Why it matters: Rockstar and Take-Two Interactive still haven't confirmed when the PC version of GTA 6 will arrive. With the fall 2025 console release date approaching, the silence from the companies is worrying. However, Corsair Gaming has strongly hinted that GTA 6 will be available on PC in early 2026. The suggestion that we might only be waiting a few months for GTA 6 on PC came from Corsair Gaming's financial VP, Ronald van Veen. During the company's latest earnings call, he said (via VGC), "Yeah, GTA 6 is probably the one everyone is talking about. And we'll get a glimpse of that, I think, later on in the year for console. My understanding now it's going to come out in the fall for console, and then early 2026 for PC."It's certainly not an official announcement date, and van Veen might only be giving his own opinion on when he thinks the PC version will land the use of "my understanding" is very non-committal. But industry executives are going to know more about these things than most people, of course, and the fact he mentioned a potential release window at all is interesting. Some worry that we could be waiting a very long time for GTA 6 on PC after it lands on console this fall. There were even concerns it might not come to PC at all. However, Take-Two alleviated those fears last week when chairman and CEO Strauss Zelnick emphasized the importance of the platform."We have seen PC become a much more important part of what used to be a console business, and I wouldn't be surprised to see that trend continue," he said.During Take-Two's recent earnings call, Zelnick confirmed that GTA 6 remained on track for a fall release on consoles, though he reminded people that delays can never be ruled out. // Related StoriesIt took seven months for GTA 3 to arrive on PC following its console release, eight months for San Andreas, eight months for GTA 4, and almost two years for GTA 5. If what van Veen says proves accurate, GTA 6 could arrive on PC faster than any of those games.Another question hanging over GTA 6 is how much it will cost. Its massive budget has led to rumors that it will be more expensive than the now-standard $70 charged for most AAA titles. One analyst says he hopes it will be as much as $100, which would have a trickle-down effect on other new releases, pushing the usual selling price of big games up by $10 to $80.

  • Meta is developing humanoid robots designed for household chores
    www.techspot.com
Forward-looking: Meta is reportedly planning major investments in AI-powered humanoid robots. The company is said to be in the initial stages of developing futuristic bots that can perform household chores, and is already assembling a crack team for the cutting-edge project. According to sources quoted by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Meta does not intend to develop a branded robot like Tesla's Optimus. Instead, the company is looking at supplying the sensors and AI software to OEMs that will manufacture and sell the actual hardware. However, Meta hasn't written off the possibility of developing a first-party humanoid robot in the future. To get the project off the ground, Meta is assembling a new team led by Marc Whitten, the former CEO of GM's Cruise self-driving car division. The team will be part of Meta's Reality Labs hardware unit that is responsible for products like the Quest VR headset and the Ray-Ban smart glasses.Building any piece of machinery comes with its own set of risks, and the robots will be no exception. To alleviate safety concerns, Meta will develop software and hardware tools to prevent accidents, such as a person's fingers getting caught in the robot's machinery. The company also plans to ensure that nothing untoward happens if the power goes off unexpectedly or the device malfunctions in the middle of a task.Meta has yet to officially announce its humanoid robot project, so the exact details about it are still murky. However, the company is said to be in negotiations with major robotics and AI firms, including Unitree Robotics and Figure AI Inc, for collaborations on the project.According to one of the sources, Meta is still at least a couple of years away from bringing the humanoid robot to the market, and it could take "years" for the company's robotic platform to underpin third-party products. There's no word on the price either, but given that Tesla is targeting a $30,000 price tag for the consumer version of Optimus, we don't expect this to be affordable. // Related StoriesIt is worth noting that some media outlets are already billing this development as possible competition for Tesla's Optimus, but the report suggests that the two may not be direct competitors, at least initially. According to Gurman, Meta wants to sell its robot to families for household chores and home automation, while Tesla is focused on selling the Optimus to businesses and factories to replace human workers.

