Narratively, anyway, it's pretty standard blockbuster stuff and doesn't try to be much more than that, but the spectacle of it all? That's where it's at. All the same, James Cameron seems pretty convinced of his third entry in the series, Fire & Ash, and speaking in a recent interview with Stuff, the director shared what some of the responses to the film have been like so far. "I've shown it to a few selected people and the feedback has been definitely the most emotional and maybe the best of the three so far," Cameron said.To see this content please enable targeting cookies. "We'll find out, you know, but I feel pretty good about it. And the work is exceptional from the actors. It's pretty heart-wrenching in a good way." Again, the bar isn't massively high with the first two films anyway, so it's very possible Ash & Fire will be the best one yet! Honestly, it's hard to say right now as we just don't know that much about the film yet. Cameron shared a bit about it back in January, essentially warning fans that it might be a bit heavier, saying, "if youre not making brave choices, youre wasting everybodys time and money."Outside of it being darker than the first two, and will introduce the Ash Clan, a group of Na'vi who've had a rough go of it on Pandora, but even though it has a release date of December 19, later this year, all that's been released is a few stills and some concept art. A trailer is surely right around the corner, and with the way time goes by these days, it won't be long until we know if Cameron is right that it's the best of the lot (or if it's just another "pretty shapes and colours" film like that first two).
