BungieBungies lawsuit with sci-fi writer Kelsey Martineau, who accused the developer of copying a part of Destiny 2s Red War campaign storyline on his original work that was published back in 2017 before the games release, has made some interesting progress recently. Thanks to Bungies vaulting actions, earlier content in the game became inaccessible for everyone, including themselves, while new content was added. Therefore, to offer proof to the court, the developer had to rely on YouTubers archived videos. As spotted by Game File, obviously, Bungie is unable to provide a copy of the game to show the Red Legion storyline, so they submitted a few videos uploaded by fans instead. One is a 10-hour of hard work from MynameisByf, titled The Complete Story of Destiny! From Origins to Final Shape! Light & Dark Saga Lore & Timeline, and another one is Destiny 2: The Red War All Cutscenes (Season 1) by content creator Destin. Heres the explanation from Bungine:Because (1) Destiny 2s narrative is only available to players in the form of a live-service video game that has changed significantly over time, and (2) physical copies of Destiny 2, and any 2017 version of Destiny 2, are no longer available, the attached videos are the best possible way for the Court to review the accused work.As they admitted, there is no feasible way to provide the Court with a form of the original Red War campaign for review. It sounds too pitiful that Bungie doesnt have a better option. However, they blamed the author for the now-defunct status, saying it is a direct consequence of Martineaus delay in bringing this lawsuit.Besides this lawsuit, Bungie also faced other accusations of copyright infringement. Earlier, an artist claimed that the company had plagiarized fan art created in 2015. In 2023, the company was accused of taking a fans artwork and using it in its Destiny 2 cutscene.Join our80 Level Talent platformand ournew Discord server, follow us onInstagram,Twitter,LinkedIn,Telegram,TikTok, andThreads, where we share breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.Source link The post Vaulted Content In Destiny 2 Is Inaccessible To Anyone, Including Bungie, Who Had To Use YouTube Videos As Proof appeared first on CG SHARES.