  • Gemini Live could soon provide on-the-go subtitles for the hearing impaired
    www.digitaltrends.com
Gemini Live offers a more interactive and conversational experience than traditional voice assistants by enabling natural and free-flowing conversations with AI. However, this feature has a significant drawback that may have deterred some early users.Just like in regular conversations, Gemini Live operates entirely by voice. For instance, if you ask, Who won the Super Bowl? Gemini Live responds, The Philadelphia Eagles. Unfortunately, having that type of conversation becomes challenging in noisy environments and is impossible for individuals with hearing impairments.Recommended VideosAndroid Authority has discovered new strings in the latest Google app beta (version 16.6.23). It shows users could soon have access to a new button to generate real-time captions for Gemini Lives responses. Please enable Javascript to view this contentTo use the new feature, youd activate Caption preferences from Gemini settings. From there, you can also modify the caption size and style.Android AuthorityOnce available only to Gemini Advanced users, Gemini Live is free for Android and iOS users.Google Gemini offers a platform to brainstorm ideas, develop event plans, and create business proposals. It supports collaborative input, allowing for gathering diverse thoughts and insights in real-time. Users can incorporate images or videos to help clarify concepts and engage participants. Whether planning a corporate event or discussing a product launch, Google Gemini provides tools to enhance conversations. Users can also set deadlines, assign tasks, and track progress, which helps maintain alignment and accountability during the planning process. As I explained in September, Gemini Live is a fantastic feature. Yet talking back and forth with an AI assistant can be disconcerting, especially when other people are in the room. Adding captions would open up Gemini Live to more users and make using the tool much less awkward. The Gemini Live caption feature has not been released to the general public. It remains in beta for now.Editors Recommendations

He has also voiced his support for the German far-right and called for the centre-left government of Sir Keir Starmer in the UK to be thrown out. What began with Tesla owners slapping bumper stickers on their cars saying I bought this before Elon went crazy has grown to activists projecting an image of Musk making a gesture many have likened to a Nazi salute on to Teslas factory in Berlin. The UK campaign group Led by Donkeys joined with Germanys Centre for Political Beauty in January to project the image, part of a longer montage of Musks recent political statements. The group said it was produced in response to the Tesla chief executives endorsement of German far-right political party, the AfD.Local news outlets have reported on arson and attempted arson at Tesla showrooms in Oregon and Colorado. Earlier this month a Tesla showroom in The Hague was defaced with graffiti that included swastikas and anti-fascist slogans.Dutch police confirmed to the Financial Times that they were in contact with Tesla and the investigation was continuing, but no arrests had yet been made.Teslas stock, which climbed after the presidential election, fell 6 percent on Tuesday to $328.50. Since Musks power is not derived from election to public office, he said, boycotting and divesting from Tesla is the only tool available to curb his agenda. He argued that Tesla was overvalued and that its core business of making and selling cars was deteriorating. Significant losses could force investors to sell, triggering a drop in the share price and forcing Musk to sell a portion of his shares to meet a margin call.Every Tesla sale that you prevent, every dollar not spent servicing a Tesla, not charging at the Superchargerthese further degrade the business, Niedermeyer said. Its not easy, its not guaranteed, but we do have the opportunity to wipe out a huge amount of Elon Musks wealth. In Chicago, protesters carried a banner saying Stop buying Nazi cars.City resident Lisa Pereira said she came to the demonstration because you have to do something. She said she was disturbed by the administrations attempts to crush diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, its aggressive immigration enforcement, and the power wielded by Musk.Everything is a little off the rails, she said. So I decided I had to show up. I had to be in cahoots with my soul.Chris White said he attended on Saturday because he fears were living through a fascist coup.My kids are trans, he said. Im getting told they dont exist. • Trump is not happy about the delayed Air Force One replacement — and toured a Boeing 747 to make the point
    www.businessinsider.com
