs are based on the one doing the teaching.Imitation learning is what it sounds like. A person performs an action and the robot follows suit. Its an effective method of educating systems that are designed to automate existing tasks, like those in factories and warehouse, where the first several rounds of humanoids are being deployed.Teleoperation has a fundamental role to play in all of this. It can be used to teach robots remotely, instantly digitizing ones actions through an approximation of a real-life environment. With GR00T Blueprint, users can create these actions by using Apples Vision Pro. The process is captured as a digital twin, which the robot can then repeatedly execute in simulation.

MSI goes big at CES 2025 with its lineup of new 18-inch gaming laptops
Raider 18 HX (Intel) Kyle Kucharski/ZDNETAhead of CES, gaming laptop company MSI announced its 2025 lineup, which includes over 10 18-inch laptops to round out its catalog of heavy-hitting, high-performance devices. While other manufacturers are focusing on thin and light ultraportables, MSI showed off an arsenal of imposing devices, including the Titan 18 HX AI Dragon Edition, an aptly-named 18-inch gaming rig inscribed with Norse runes and a dragon's eye. Also: ZDNET joins CNET Group to award the Best of CES, and you can submit your entry nowWhat's noteworthy are all the new AMD processors on board MSI's gaming lineup, with most laptops featuring both an Intel and AMD configuration. The Intel laptops sport a refresh of Intel's "Raptor Lake" H and Intel "Arrow Lake" HX/H series processors with the previously-mentioned Titan 18 HX AI, Raider 18 HX AI, Stealth 18 HX AI, and Vector 18 HX AI models. On the AMD side, the Raider comes with the AMD Ryzen 9, and the Stealth with the AMD Ryzen AI 300 series.Besides the laptop lineup, MSI showed off its spicy gaming handheld, the Claw 8 AI+, and a handful of non-gaming devices aimed at enterprise and productivity consumers. Here's a closer look at the king-sized laptops MSI just announced.Titan 18 HX AI (Dragon Edition) The Titan 18 HX AI (Dragon Edition) showing the conference room who's boss. Kerry Wan/ZDNETThe statement-making 18-inch Titan HX AI is armed with an Intel Core Ultra 9 processor 275HX, Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 GPU, and up to 96GB of memory to demolish whatever game you want to throw at it. MSI took the concept of Norse mythology and ran with it for the design of this laptop: The chassis is inscribed with shimmering old Norse runes, while the back of the display features an imposing dragon's eye illustration. Next to the trackpad, there's also a 3D dragon sigil that affords the device a "special edition" quality. It's not just all about looks, though. The machine features two Thunderbolt 5 (DisplayPort/Power Delivery 3.1) ports for dual 8K monitor support, an HDMI port, three USB-As, and an SD express card reader. For connectivity, it's got Intel's Killer Wi-Fi 7 BE1750 and support for Bluetooth v5.4 for minimum latency while gaming. Kyle Kucharski/ZDNETThe hardware onboard is supported by a 99Wh battery, a full Cherry MX mechanical keyboard, and a haptic trackpad. The display features an 18-inch, 4K, 120Hz MiniLED screen at 16:10 resolution, getting all the way up to 1,000 nits of brightness. If that wasn't bright enough, the trackpad itself illuminates -- a feature exclusive to this device that MSI is calling "Mystic Light."Also: Two flagship LG OLED TVs released at CES 2025: Specs, best new features, and moreMSI's SSD cooling technology also comes in clutch here, providing a stable baseline temperature for PCIe Gen 5 SSDs on the Titan, Raider, and Vector via a built-in heatsink pipe to keep read and write speeds at their highest without getting throttled. Note that the Titan also comes in its "regular" form, without all the dragon stylizing, and is otherwise identical.Basically, this is a desktop-level laptop packed into a laptop's form factor -- although at 7.9 pounds, it's certainly not something you'd want to tote around all day. This is a machine for e-sports, a laptop that demands to be noticed. Not something to moonlight as a work laptop in the office, lest you send your coworkers fleeing from the dragon's gaze.Raider 18 HX AI/A18 HX Kyle Kucharski/ZDNETMSI's Raider series features an Intel and AMD version, with an 18-inch display formatted to a 17-inch chassis. This aims to optimize cooling and maintain a relatively portable form factor. Like the Titan, the Raider also features a 120Hz Mini LED display at 4K and a 16:10 aspect ratio, supported by an Nvidia Geforce RTX 5090 GPU.The Raider also comes with similar I/O offerings to the Titan, with dual Thunderbolt 5 ports, HDMI, three USB-A, and an SD express card slot, all while supporting Intel Killer Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. The outward design is sleek and understated, featuring the signature RGB light strip along the front of the device and red-slotted accents along the vents on the side and back.It also supports MSI's OverBoost technology, which is designed to deliver peak combined CPU and GPU performance with a total power output of 200W. It also allows the CPU to safely exceed its standard TDP limit, pushing performance boundaries that much further.Stealth 18 HX AI/A18 AI Kyle Kucharski/ZDNETThe lightest 18-inch laptop in MSI's cohort is the Stealth 18 HX AI (Intel) and A18 AI (AMD) at just 6.3 pounds. I've tested some consumer devices that aren't too far off from this number, so the fact that this hardware was packed into an 18-inch machine is impressive, to say the least. The Stealth 18 HX AI features the same 16:10 Mini LED display at 120Hz or 240Hz and is powered by up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 GPU with 24GB GDDR7.The processor goes up to the Intel Core Ultra 9 processor 275HX and features a unique dual-fan vapor chamber cooling system with four exhausts, including the large outputs on the back of the chassis. Also, like the other 18-inch devices, it features a 99Wh battery, but MSI says the Stealth will charge up to 50% in 30 minutes or 80% in 50 minutes. Also: Exclusive: Incase announces new keyboard that Microsoft designed (but never released)The other thing that sets the Stealth 18 HX AI apart is its sound system, which features six Dynaudio surround sound speakers paired with two force-cancelling woofers. The up-facing speakers are right below the keyboard, putting the sound front and center.Vector 18 HX AI/A18 HX Kyle Kucharski/ZDNETThe Vector 18 HX AI with the Intel Core Ultra 9 processor and up to the AMD Ryzen 9000 series. Paired with a blazing-fast 240Hz QHD display at 16:10 aspect ratio and powered by the Nvidia RTX 50 series GPU, it provides lightning-fast visuals with no visual tearing. Like the other 18-inch laptops announced today, the 18-inch display is fit onto a 17-inch chassis for slightly better portability and cooling capabilities.Speaking of cooling, the Vector 18 HX AI comes with a dual fan setup. Seven copper heat transfer pipes are elevated within the chassis to provide a "3D" layering to maximize airflow. The Vector also features the same SSD cooling fins as the Titan and the Raider to keep those read and write speeds high during extreme load. Also: The best mechanical keyboards of 2025: Expert testedLastly, to double down on features that gamers actually care about, the Intel Killer Wi-Fi 7 on board is designed to minimize latency during gaming, resulting in less than 2ms lag time and peak speeds of up to 5.8 Gbps with 5 and 6GHz connections. This is largely thanks to the 320MHz channel bandwidth of Wi-Fi 7, which can chew through a 15GB-sized file in around 25 seconds.Featured reviews
