I, uh, went loud for this mission | Image: Eidos Montreal/Square-Enix via PolygonDeus Ex: Human Revolution was the first immersive sim that really clicked for me. The freedom to go loud or stealthy, to navigate the meticulously-crafted levels via the conveniently human-size air ducts, or to hack my way to success, and of course, the likable edgelord protagonist Adam Jensen, all make the game a must-play. If you havent jumped in to this 2011 title (it has aged better than you might expect), you can do so for free if you have Amazon Prime and a PC. The offer will get you a GOG code for the Directors Cut of the game, which includes extra DLC. Last weeks freebie, Wolfenstein: Youngblood, is still available for subscribers.Human Revolutions open-ended mission structure delivers similar highs to the likes of Hitman World of Assassination, though theres a lot more story to unwind in this Deus Ex title (as well as a lot more cover-based dancing). While the original release had a yellow-tinted visual filter that applied to nearly everything in the games world, from the user interface to the locales, its drastically reduced in the Directors Cut thats available for free.