Donald Trump toured a Boeing plane Saturday to highlight delays to the new Air Force One.The tour of a Boeing 747 jumbo jet took place at Palm Beach airport.Trump renegotiated the new Air Force One deal during his first term, but it may not be ready until 2028.President Donald Trump is again pressuring Boeing to ensure it promptly delivers the next Air Force One.On Saturday, he toured a Boeing plane to "check out the new hardware/technology," Steven Cheung, the White House communications director, told Reuters and the Associated Press."This highlights the project's failure to deliver a new Air Force One on time as promised," he added. The tour took place on a Boeing 747 parked at West Palm Beach International Airport. Photos show Trump's motorcade parked next to the jet.Speeding up the delivery of the presidential jet appears to be a key target for Trump.Boeing was first tapped in 2015 to deliver two new presidential aircraft, known as the VC-25B an upgraded, militarized version of the 747-8.In his first term, Trump renegotiated the contract with Boeing over concerns about escalating costs. He threatened to cancel the program if it exceeded $4 billion. The president appeared enthusiastic about the new planes, showing ABC his red, white, and blue livery design in 2019. Trump's motorcade was seen parked next to a Boeing 747 at West Palm Beach International Airport on Saturday. ROBERTO SCHMIDT/AFP via Getty Images It was initially set to be delivered in 2024, but the timeframe has been pushed back to 2027 or 2028.Since returning to office, Trump has continued to signal his passion for the new Air Force One.At his inaugural ball, Trump cut a cake adorned with a model of the jet in his original livery design.Last month, Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg said that the planemaker was working with Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency to accelerate the program."The president wants the airplane sooner, and so we're working with Elon and the team to figure what can we do to pull up the schedule of that aircraft," Ortberg said.Boeing has reported losses of more than $2 billion on the program. The Air Force has said that Trump's red, white, and blue design would cause further delays because a thermal study found the dark blue could result in added heat in some environments.Joe Biden then selected a light-blue color in line with every other presidential jet since the Kennedy era but Trump appears to continue to prefer his original design. The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Business Insider.

  • Two surprising Final Fantasy remakes 'in active development', insider claims
    www.dailystar.co.uk
Square's Final Fantasy series is no stranger to remasters and remakes, but the next two lined up could surprise even long-time fans if one report is to be believedTech13:41, 17 Feb 2025Updated 13:41, 17 Feb 2025Final Fantasy IX is a classic, and could be getting a chance at a whole new audience(Image: Youtube)There are few series in video games with the lineage of Final Fantasy and fewer still with the conviction to keep naming new entries with ever-higher numbers. The series' last mainline new entry was Final Fantasy 16, but last year saw the second part of Final Fantasy 7's remake trilogy, Rebirth, debut to critical acclaim. We've heard rumours of other remakes (and Rebirth's director told us himself that he wants the third part out as soon as possible), and while fans have joked that one solo dev should dump his girlfriend to focus full-time on a fan remake of Final Fantasy 8, it sounds as though Final Fantasy 9 could be up next.Content cannot be displayed without consentWe'd previously heard whispers of a Final Fantasy 9 Remake being a launch title for the Switch 2, and industry leaker NateTheHate has opened up about a pair of remakes in development. The account, which previously correctly predicted the Switch 2 reveal plans, responded to a fan's question about Final Fantasy remakes, and seemingly confirmed that "both remain in active development".The two remakes that the question pertains to are the aforementioned Final Fantasy 9 Remake (which would pour cold water on it being a Switch 2 launch game if it does indeed land in 2026), while the other is the classic Final Fantasy Tactics.Final Fantasy Tactics has seen a series of re-releases, notably on PSPThe latter was a 1997 PlayStation 1 spin-off of the main Final Fantasy series, offering a more tactical slant but featuring many of the series' most iconic features, like Chocobos and job classes. It was well-received, and a PSP version dubbed The War of the Lions expanded with full voice acting (in the English version) and new items and jobs.Final Fantasy 9 is still highly regarded despite its age(Image: Youtube)Article continues belowAs for Final Fantasy 9, it marked the last mainline entry on Sony's first console, and launched in 2000. It has since come to plenty of other systems, and dropped the sci-fi angle of Final Fantasy 7 and 8 for a return to high fantasy.Would you play either the Final Fantasy Tactics or Final Fantasy 9 Remakes if/when they launch?
