The world of the smart ring is a relatively new one, especially when compared to smartwatches. The UltraHuman Ring Air, for those who don't want to wear a smartwatch. Are smart rings the answer for people who don't want to wear a smartwatch? They're definitely better than wearing nothing, of that I've no doubt. To that end, I've been wearing an Apple Watch Series 10 for a few months. • Morgan Stanley slashes AAPL price target to $252 on lower iPhone upgrade rate fears
    appleinsider.com
A noted analyst has slashed his expectation for Apple stock by about 10% given what he sees to be slower iPhone upgrade rates because of tariffs, and a delayed Siri with Apple Intelligence rollout.Improved Siri's late arrival will weigh on Apple stock, says Morgan StanleyIn a note to investors written by Morgan Stanley's Erik Woodring, Apple's headwinds have been re-evaluated. The most recent fears for Apple's bottom line appear to be the postponement of Siri upgrades, higher product import costs because of Trump administration tariffs, with both leading to lower earnings per share. While Woodring remains bullish on what may be a redesigned iPhone 17 driving sales, he's less certain about other avenues of success. He's decreased calendar year 2025 iPhone shipments a bit, with sales in 2025 being flat year-over-year, as opposed to an increase. Continue Reading on AppleInsider | Discuss on our Forums

These options will allow players to better manage the games visuals to get the most out of their hardware in frame rate as well as visual fidelity. To showcase these options, Krafton has released a video that gives us a look at how the game will look across various settings and hardware. Check it out below. As mentioned earlier, inZOI delivers high-quality graphics and realistic city-level simulations, which require higher system specifications, wrote Krafton on its website. While these requirements ensure the best possible gameplay experience, we remain committed to making inZOI accessible to more players.inZOI will also feature an option that automatically picks out the best settings for players, depending on their hardware. The company has also stated that it will continue work on optimising inZOI to make better use of hardware to provide stable frame rates along with great visuals.inZOI is an upcoming life simulator in the vein of classic titles like The Sims. • Netflix Games confirms departure of former president and VP of GenAI Mike Verdu
    www.gamesindustry.biz
Netflix Games confirms departure of former president and VP of GenAI Mike VerduFormer Netflix Games president leaves GenAI role after just five months News by Vikki Blake Contributor Published on March 12, 2025 Netflix Games' VP of generative AI, Mike Verdu, has left the streaming giant.Although Netflix confirmed Verdu's departure in a statement to Game File, the company did not comment on why the VP left after just five months in the role, nor revealed who has replaced him.Verdu joined Netflix in 2021 to launch its games division. In November 2024, however, after a management restructure, Verdu was moved into the role of VP of generative AI for games, with former Epic Games exec Alain Tascan brought in to lead Netflix's gaming portfolio."Many view [AI] technology with fear, but I am a game-maker at heart and I see its potential to unlock all of us, to create mind-blowing new experiences for players, to lift us to new heights," Verdu said at the time. "Yes, we'll have to adapt and change, but when have we failed to meet that challenge as an industry?"Netflix has been investing heavily in video games for the past few years, especially since first hiring Verdu in 2021. The entertainment streaming firm acquired multiple studios and opened two internal ones, although it announced in October it would be closing the California studio, and canceled six games as part of plans to "adjust [its] portfolio" in February, along with cutting an undisclosed number of staff from Netflix-owned Night School Studio.Netflix's video games are only available on mobile so far, with lifetime downloads of the 100-plus titles passing 210 million in September.Annapurna Interactive appointed former Netflix Games exec Leanne Loombe as head of games in January.

  • Spectre Divide and its developer are shutting down
    www.theverge.com
Spectre Divide, a Valorant-like free-to-play shooter where you control two bodies, is shutting down just months after its September launch. We were optimistic about the first week, developer Mountaintop Studios says in a post. Weve had ~400,000 players play, with a peak concurrent player count of ~10,000 across all platforms. But as time has gone on, we havent seen enough active players and incoming revenue to cover the day-to-day costs of Spectre and the studio. The studio expects to take Spectre Divide offline within the next 30 days, and it will refund all money since the games first season, which kicked off on February 25th. Mountaintop Studios will also be closing its doors at the end of the week, according to the post.We pursued every avenue to keep going, including finding a publisher, additional investment, and/or an acquisition, Mountaintop says. In the end, we werent able to make it work. The industry is in a tough spot right now.RelatedIn December, Mountaintop CEO Nate Mitchell and Spectre Divide game director Lee Horn told The Verge that things were already dire, and that the games console launch and new season would be its hail mary play. Horn said that the marketing was working going into launch, but that server issues at launch axed its momentum. Unfortunately, the game fell over on day one, he admitted. Mitchell told us the game needed thousands of concurrent players if it was going to survive, or else the company would run out of money this year. Unfortunately, the games new season peaked at just over 1,000 concurrents on Steam, and has been downhill ever since; presumably, Mountaintop saw its multiplatform peak of around 10,000 players drop similarly. If the players are enjoying the game... if they arent into season one, they way we hope they are, well have to take a hard look at if we should keep going on as we are, or if players are telling us this isnt what we want, Mitchell told us in December. Apparently, Mountaintop did have to take that hard look, and this is its decision. The Spectre Divide shutdown follows the disastrous launch of Sonys forgettable Concord hero shooter. Sony has since closed down Concords development studio and permanently shut down the game.Additional reporting by Sean HollisterSee More:

  • Meta is trying to block ex-employees book alleging misconduct and harassment
    www.theverge.com
An arbitrator has decided in favor of Meta in a case the company brought against Sarah Wynn-Williams, the former Meta employee who wrote a memoir published this week detailing alleged claims of misconduct at the company. Macmillan Publishers and its imprint that published the memoir, Flatiron Books, were also named as respondents. The memoir, titled Careless People: A Cautionary Tale of Power, Greed, and Lost Idealism, details alleged claims of sexual harassment, including by current policy chief Joel Kaplan, who was her boss, according to NBC News.In the decision, the arbitrator said Wynn-Williams must stop making disparaging remarks against Meta and its employees and, to the extent that she can control, cease further promoting the book, further publishing the book, and further repetition of previous disparaging remarks. The decision also says she must retract disparaging remarks from where they have appeared. However, its unclear if this arbitrator actually has the authority to halt the publishing of the book or if Wynn-Williams can stop the creation of future versions; as of this writing, its currently for sale at stores like Amazon and Barnes & Noble. In the decision, the arbitrator noted that the lawyer representing Macmillian and Flatiron objected to its jurisdiction. Wynn-Williams appears to have signed an arbitration agreement when she left Meta in 2017.Meta, Macmillan, and Flatiron didnt immediately reply to requests for comment. This ruling affirms that Sarah Wynn-Williams false and defamatory book should never have been published, Meta spokesperson Andy Stone says in a statement. This urgent legal action was made necessary by Williams, who more than eight years after being terminated by the company, deliberately concealed the existence of her book project and avoided the industrys standard fact-checking process in order to rush it to shelves after waiting for eight years.See More:
